We loved working with Gary King—he has many years of experience and you can count on him to show up and do the job RIGHT! Would hire him again for any project, especially carpentry, as that’s where he really stands out. Highly recommend.

It went great. Gary is very friendly and doesn't waist time. The job was completed with quality and in a timely manner. I highly recommend King Construction.

Mr. King did an amazing job! He also talked to is about ways to cut costs. His work was impeccable, he was there when he said he would be there, and he finished sooner than I expected him to. I would definitely recommend him.

Great it turned out better than I ever expected

Gary’s great! Very personable, professional and definitely knows his craft. I had 4 companies come to give me an estimate on my expanded deck with screen room and fence, Gary’s quote was the most reasonable. It took longer to complete than the other estimates I received b/c he hired no crew but I wasn’t pressed for time and was more appreciative of the cost difference.

Great! Ended up with a beautiful deck exactly the way we wanted!

I am somewhat reluctant to write this review because then you will all want to have Gary King come work for you. Which will make it harder for me to get hold of him! He is terrific. I feel like he can do anything. Projects that have been on hold for 20 years for lack of finding a good person—he takes them on. So of course I try to find more. He re-grouted my shower, put in bars for use if I become handicapped. He replaced the girders under my deck and put metal over the posts to prevent water from seeping in. He pressure washed everything and the job was far superior to previous pressure washings I have had. Everything is stained now and looks great. His prices are very reasonable. AND he is delightful to talk to. Knows when to talk, when to be quiet. A very calm, relaxed demeanor.

Gary King can be relied on to do excellent work. He is detail-oriented and can be counted on to do what is necessary without supervision. We used him previously to replace our deck, which exceeded our expectations. This time he handled a number of diverse tasks well.

Gary King of King Construction did excellent work at my house. During a bad storm, a tree limb went through the roof and came through the ceiling, so a long list of things needed repairing. He came promptly to give the estimate and when I asked him if he could do some other repairs while he was here, he was gracious in adding to his list of items to address and completed everything to my satisfaction. I will have him back to do other repairs, for sure!

The company was prompt, reasonable, responsive, and efficient.

We had Gary redo our entire master bathroom; from ripping out the old, moldy shower compartment, the built-in jacuzzi and attached vanity, and all the tile on the floors and walls, to re-tiling the whole thing, painting, installing all the fixtures, the tub, toilet, and new vanity. The work shows great attention to detail and is beautifully finished. Gary made sure we knew exactly what was going on and when, and explained anything we weren't sure about so we could be confident in our decisions. It took about a month and a half but some of that was waiting on deliveries of the tile, tub, and vanity. We've been getting a lot of compliments

Mr. King did absolutely excellent work. He was always punctual, friendly, and exceptionally hardworking. He worked beautifully with my painters to ensure everything was done quickly and with nobody interrupting the other. Best of all, he was very willing to offer his opinions on other potential repair work, in my case a bit of saggy flooring. I would recommend him to anybody who needs repair work, and especially to anybody needing work done on a wooden screen porch as that is getting harder to find these days.

The work was completed as scheduled in spite of daily rain and scorching temperatures. Gary knew what needed to be done to make the deck safe. He adapted plans to problems that were uncovered as the work progressed. We are very pleased with his work, and would hire him again. He is very pleasant to work with.

Gary had great ideas, did a great job. Worked hard removing decking and removed all wood and lattice. Also, pressure washed patio and driveway. Drapes hung and touched up paint. At my husbands office pressured washed sidewalk and curbing. Painted curbing. Hard working and honest man.

Gary and Deb were great! Called them with the project and they responded quickly. The work was done right and on time. Would use again for projects.

Don't blame Gary for my design choices. I chose and bought all the materials. But Gary installed them expertly. He's a particularly good painter, in my opinion. He had no trouble installing anything. He was great to be around while the work was being done, and my kids love him so much, I'm afraid they are going to break something just to get him to come back. He did suggest a pocket door, because our bathroom is tiny. It was such a great idea. He was also able to install the specialty tile that I ordered. When I sent my picture of the finished product to the tile company, they said, "Looks like an A+ installation!" His prices were fair. The price I listed in this review is for work, not materials. We love Gary and plan to hire him anytime we need something. I hope he doesn't plan on retiring soon!

Not good. His carpentry was fine. Drywall work was average. His electrical work was way not to code, I'm still trying to fix some of the wiring he messed up. His cabinet making skills are C- high school woodshop quality. I had to rip out what he made and build my own. I think Gary would be fine building a deck or putting up a fence, but he is no way qualified to do general contracting work. Big mistake on my part hiring a non-licensed person to do the work I wanted.

I called/left message with Gary King of King Construction (Cairo, GA) on recommendation of 2 men who do pressure washing for me. They told me Gary is in high demand and very busy. It was a while until Gary called. A planned job was delayed so he had a small window of opportunity to do my job. He seemed very experienced and I trusted his assessment of the problem. He even found another problem I didn't know about - unfinished work from the porch addition two years ago. This current project took 3 days, working alone. He started each day mid-morning (after chores at ranch in Cairo, GA) and worked until dusk. Although I couldn't climb on the roof for a close-up look at his work, it looked good from the ground and I trusted him. Without charging extra, he used bleach to clean a different section of siding where some mold was growing. He assessed that area and assured me it didn't need any repair at this time. Gary was very pleasant and professional in a down-to-earth way. I hadn't gotten any other estimates so I don't know how reasonable his estimate was, but he admitted that he doesn't aim to be the highest or the lowest estimate. He aims to be somewhere in the middle and he thinks it's a fair estimate. Although I wasn't present most of the days he worked, my observation is that he was diligent in his work. There was more to the job than I imagined and I'm satisfied with the outcome.

The work was done beautifully. Gary is a master carpenter and it showed. Each of the two sets of exterior stairs posed separate challenges and Gary solved the problems with ease. I would recommend King Construction to anyone planning a construction project in this ares.

Gary King removed a twenty-five year old wooden deck. He reinforced the decking infrastructure, adding additional "feet" and cross beams. He then installed composite decking, including stairs and a dog ramp along with composite railings. He worked carefully and methodically throughout the project. He was more concerned about the quality of his work than he was about rushing through in order to work on his next project. The dog ramp took great skill on his part because the angle of the ramp was different from that of stairs, for which the railing system was manufactured. Nonetheless, he made it work. Once the project was completed he thoroughly cleaned up the work site. Gary is an A-1 professional.

Gary did a great job! Very nice and easy to talk to. Very flexible, we asked to add something during the job, which was to add an outdoor/porch electrical outlet. He completed it without any problems whatsoever. The porch looked great when finished. I would definitely ask Gary to do another job in the future. Extremely pleased with the results.

Mr. King was very personable, flexible, and professional. He was a good listener and showed us some work he recently completed. In the end we selected a different contractor, but we would consider using him in the future for other work.
