Keith was extremely punctual from the start. After my initial phone conversation, he came to my house two days later for an estimate. I received the estimate that day. Work began approximately 4 days later. Overall I am extremely pleased with the quality of work. He chose better materials than what previously existed. He overestimated the effort to replace the posts, so when he completed the job, Keith offered to come back and help out with additional items around the house. (We were about to replace the deck boards on the front porch.) Keith is an honest, skilled contractor that I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Description of Work: We hired Keith to replace two rotten railing posts for the steps leading up to our front porch and he also rebuilt our gate a the top of the steps.

We only spoke in email. I wanted to screen in my deck and purchased a 'coupon' for the service for what I thought was a fairly quick and cheap project. However, when I described what I wanted done, the contractor responded with a plan that would have been much more costly. It just wasn't what I wanted and I cancelled.
Description of Work: Ultimately I did not use the service.

Rarely does anyone understand what some of these projects entail or the cost associated with them. I'm sure I discussed that we need to come out and look at the screened porch and assess the issue. Obviously, this person figured that what she thought was a $319.00 project, was exactly that. I,on the other hand, wanted to make sure and would have credited the money towards the job cost. I don't consider that to be of D rating. We prefer to service an "Educated Customer", as Sy Sims quoted. If you are not that person, please look elsewhere.

We really enjoyed working with Keith. He was a great communicator, which can be tough to find in a contractor. He was responsive to our request for an estimate, thorough in his estimate and ready to get to work quickly. Though Keith sourced a door for us at a low cost, we decided we wanted a more custom option, so we ended up delaying the project until we could get the door ordered and delivered, about 4-5 weeks. Keith was cooperative with our shift in time frame. When the project began, he was clear about what he needed from us, prompt in arriving every day and clear in what he'd be working on. It was just him doing the work, with the exception of a plumber he brought in to relocate a water line for our refrigerator - I trusted him in our home unattended during the day. The quality of the work was great - he did a great job sourcing trim to blend well with our 60 year old ranch home. He also did a nice job taking the original wood paneling from the 8' opening and using it to rebuild the wall where we were closing off a smaller doorway. We liked working with Keith and would definitely consider using him again for other larger home projects.
Description of Work: Put an 8' opening in a load-bearing wall, closed off a doorway in a second wall and refit a third doorway to install french doors.

The communication was great. I called him for a quote and he was quick to respond. We setup an appointment in less than a week from our initial contact. Keith showed up on time and we went over everything along with the material I'd need. We drove to Home Depot picked everything up and went to work. He did an excellent job with the kitchen island. There was a bit miscommunication on what I wanted for the wires being ran that resulted in a little more time needed which I can take responsibility for. I was working from home so I just briefly went over what I wanted in a hurry to get back to work. The job he did with the wires was good and I have a few critiques and complaints but overall happy with the work done. 1. Although I expected it the work went over the expected time but he worked through it instead of making me aware of the extra cost. Didn't bother me too much as I would have agreed to it anyway and it's not as though he was standing around not doing anything. I just wish he'd given me the opportunity to accept it in case I didn't have it. 2. The other complaint I have is with two of the holes that was put into the wall to run the wires. I told him I'd put the wall plates and the gain box in so that way it would be cheaper for me and I knew how to do it. Kinda regretted that. The top hole above the fireplace was cut perfect but the wire was ran through a stud and the hole in the stud was in the same place as where the bottom screw for the gain box needed to go. I got it to work after messing with it for awhile but would of preferred to pay for it. The second hole was a little different. Because I had only low voltage video cables I didn't worry about getting a gain box for and planned on screwing the wall plate into the drywall using anchors. Didn't think that one through, my fault again, but the hole he drilled for that one was too big. It's small enough for the wall plate to cover but its too large to where I can't screw in my wall plate. This wasn't a typical install and I can do things 100 times over and still mess that one up so I don't hold anything against him for that. All in all I'm satisfied with the work performed and not only recommended him to a couple of co workers but will also work with again. Thanks again Keith
Description of Work: Ran wires below house and behind fireplace installing an outlet and some AV cables. Also installed kitchen island (without counter top)

He made an agreement to call me on Saturday to verify our Sunday meeting but never did. Sunday I wind up calling him, because he was supposed to meet me in the morning at 8 am. He didn't come by, so I called him to see what happened. He was full of excuses that he didn't sleep well and didn't feel well but did say he would come over. He was very interested in receiving his $35 travel charge before agreeing to come over. He arrived unprepared to complete the job, and said he would come back to actually do the job in February. This was the first I heard of how booked he was and that this was just a visit for an estimate. The task I told him I wanted completed was caulking up a leak on the corners and in middle of my french style twin doors. He said it would cost more than what was agreed upon. Before purchasing the deal he explained to the representative it would take 3-4 hours so I figured I would have plenty of leeway purchasing the 6.5 hour deal. He did explain himself thoroughly concerning the job but I just don't agree with it.

