At first, he seemed legit, and I even contacted his references, who said that "he gets the job done". But, he was never on time, asked for half the money up front, then charged extra because he didn't get his estimate right and did poor quality work. He had two what appeared to be underage kids, one was his son, doing the work. He would stop by every now and then, yell at the kids, they would yell and cuss back in front of us. He asked about the other people in the neighborhood and told me if I referenced him to them, he would "hook me up" with extra plants, etc. So I did, and he actually got THREE other people on the blocks business. He said that he owed me big time and that he was a man of his word and would help me out. He also said he had a one year warrany on his work. One neighbor had a tree of his installed and it was diseased, he said would not replace it. Tried to call him multiple times and he didn't answer. When he did, he started YELLING at me saying he didn't owe me anything and that he WOULD KICK MY A** if he saw me! How about that for good business ethics! Now my neighbors have had bad business, he won't help them and I just saw somebody else using him. When I told the owner, he said he was having the same problems, not being on time, wanting money up front, not delivering like he promised. Needless to say, the sod he installed has all died and the grading he did never got rid of any of the weeds he said he would. Also, he planted trees and bushes too high so the roots are coming up on top of the lawn. He also goes by Davis Landscaping. If you see or hear Robert Davis and Landscaping, stay FAR away. There are also three bad reports on him at Yahoo Local Business Overview and has two unresolved/unsatisfactory ratings on him from the BBB. Found out that even other landscapers know of his bad reputation. BE WARNED!
