They did an excellent job repairing the major cracks and flaws in the masonry. They didn't repair smaller cracks that were discussed during the estimate process but that they felt were significant. I called Richard and he said they would be out next week to fix those smaller cracks but they never showed. I was scheduled to go out of town when they were working and before I left they said the were going to finish the next day so I wrote them a check. If you are going to use this contractor, mark every single crack that you expect to be fixed for the quoted amount.

I think Angie's List need to drop them like a hot potato. The whole situation was absolutely ridiculous. They got my name, I contacted them, the guy shows up and he looks at the project, stands there and gives me an estimate to my face and says this is the price. I said could you please put this in writing, and send an email put it in writing so I'll know what it is and sign off on it. I get an email, the price is exactly what he told me it would be, he described the work. I said "great", let’s go ahead and do the work. That's when the trouble started. For six weeks, it was excuse after excuse of why it couldn't get started. Somebody was sick, this happened, and then the weather. I can't control the weather, so that was fine. Seven weeks later, I called the guy up. I said hey, things have been drying up and am I going to get on the schedule. He basically said that he looked at the estimate and his secretary messed up and gave him the wrong price. I'm like, you been telling me for six weeks it's just a matter of time before you do my project and you never mentioned the price. Now I'm hunting him down and he's telling me the price is invalid and that it's somebody else's fault. Here I am trying to get my house ready to sell, and six, seven, eight weeks down the road now trying to find a new contractor. That guy does not need to be in business and he certainly doesn't need to be somebody that Angie's List would instruct anybody to go to. It was a free quote. It looked like a valid and reasonable estimate. I thought I was moving ahead, but he lead me on thinking he's going to do something. He stalled me and then finally in the end he blamed someone else for the price. He was the one that came out and took the measurements. He told me to my face the price, and then followed up with a written estimate. The only thing that was good is that he showed up after I made the initial request for an estimate. Firstof all, if that wasn't a real number, he should have given me a real number. Don't blame it on somebody else, take ownership, and be responsible. If you know you blew the estimate have the decency to contact me and say that you under bid it, I'm sorry and re-bid it. I would of took the re-bid initially, I just wanted the work done. I would have looked at it to see if it's worth it. He didn't even have the decency to do that, he just made excuses and kept putting it off. When I called him, he was like he figured out a week ago that it was a bad price, and that it was his secretary's fault. I said oh for a week now you knew you were not going to do the job and didn't bother to call me back. It was a good price. I want people to know to avoid this guy. I called them because I couldn't get anybody else. I live in Atlanta and the construction business around here is so hot, you can't get anybody. He was one of the few that actually showed up initially.
Description of Work: They gave an estimate for driveway work, it wasn't the full driveway. There was even a variable because I have some stuff underneath the driveway that needed to be dug out.

Terrible. It was supposed to be underground and only 1/4 of the backside of it is covered with dirt. The inside ceiling is suppose to be galvanized metal and it is all rusting like crazy!!! We have pictures of all of this to verify. Plus NO vent was put in to allow any airflow so there is so much condensation (which accounts for the extensive rusting) and he did NOT want to put a door on it and when I reminded him that he told me it would be a COMPLETED job, he did put a "flimsy" metal door in which he SAID cost $600 I am Fully doubtful that this is true. I would have to see the receipt to belive this. AND he was suppose to seal the blocks to keep the inside dry. The inside stays very wet where they side walls have lots of water seepage!!! This is a joke for a Storm shelter!!! We have filed suit against him and his attorney has already called us wanting us to settle for $1000, which we refused, explaining, we did not want the money, we want the job corrected or want a full refund so we can find a REPUTABLE Builder to do the work correctly. $1000 will NOT fix what needs to be fixed as they will have to dig out all the dirt from the back sides and the back and they had "dumped" huge limbs and debris from the trees they took down prior to the storm shelter all in the pit behind it. someone will have a very difficult time getting all of that out of there to repair and seal the building!!! Also he had agreed (different job earlier) To grade, clean up trees that had been bulldozed down and was to plant grass on the slopes. He did ot do any of that either. Because he said he widened the driveway. He did to a slight extent. But should have still fullfilled his promise. NONE of what he said would be done was done to the specifications that we both agreed on! I had full witnesses there when he was talking to us telling us what he wanted and would do! I paid him the full prices that he had asked for. I feel like he should have kept his end of the bargain!!! So I guess Now along with another contractor that states the job was NOT done professionally or correctly, and my other witnesses, and my pictures of the dripping water and seeping walls and rusting ceiling......we will let the Judge decide!

There are many things I like about Richards company and the people he has working for him. 1st: Excellent Communications from the inital callback to the completion of the project. 2nd: A Team that gets the job done promptly. Job was projected to take two days, one day of grading and one day of concrrete work, they accompliched it in one day. 3rd: Quality of work, totally surpassed what I expected. 4th: Craftsmanship. The job far exceed my expectations, excellent work. 5th: Flexibility and creativity. Both myself and neighbor had agreed on a concrete flume, as he was down hill from my poperty and he gets rain runoff. Water was going to be on his driveway no matter what, our agreed deign was going to put clean watter versus red clay water on his driveway. The Team was in the process of building the flume, out comes my neighbor threatening to call the law on them (I guess he forgot what we had agreed on two weeks before). Richards team put the brakes on, called me and came up with a different design to expand the concrete about an additional 5 yards down my driveway to redirect the runoff. Additionally they expanded the size of the drivepad expansion and put what I can best describe as a curb running the length of the Drivepad. I was amazed at how absolutlley perfect the whole design was. They put in much additional effort then what was agreed upon with no additional cost. I highly recommend Richard and his team for all concrete work and will definitely use them in future projects.
Description of Work: Drivepad expansion, I believe the initial estimate was 7-8 Yards of concrete. Basically expansion on three sides of my drivepad, expansion from the original drive pad ranged from 25 feet down to about three feet. The project was to serve two purposes: 1st to add/expand my drive pad with an area large enough for me to parrk a second vehicle and 2nd: to eliminate rain runoff of red clay onto my neighbors driveway. To accomplish this we Initially agreed to the size of the drivepad and a concrete flume to control water flow.

Richard was a smooth talker. I called him for the concrete work, and he talked me into the tree clearing and hydroseeding. His concrete work was very good, but Richard did not do that part. He hired someone else for the concrete work. His leveling out of the yard was terrible. There are ruts up to six-inches deep in many parts of the yard. The hydorseeding never took, and I have had to sod most of the yard. I called him numerous times (probably 30 in all) about fixing the ruts in the yard and re-seeding. He always told me he would be there in a day or two. He never came back. I may have been overcharged. I called two other people about clearing the trees, and they were all close in price, but I talked with another contractor a few months later about some other concrete work, and he said I paid too much for what he had done. I don't feel like Richard is a man of his word. He told me he would guarantee his work, but once I paid him, he ceased to be helpful anymore.
Description of Work: They cleared about one-fourth acre of pine trees. They poured a concrete patio and driveway. They hydroseeded the yard.