There is quite a bit here that is incorrect. What is correct is I missed the appt. time due to due to some health issues. What isn't correct is: We never stated to anyone what something would take without looking at it! And I would never come Prepared do do anything without looking it over. Here are the facts: There is a patio slab outside her unit that has a Negative Grade: Which means water sits on the concrete patio and leaks under the plate of the exterior wall and wets the carpet. Now I'm no engineer, but I do know that it will take more than some caulk to fix this! And if she thinks otherwise, buy a tube and see if that works. We can fix the problem, but it'll take more than $319.00.

It went very well. Questions about details are always asked. Lots of issues arose (as they always do once you gut and see what you have to work with) and plenty of options were given to produce a solution. We were dealing with an older house that did not have plumb walls and having to match new materials up with old ones that don't easily match up. ultimately it ended up looking plum and seamless. The work is always timely, you know when they will be there and when they will not, and any sub-contractors are held to a high standard of timeliness and quality as well. The project went at a very speedy and timely pace, which is important when you are without a kitchen. Very pleased with the final results of all the work.

I am incredibly unhappy with the lack of service and lack of professionalism. I would avoid this man at all costs.
Description of Work: Mr. Tindle has been unprofessional at almost every point along the way. He charged me $35 to come look at my project but then wanted to come two hours early to our appointment. When I told him that I could not meet his request, he texted me the following: "I got to my appointment early both of them. I'm in front is like golf course right now not sure what to do for an hour and a half." He saw the project on 9/25/2015 and now, 17 days later has yet to actually give me a quote. AND, on top of all of that, he has started send me spam emails from his personal address including one about heart disease. I would NEVER contact him again and I would ask for my $35 back, but that would just be a greater waste of time.

I sent in our bid this morning before I saw this. She wanted to match an ornate front door unit within the house in a double-door capacity, Took many back-and-forths to convince her this wasn't available. After some more back and forths, I got some pricing and sent it off. We had a morning appt. and I was there early. She never stated that she couldn't talk to me until 12.00. I wouldn't have made the appt. that day if that was stated. She is a bit off, and will be trouble with anyone that works with her.

Thanks for the review. This guy purchased one of our coupons for $1200 off any job over $10,000, without ever discussing the project he had in mind. We remodeled the entire kitchen and a portion of his master bath: new cabinets and quartz counters and vessel sink. He left every decision in our hands; even when I asked his preferences, and it worked out great. The job was actually $21,895.00, before discounts. Thanks again.

I contacted Keith for a kitchen renovation project. After initial back and forth we fixed a time when he came by to inspect the job site. He had asked me to get a $35 check as part of the deal to just inspect the house and mentioned that he will credit the money if we selected him for the job but if we declined his services in spite of his ability to do it, then he would not be able to get the refund. So far, so good. The day came, and I and my husband took Kieth through what we had in mind for the house. We had a fair bit of idea of what we wanted to be done and at the same time were hoping that being a 'subject matter expert' Keith will be able to provide us valuable inputs about what's realistic and what's not (as well as better ways to do the job if any). Keith went around taking some measurements and insisting that the wall that we had in mind to be brought down was a load bearing wall (no, he did not even entertain the thought that it may be a non-load bearing wall), just asked us questions and finally said that he is going to come up with a renovation plan and let us know the budget in a week or so. A week and a call later he asked for another week to get back. Another week, detailed email and another call later, he writes back saying he doesn't think we are serious or informed enough about the project, that he thinks there are too many open issues in the project that he doesn't want to tackle, that he thinks we cant afford the pricing and that he couldn't fit us in his schedule !!!!! i sent follow up emails explaining our thoughts and how we approached his as the expert and that i was hoping to get his inputs as well. But he just came back again saying how he would not have taken the job even if he had the time ! So i asked him to give us a refund for the $35 since in spite of our interest, he was backing down and that too after wasting at least 2 weeks of our time during which we did nothing but wait for his response. not surprisingly, the arrogant man just writes back saying he wouldn't give any money back. Throughout our discussion he kept on telling us he will be sending us a plan soon - turns out it was all a big lie. Then he was so arrogant and unwilling to listen to us that i told my husband separately that I feel uneasy to discuss issues with him. He was unprofessional and almost cocky like that ! Since then I have found another nice contractor who did the renovation. Guess what, turns out it was NOT a load bearing wall after all and turns out we were ready to spend wayyy more than what Keith had imagined in his mind against us. So yeah, big time incapable that man/company is. And it's true when other people say this man has a big temper ! Do yourself a favor and leave him out of consideration from day one !!!!!!!!!!!!!! alina

