Description of Work: Ace Plumbing, Columbus, Georgia |A month after my son and I spent 24 hours cleaning out a toilet drain and all of the outside sewer lines with a rented "snake," the toilet stopped-up again. I called Ace Plumbing, got a good man who cleaned it out again and charged me their one-hour rate, which seemed fair to me. (I'm travelling and don't have any of the paper work.) Two weeks later, the toilet stopped-up again. |Ace came again (same guy with a new helper). They snaked it out again, but this time we cracked the old terracotta pipe outside and found the culprit, roots through a broken section that just grew right back and were soon capturing toilet paper and other delicious nutrients for the hungry trees and ivy at the back of the house. Charge for unstopping was the same. They would have sealed the outside pipe their way, (it was starting to rain) but I wanted it sealed up "my way;" so I paid them (they knocked off 10 bucks) and the next day I later sealed up the outside pipe myself. Months later, it's still working. |I would definitely use Ace again. From my experience, I got good work at a "reasonable price for my city" and no nonsense. |

Description of Work: I called them that morning to get a quote to replace my hot water heater and surge tank. Their pricing was very good AND they did it that afternoon! They were exactly on-time, and did the job in about 2 hours. Their pricing included the hot weater heater, the surge tank, and installation - a very competitive price for our area! I would DEFINITELY use them again!

Description of Work: Don't remember exactly, They have done work for me for several years on our house and some rental property. Had problem, was not able to turn off hot water in bath tub on a Saturday without turning off all water to the house. After hours price was very reasonable and the response was quick and the serviceman was very efficient. Ace is the only company I will call, if they cannot get me scheduled, I would ask them for a recommendation for another plumbing company. Ace has always done good work for me and I would not use any other company. They will always be my first choice.

Description of Work: They repaired a leak under my weekend house at the river. They had to travel over 45 minutes to get there. They repaired the leak and I remembered another issue I had in my tub. Slight leak underneath but he said it was just a lack of sealant around the drain inside. He said I could just put some silicone around it before we left for the week and it would have several days to seal. He also told me how to fix another issue and he could have done it but he said it would take awhile for him to do and it would probably be more costly than I would want to pay (although he said he could and would do it if I had wanted him to). This company was referred by my plumber that does my work in Georgia and my weekend home is in Alabama and my original plumber said he was not licensed in Alabama. My plumber,Mike Tidd, said he grew up with the owner of Ace and I have known Mike from my old church. All very good people!

Description of Work: Fixed dripping faucets in one of my bathrooms…these were original fixtures from 1960 and they actually had a fix for it without needing to replace the entire faucet and possibly tearing out tile to get to them!

Description of Work: Needed work done on faucets in tub...these are the original fixtures installed in 1961! I could not turn the faucets off and water was dripping. They luckily had parts to use on them so I was soon good to go.

Description of Work: I called JD to stop my toilet from shaking because the ring that holds it in place had broken and they needed to take the toilet up and replace it. JD distracted me w/conversation while the other guy pretended he had come in and pulled the toilet up and replaced the part. Mind you the toilet stopped shaking but not because he did what he was suppose to do but Much to my surprise about a week later i found that he had put 2 little pieces of plastic under the toilet to level it and that is what stopped it from shaking. He charged me 90 dollars for 2pieces of plastic. i was upset and till this day (after i called JD and told him) he has yet to come out and correct this. Will never use him again or recommend him.
