A tree that was in our yard had fallen into our neighbor's, but it was leaning against another tree. It was very dangerous. I had to call someone immediately. I was also worried about another dead tree that was close to a window, plus I needed some trees pruned. I called and Mark, the owner, answered (WOW!). He told me that he comes out and provides a complete assessment of the trees in the yard for $149, which is applied to any work that he does. At first I was worried about that, but I was relying on the fact that his company was #1 on Angie's list, which was the whole reason I signed up for AL. Since he had the most positive reviews of any other provider, I felt very comfortable and agreed. Mark came out the next day and looked everything over. I was worried that some trees I pointed out would need to be cut down, leading to more expense, but he said they were fine. He was very thorough and knowledgeable about trees, down to the molecular level. I pleasantly surprised! Most assessments usually lead to you spending more, but this experience was the exact opposite. Mark gave me an estimate of the entire job (two trees, pruning of two others) of $1,500 and his crew came out the same day (read on, he actually lowered the price). They not only did all of the work to perfection (they didn't hurt any of our property or landscaping), they even pulled up the tree pieces from a ravine and cut them into smaller chunks that were manageable. This took quite a bit longer, but he didn't charge me any additional for this. He could have taken everything with him, but it was less expensive to leave it, so we are going to use it in our fire pit. I was grateful they left the wood in chunks that we could manage ourselves. Finally, he gave me $200 off of the price because I paid with a check. If I ever need tree work done, I will be calling 770-ARBORIST. Hands down, a company you can trust to do the right thing. It's worth it to know that the job will be done right and by professionals. Oh, I need to mention that he asked me if we would like to keep the mulch from the trees he cut down, plus the mulch from a previous job at no cost, and I said YES. We spent our weekend spreading it, but it would have cost hundreds if we had had to purchase the mulch ourselves. Now my backyard (normally woods) looks amazing!

It was pretty good. It was one of Angie's List Big Deals. We pretty much went through every tree. I had questions about the tree. I had no idea what it was and he was able to find the name because he participates in a network of other arborists. There was a tree that I had no idea what it was and it ended up being a hazelnut tree so I am glad I didn't cut it down. There was a red maple tree that wasn't doing anything and he told me it wasn't fig and gave me some recommendations to make the fig tree fuller.

I purchased the arborist service provided by 1-770-Arborist. I was wanting an unbiased analysis of the trees on our lot rather than just calling a tree service and having them hack away. There was one dead hardwood and some of our huge pine trees were of concern to me. Four days after purchase, Mark showed up at our house exactly at the promised time. He then took a look at each tree, discussing its health and any concerns he had about them. He took his time and asked if I had any questions several times. Mark was thorough and professional. While he does also provide tree removal services, and did provide an estimate at my request, there was no pressure whatsoever to hire him for that phase of our tree project. He keeps his arborist role separate from his tree service role. I would recommend Mark without reservation, but once you have his evaluation, I suggest getting competitive bids from other highly rated tree removal services as well. You are then well armed with the information Mark provided and can tell the tree services exactly what you require. Thank you, Mark!

It took a few weeks before he could come out, but it was not urgent. He arrived on time and completed the requested evaluations. He quoted me several options while he was there. Everything was fine.

I had some trouble reaching him initially, but he explained that he some issues with his family and I understood. The deal had lapsed and he still came out and honored it. The work turned out fine. When he came, he had a sort of beat up car. He did a good job and cleaned up well.

There were no issues with the work or scheduling. They hauled all of the debris away. My experience with them was fine.

When they got here, they had all of their equipment and completed all of the work that we had asked them for. They did a good job and the price was fair. They hauled every bit of debris away and cleaned up wonderful. They even quoted work for our neighbor who then hired them and they were happy with them too.

Mark was in the neighborhood when I contacted him, he gave me a great price and was unrealistically fast. They were very safe, friendly and cleaned up better than I cared for them to. I called my neighbors, he gave at least one quote to them while he was here...

1 Oct Update....Mark stopped by and gave us a review of our trees.....he was exceptional in his knowledge and how he presented that knowledge to us. He told us which trees were doing well and which trees were not doing so well. The tree in our front yard was being eaten from the inside out and he told my husband exactly how he needed to treat the tree. It's been several weeks and the tree is doing much better. Thank you!!!!!

Mark is extremely knowable and enthusiastic about his profession. We had full confidence that he could take care of our old oak tree that was in badly need of pruning. Mark and his crew did an excellent job and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Mark came to my home to consult with me about my dying Japanese Cherry Tree and also checked tall pines and other trees that I was worried about. He then carefully reviewed with me which trees were damaged, which needed to be removed for safety issues. I made an appointment for a day for his crew to come. They arrived promptly and were very careful not to damage landscape plantings. They removed seven trees and some shrubs, cleaned up the property and removed all debris. All members of his crew were wonderful. I would recommend 770-Arborist to anyone needing tree removal or advice.

I am trying to save a tree in my yard after losing a similar one in the backyard. He not only told me what was wrong with the tree but causes of the problem, when the problem developed, and factors that are keeping this problem going. He gave me a schedule of when the tree needs treating and how often. He went into detail to explain that the tree may not have this problem every year and gave me a few accurate suggestions of ways to keep the tree healthy. He not only gave me details but gave me the "big picture". He was courteous and called me back within 15 minutes of my original call. It was quite apparent that he is an intelligent, customer service oriented person, I would highly recommend this company to everyone I know. Working with intelligent people who are good decent people is important to me. Thanks again.

Came out and checked a tree that had been struck by lighting. I was worried about the tree falling so I called and Mark was out in 2 days which I was grateful for since the tree had me worried. He was very professional and told me what he thought about the condition of the tree and the steps that I needed to watch for to see how bad it was hurt and based on that when it would need to be taken down. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a tree checked out.

