The service went very well. Michael and his wife (aasistant) showed up on time performed the work requested. I will be contacting them again next year to open the pool and set the equipment up for the season.

We purchased a home with a spa located on the lower patio outside the terrace room. We called the company that sold and installed the unit for a service call to get it cleaned and operating. The service tech said the heater may need replaced as it was not heating. We paid a nice sum for the cleaning and filling of the spa, only to have them quote another pricey rate to come back out. That?s when we decided to use Angie?s List for a recommended repair shop close to our home. Thankfully we found Mike with SolarFlair Pools & Spas. After a brief conversation on the phone he volunteered to come over ON A SUNDAY afternoon to take a look. And since he lived close by said he would not charge a service call fee. Combining that nice offer with his high ranking on Angie?s List I invited him over. To make a long story short; after a quick look ?under the hood? he got the heater operating and within hours it was cooking at a ripe 104 degrees. We highly recommend Mike for any of your pool or spa repair needs!

When we bought our house, the inspector noticed there was moisture and a dripping under our deck, just below the location of the hot tub. We were concerned that the leaking could lead to extensive damage to our deck, so we called around for an estimate to come fix it. We called several places in the Atlanta area and found that it would cost about $180 just to have someone come out, plus $90 per hour to find the source of the leak. YIKES! We finally stumbled on Mike who agreed to give an $80 estimate, which we were happy with. Mike came on time, and after looking around and inside the compartments on the hot tub decided there was no leak. The dripping was probably due to condensation since the hot tub sits right on the deck and doesn't allow airflow underneath it. Mike advised raising the hot tub in some way (maybe with 2x4s). We had never owned a hot tub before moving to this house, and had no sense of how to operate it or take care of it. While he was here, Mike spent about 30 minutes teaching me how to empty and fill the hot tub, clean it, and what checmicals to use and how often. He taught us how to change and clean the filters too. Mike was pleasant and prompt, and overall we were very happy with his service call.

Mike was very courteous and professional. He showed up on time to our house. My wife and I were not home yet, so Mike called us and asked permission to proceed. Our spa is right up against the corner of our deck, with baluster rails on either side, so 2 of the spa side panels are difficult to remove. I failed to take down these side railings before Mike arrived, but he was able to work around it and still access the spa panels. Mike quickly determined that the spa pump bearings were bad and the pump needed to be replaced. He explained this to my wife and I, and provided a quote to replace the pump. Mike's labor rates are very reasonable, and he did a great job.

Our experience with Solar Flare was excellent. We usually leave our pool open year around. We decided to close it this year. The big pool store wanted in excess of $300 by the time you purchased the chemicals and other items needed. Mike quoted me $150.00 - and told me what type of water bags, skimmer gizzo and plugs to purchase. He blows out the lines and plugs them and does not use antifreeze or other chemicals - like the big pool stores tell you to. He told me in his 12 years of experience, he had never had a problem with his process. I had done my research and found that Mike's process was more the preferred way. Because we had never closed our pool Mike had to work extra hard to remove the return "pieces" - not sure what to call them - before he could plug them. But he was success in doing this. Mike's wife, Summer (I believe) worked with him. They worked well together to get the job done in a timely fashion. Mike is very knowledgable and actually educated me on some things I did not know. We are not sure if we will still be in the house next summer. If we are, we will definitely call Mike. If not, we will be recommending Mike to the new owners. One a side note..... the water bags hold the cover so well that when my 110 dog decided to check in out not long after Mike left; he found himself walking on water (on the cover). He has never been in the pool; and runs at the sight of water if he thinks he is going to get wet. It was a funny sight. Thank you Mike for a job well done. Norma

We haven't purchased the home yet, but Solar Flare Pools came by and did the pool. We haven't purchased anything from him yet, no services yet other than an inspection. He was fantastic. It was our second viewing of the house so on our way out the door I pulled up Angie's List and put in pool maintenance and his name came up because he was in my area. We called him to come over to the house and told him what we needed and he said, "No problem. I'll meet you there in five minutes." He was true to his word and he showed up within about five minutes and said that he knew the area and was from the area, so he was able to go right to the house and meet us there. It was more than what we could have expected. It was fairly reasonable to come out and give his expertise and to inspect the pool and tell us what we're up against. We have to buy covers for the pool to get us through the winter and we will purchase it through him and we got to get the pump up starting in the spring and we will use him again. In a matter of fact our real estate agent was so impressed with him she's going to start using him for her own personal pool.

Mike at Solar flares took over my pool service of a new home I just bought in the Canton Area. I was out of state for several months before moving in. He took excellent care of my pool during that period of time.Since then I have continued to use his monthly cleaning and chemical service and the pool has stayed sparkling clean all summer long. He is always responsive to questions and provides a top notch service for a very reasonable price compared to the competition. He is a definite recommendation to anyone I know needing pool service.

Our pool pump stopped working so we called Mike. He came out the next day and checked it out to confirm it just needed a replacement starter capacitor. The following day he returned and installed it. The pump is working again without having to spend extra $$ on a new motor, etc.. Honest guy.

I was interested in purchasing a security cover for the pool and engaged Solar Flare to provide the service. The entire process was efficient and effortless. Mike ordered the cover and installed it in a timely manner. I am very pleased with the product and the service. I will definitely use Solar Flare in the future.

We have been very pleased

Our pool had become cloudy from algae and we were having trouble clearing it up. The pool technicians we had previously used let us down. One promised on several occasions to come out, but never did. The other said he was leaving on vacation in a couple of days and was too busy to come out - what pool service people go on vacation during pool season? Frustrated, I turned to Angie's list to find a highly rated, reliable pool service company. Sure enough I found Solar Flare Pools right in my own town. I called Mike, the owner, and told him of my problem. He promised to come over as soon as he finished the job he was on. True to his work, Mike showed up. He looked the pool over and we covered with him what we had done. He diagnosed the problem and told us what we needed. He gave us the option of getting it and doing it ourselves, or let him do it. We chose to let him do it. He made a list of everything he needed and the next morngin he was out treating our pool. Within a couple of days, we were back in business. Mike even called to follow up with us. From this point on, we'll call Mike whenever we need pool service. He was extremely professional and pleasant to work with.

Mike came out to check on a leak and an inoperative pump. He quickly diagnosed that the leak was caused by a splitting seam in the sand filter, and moisture had entered the motor, causing it to seize up. I ordered the new pump and filter which arrived in just a couple of days. Once I notified Mike that the parts were in, he made time for me the next day to install the parts and test the system. I might add that Mike was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. I will DEFINITELY use Solar Flare Pools again! I'm even considering on signing up for his pool maintainance service. You can't beat the quality of service, professionalism, and price that Mike has to offer.

My pump died and although Mike was extremely busy he found time to come over that day. Two days later had another issue and he came by after hours to make sure we got my pool up and running! He showed up when he said he would, knew the equipment and didn't try to over sell me on other services! I will definetly use Mike and Solar Flare Pools again and HIGHLY recommend him!

We bought a house where he was involved with pool maintenance and repair since it was built 5 years ago. He has been very knowledgeable and available as we have settled in and learned how to best take care of a salt pool. Several of the parts (heater, polaris pump, electrical equipment) have malfunctioned or broken, and he has repaired everything for a good price and without any problems. He is professional, prompt, and very pleasant. I recommend him without reservations.