I have a kitchen that I am trying to remodel and inquired about his schedule. I am a relatively busy guy, and we emailed back and forth within 36 hours of buying the 319 coupon. Then finally at around 1115, he calls me and tells me he is available for the afternoon. I felt kind of sheepish because I was not ready to use his services, but time was of the essence so I told him, just do what you do, like it was your project. He informed me about 2 or 3 hours in that I would need a plumber out, and to do some sheet rock work which would be extra. Ok. Well so after day one in which he worked about 4 hours (9/16), he came back the next day and worked for ~3 hours along with getting a plumber to come out. So the final bill was 719. (319 was credit from Angies list). He left a bill in the unit (9/17) sent me a text showing a picture. So if our interaction ended there, he gets an A. I wouldn't have been enthused by his work, but I liked the fact that he seemed available to get stuff done quickly, and I would be willing to pay a premium for that. He calls me up Tuesday 9.22 and leaves a vm. I don't call him back but he calls again in the evening. I tell him a check is in the mail. I actually take a closer look at what he did and thought to myself, man I have to have someone else out here to do more wall repair, it would've been nice if he would have done that while he was out, and that way I wouldn't have to have someone else come out to do it. So i wrote him an email saying that I was less than enthused with his work and stated why. He proceeds to write me back a longish diatribe about how I don't know "Zip" about construction etc etc. But then he sprinkles this nice little gem in there.. .". I own many properties, have been in this business for 30 yrs, and just a short conversation with you tells me you know zip about either. I reduced the prices on both the drywall covering and the plumbing, and I expect that check to pass thru the bank with zero issues. If not, you will understand my resolve very quickly." There is a reason that 30% of his customer's review his work at C or worse. I wish I would have seen that information prior to purchasing (my fault). Crazy to think someone with that can have an A rating (so i partly blame angie'slist), but in fairness to Angie'slist his "Recent" rating is a B. Something to think about when dealing with this person.
Description of Work: It was 319 for 6.5 hours of handyman services. He assembled cabinets, skimmed a wall. And had a plumber out to re run some plumbing. (Extra 250), and placed some sheetrock.

Let's talk about Diatribe! We did talk several times and I asked him to give me a schedule of a day that would work for him. He had 3-5 days notice to get his "stuff" together. I did come in late, as something came up. But when I did get there, had to organize what he had done; opened most every box and put together most of nothing. This is IKEA stuff; which must be done with organization; where he had given up, and stated as much. Somehow, he didn't understand that you can't install a sink base [Member Information Removed], where water/waste lines come from more than 1 direction. I suggested me needed a plumber. Regardless, he can b**** as much as he wishes, but I know the facts: he's not someone that anyone will continue doing business with. As far as his assessment of our service; we haven't completed 4 kitchens and 4 bathrooms this yr with Angies' List customers without them checking out our work and reputation.Grading is based only on people that were actual clients, not those where we didn't do any work. I'll take a good $33K review vs. a bad $319.00 one. I suspect it may have a bit more bearing. I'll leave it at that.

This provider was a total jerk on the phone. I called to find out about getting some work done on multiple homes and before I had a chance to finish, he interrupted me and told me about this fee for estimates. OK no big deal, so you charge $35. I'm more concerned about knowing if you can do the work or not. He was rude and not willing to LISTEN so he can understand the work that needs to be done. We both quickly realized that it would not be a good fit. He's a total jerk. Good luck in your business, he's not professional at al and I would not recommend this contractor. We will not give you pricing unless you own your property and then, there is still fee. Let someone else deal with this one, not us. 30 yrs in business and it won't change due to her.

Primarily, I needed to have some window frames repaired. The representative of Atlanta Custom Construction came out on Saturday to see what I needed done. He took measurements and told me what he could and could not do within the 6-1/2 hours I had purchased. He also said he would try to find the aprons for the windows, which may not be available because of the age of the house. He left stating he would order replacement screens, and would call me when they were ready. The screens were ready for pick-up on Wednesday and he called to let me know he would be at my house at 8:00 am on Thursday. He was right on time and went to Home Depot to buy the wood for the windows. He did a superb job on the windows. I had originally intending to replace the screens for the windows in the garage but then I decided to put the screens, which covered the whole windows, in place of the screens for two of our bedrooms, which only had one-half screens. He happily installed the hooks for the screens and changed them. I think he actually spent more than 6-1/2 hours but did not charge me for any additional time.

