I should note this is the third time I have employed this company. They previously painted the exterior and later the interior at my old house, and once we purchased a six year old house that needed paint they were my first call. I did compare pricing with my neighbors who used two other contractors, and as David's quote was right in line I chose to go with him based on past experience. Weather has been a challenge in our area, so while we wanted to get moving we also realized it might be a couple of weeks. To my surprise, they contacted me very quickly and noted they had a window of time and wanted to get started. The total project took three days. Saturday was pressure washing day, and they then did the prep/wood repair/priming/painting on Monday and Tuesday. From a prep and prepare standpoint, they not only fixed the observed wood rot but they also found another board on the back of my chimney they felt needed replaced and they fixed that one at no additional cost. I also like that they used hardiplank on the trim boards...no more wood rot! Caulking was first class. I know from my old house the quality was there as when I sold it six years after painting my Realtor couldn't believe it had been painted that many years ago as the caulk and paint was in such great shape. Regarding paint, all was done using Sherwin Williams Super Paint. We liked the color of the house, and David took one of the pieces of siding and trim and did a custom match. We wanted just a shade darker, and he suggested having it matched and then mixed at "125% strength". The color was absolutely perfect. I also like that David prefers to use a satin paint on the siding. It has a slight sheen to it (which I like), but more importantly it lasts longer and stays looking great longer than flat. I also know this to be the case from my old house. The crew that was onsite was excellent and I am very pleased with the quality. I have a stained front door and was not planning on them doing anything there, but they suggested it would benefit from a clear poly sealer being applied. They did that as well and it looks great. They went around the house several times looking for touch up opportunities and I think I only found one or two areas for them to fix, and even those were nits. The little touches make the difference, and one of those was them pulling all the decorative hardware off my garage door and repainting that before it was reinstalled. That may be standard, but I didn't expect it. I also have a lot of decorative trim on a large front porch and they did a fantastic job on a very tedious piece of work. I also had some wood shutters that were in pretty bad shape with paint peeling. They stripped them down, resealed them with primer, and then repainted them. They now look fantastic. Finally, they did a great job cleaning up and hauling away everything. They even swept the sidewalk when done. In another year or two I plan to do some interior painting and you can bet who I will be hiring.
