Description of Work: While visiting my mother while her husband was in the hospital, the outlet her washer was plugged into smoked heavily and was close to fire. I called Angie's list for help with an emergency service call. Alexander electric responded. They came that afternoon and replaced the outlet and even replaced the damaged plug as a temporary measure. They were quick and courteous.

Description of Work: Not sure if it's standard for the industry but was charged $250 for a home pre-inspection before my specific electrical problems were addressed. Had electrical work done on my parents 65 year old home. The pre-inspection report ended up being beneficial in addressing unknown issues that proved to be safety issues. Highly recommend. Non-working electrical outlets repaired (4); electrical panel repaired and re-wiring of some sort in the attic of the home.

Description of Work: They installed three under cabinet lights in my office. They knew exactly what to do and purchased the fixtures. They asked if I wanted top of the line or just regular fixtures. Since this was in the office I did not choose the top of the line. I had used them about a year ago to change the lighting in my kitchen. They installed 5 LED can-lights for $995. They are very professional and I will used them each time I have a problem.

+ 0 moreThe first job we hired Alexander Electric for was to add 2 outside receptacles on the house and a new circuit stub-out in a junction box under the house, to be used for supplying power to an out-building planned for future construction. The job went well and smoothly, was completed in half the time expected and the final cost was within the estimate. The second time we hired this company was to take care of a punch-list of electrical repair items in our house; replacement of receptacles, replacement of a couple of faulty light sockets in storage spaces, the addition of light sockets in another storage space, replacement of worn light switches, abandonment of unneeded closet receptacles and correction of ungrounded receptacles. This job was also completed in less time than estimated and well within the estimate. The 3rd and most recent time we hired Alexander Electric, was for the small job of disconnecting and removing a malfunctioning wall-mounted space heater in the bathroom. I had called and asked to schedule for "sometime in the next week or so" and despite their currently full work-load, their response was immediate, with the electrician arriving within 30 minutes. Alexander Electric's personnel are highly competent, knowledgeable and professional. Alexander Electric will always be my first call when I need electrical work done and I have in fact already notified them they will be receiving the job of electrical installation when our new out-building is constructed.
Description of Work: In the past year that we've owned our 168 year old pre-civil war residence, we've hired Alexander Electric 3 times to take care of jobs large and small. These jobs have included major re-wire and new circuit runs, addition of new interior receptacles, addition of new light fixtures and replacement of old light fixtures in attic storage spaces, changing out faulty switches and addition of exterior receptacles.