The job is done. It went smoothly. Keith showed up right on time and ready to go. He made changes to the cabinets and we are now ready for the oven. The cabinets had to be removed and slightly relocated to accommodate the new larger oven from the old very small oven that was there. Happy with the work. Cleaned up nicely made several adjustments and it will be perfect. Thank you! Highly recommend. Will be contracting Keith on next project.

It went very well. Even though there were a few hiccups once we opened up the space, Keith still completed the job in the time frame he originally stated. Keith was very timely with when he started every day, and held his subs up to that same timely standard. He was very clean while he worked and always swept up after he was done, or even while he was working. He was very good at communicating when he had an issue or if something in the job was unclear. He was respectful of my thoughts and with what I wanted even if it went against his recommendation. He is a detailed worker but still works pretty quickly and efficiently. I enjoyed getting to know him and felt comfortable with him in my home.

Do not like buying offer on Angie's List without knowing Provider availability. Process should allow Provider to respond to request for services, then process payment if parties agree to schedule. I had to make a number of calls to cancel payment. Luckily I used American Express, would have called them to cancel next time.
Description of Work: Provider responded immediately, very professional. Unfortunately, he was unavailable to perform services within my timeframe. Would use again in the future.

I called Keith mid-April, along with a number of other providers to get an estimate on the work indicated above. He indicated that he couldn't provide an estimate over the phone and had to come out to see the deck and the cost would be $35 for the estimate, which would then be applied to cost of the job. I agreed to that. He came out, I paid him, and a few days later provided a very detailed estimate of the work and cost, which I agreed to. I have a very crazy job and travel a lot for work and I wanted to be home when Keith did the work, since it was my first time working with him. I was going to be in a position where I could actually be home the week after Memorial Day and we agreed that would be the week he would come out. (Over one month after his initial visit.) In early May he contacted me saying that he needed to reschedule my job. During our discussion he indicated that he got a much bigger paying job and so he had to move mine. A part of me understood; however we made an agreement. This was the only week where I could be home. I suggested some alternative dates and he asked for me to leave a key for him so he could come and do the work when I wasn't home. He said I didn't need to be there. When I indicated I was uncomfortable letting someone in my house I had just met, he got extremely combative. Didn't think he could work with someone who didn't trust him. Didn't understand why I didn't trust him. I spent a total of 10 min on the phone with him in the course of a month, along with 15 min in person when he came out to do the estimate. All in all...he's a stranger!!! I'm not going to let a stranger in my home when I'm not there!!! When I continued to express my discomfort in leaving a key, he in essence said, well maybe we should not work together and left it at that. I'm extremely frustrated at his attitude in the whole situation. When I initially met him, I indicated my preference to be home when the work was performed, that's why we picked the week we did, which HE AGREED TO. Honestly I think he never really wanted the business to begin with and when a better gig came along he used any excuse to drop me even after cashing my check for the estimate. I had to begin the whole process again to vet contractors and ultimately found one who did the work, at a much more reasonable price, AND accommodating my schedule. I would never consider working with Keith again and urge others to beware.
Description of Work: Keith came out a did a quote for some repairs I needed on my deck, pressure washing, and restaining. The "B" grades above are representative of the estimate and punctuality at arriving at my house to conduct that estimate.

I did meet with this person and there was to be that he had to be there, as there was a trust issue and I needed to have access to the upper deck, and water. Then our schedules didn't work and I asked for him to hide a key somewhere and I'd try to fill this in between a few jobs already booked. That wasn't acceptable so I was waiting on a time to get this done. He cancelled and wrote this book about these issues a day or so before I was going to try and get him covered. This wasn't a major issue, but we had to have full sun for a few days and timing; didn't work out. No need to get this upset! Life happens, just not to all of us.

Keith replaced an old shower insert with a new insert, including a new drain kit with plumber involvement. He painted ceiling, walls, and trim. He replaced door jamb to toilet with casement opening. Work occurred over 4 days. He completed the project to my satisfaction.

While others complained that Keith charges for estimates, I found that I received better attention. The $35 charge was included in the work (not an extra) Work was completed professionally and with craftsmanship and detail with a small over-run in total cost.