Mark came out to review our trees and we decided to use him to remove 3 of them. He was very knowledgeable and actually saved me money by letting me know that one of my new trees was diseased. I was able to get a refund. Would definitely use him again.

WOW! Mark is amazing and very professional. As someone that has been burned badly in the past, I'm always cautious in dealing with contractors on any type of job. Mark made me feel comfortable and never once did I have any problems, questions, or doubts. He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about trees and took the time to explain everything in DETAIL. Once the assessment was done, we scheduled for him to come take down my trees. He was prompt being there with his crew and equipment ready to go! One of my trees had three trunks, was very large, and tight between my house and fence. These guys took their time and cut it down foot by foot until it was completely gone. I was amazed, they knew their trade and did it perfectly. The clean up was great as well. They had to deal with an unexpected hornet's nest, but they worked around it and eventually cleaned up every last bit. A few days later, they came out to grind the stumps. I was expecting a huge mess, pieces everywhere, and to my surprise and pleasure, they were both in a nice pile surrounding where the stumps used to be. In addition to everything, he repaired a bad cut on a large oak tree that another contractor incorrectly cut a few years ago. Overall, I would use Mark again and refer him to everyone I hear that needs tree work!! Hands down one of the best experiences yet!

The assessment was thorough, professional and enjoyable. I learned a ton about the trees on my lot. The recommendations were sensible and reasonable. The pruning and removal work were done efficiently and on time. I could not have asked for a better experience start to finish.

Mark was awesome! He came out and gave me an estimate for my trees; I have a 1/2 acre lot full of them. He was very, very knowledgeable and able to clearly explain why certain things are as they are and why things need - or don't need - to be done. And we need a LOT done. (He wasn't trying to sell me what I don't need; I'd heard similar things from other tree services.) Mark also was very honest about when the work needs to be done (not now, it can wait) and how long I can expect my trees to live. I am very grateful that he was able to give me such good advice. The only reason I wrote "services not provided" is because we won't do the work for a while.

I contacted Mark again, asking if he would take a look at our tree and provide and estimate. He came out a couple of days later to see first hand what we had. I talked with him later that day and he said he could remove the tree, but encouraged me to keep the tree and showed me the reasons I wanted to remove the tree were not well thought out. So Mark spent at least an hour of phone time with me and then drove 45 minutes, one way, to our home and evaluated our situation. All for nothing on his part. He didn't charge me anything. I am very impressed with Marks knowledge and honesty. If you need an arborist, I would highly recommend Mark. You can't go wrong, he will make sure you fully understand what he will do and you can rest assured he will do what he says.

Mark Russell came to look at one of the trees in my backyard. I was concerned about the areas of the trunks where pruning was done about seven years ago. I wanted to know if there was a potential for rot developing in those areas and if anything can be done about it. Mark took the time to explain what was doing on in those areas and the available options. He was very knowledgeable. He also looked at other trees in the backyard to see if any of them needed attention. Mark was friendly and courteous, and provided unbiased advice. I will be happy to contact him again in the future should I need help with any of the trees on my property.

I have a property with a lot of tall trees. I needed him to come out and prune what needed to be pruned and do whatever care that needed to be done to the trees. He mentioned that the trees are in their growth process and pruning needed to be done when they're in their sleep process.

Mark Russell helped us with a very difficult and sad problem. We had 11 healthy Leyland Cypress trees on the edge of our property that had been planted by the previous owner about 15 years ago. They had been planted too close together, grown to enormous size and had another 15 or so feet to grow according to Mark. They had dropped limbs into our neighbor's yard and she was quite unhappy. According to Mark, they were behaving just like Leylands and would continue to do so. Thinning and/or pruning were not options. Removal was the only peace-keeping solution, but they would need access to our neighbor's property as well as ours. Mark went with me to talk it through with our neighbor and gained her permission to come on her property. On the day of service he brought a crew of 6, completed the work in less than 4 hours, meticulously cleaned up both properties and again went with me to be certain that all was well at and with the neighbor. We cannot thank him enough for his professionalism, his fair pricing, his thoroughness and his courtesy. It was a joy to do business with him and we will most certainly use 1-770 Arborist again.

My son contacted me for advice after a large pine fell during a storm, damaging their deck and part of their roof. In addition to removing the tree that fell, he was concerned about some of the other trees near the house, overall health of these trees, and if they should take down any other trees that might be hazards. I recommended he contract a Tree Company with a Certified arborist and found "1-770-Arborist" on Angie's List. I suggested he contact them & a couple of other companies I found thru Angie's List to give their professional recommendation and provide a quote for the service. Jesse selected "1-770-Arborist" to do the work & requested I post this review he provided on the service performed: We had a tree come down and impact the house, and as a result, we wanted an arborist to inspect our other trees and provide recommendations for any other trees that needed to be removed. Mark came out to the house and thoroughly and patiently inspected our trees, explained what he was looking for, and why he was making certain recommendations. I had a much greater degree of confidence in Mark's assessment than in any of the other companies that provided an estimate. Our confidence in Mark was rewarded when it came time to take out the trees. He and his crew not only worked extremely hard (easily a 12 hour day), but they obviously took great care to limit the damage done to the yard. We had 2 large pines taken out and several smaller trees,and there is minimal visual evidence that any work took place at all. He and his crew took time to blow the entire yard clean, and Mark even offered to come back another day to do additional clean-up, once the log service picked up the larger logs. I highly recommend Mark and 770-Arborist. It is hard to imagine that we would use anyone else for future work.

Mark gave me valuable information that will hopefully help me save some trees that are having trouble in my yard. He was very helpful, professional and prompt. I would use him again if I have a tree issue.

They are absolutely excellent. We also used them 5 years ago and spent $5,000.
