The owner of the business (Tania/Tonya/Titania/?) is a nightmare to deal with. BEWARE! No professionalism. No accountability. (Although Stan, the field tech, was great) I called Tonya because the fridge was still not working. She was defensive and angry from the first call, Refused to believe that the fridge was still not cool (claims that it takes a professional to know if the fridge is cool or freezer is freezing), she attacked everything ( didn't believe the parts were replaced, didnt' believe parts were installed, didn't believe they were installed correctly, didn't believe they were new, refused to believe parts were legit, refused to believe the diagnostic was inaccurate, etc). he refused to send tech back out even after I offered to pay again if I were wrong. She asked for info that she later deemed immaterial. Promised to call back after discussing with tech, and never did. After a week of delay tactics, many many repeated attempts, many many calls, she had her assistant relay a msg that the diagnostic fee will be refunded. It's ok if a diagnostic is wrong; it happens. If you take a diagnostic fee, stand behind it! This company does not. Do not deal with this company at all costs!

Call the number and the person will take your information. Then a scheduling service calls you back. These are clearly two different companies, so who knows what the real name of the service provider might be. The scheduler called me while I was waiting for the technician, and said that the tech had been injured on the job and wouldn't be able to make the appointment. They had no other techs available, but offered $15 off for the inconvenience, and re-scheduled for the next day. I waited at home for over three hours before calling to find out where this tech might be. He was still finishing up another job across town, and was going to miss the block entirely. So, after waiting 6 hours at home for these jokers, I told them not to bother coming. Totally unprofessional.
Description of Work: I called this company to get a refrigerator door fixed. The first time they cancelled the first appointment and missed the second appointment window, so I cancelled.

The guy quickly ran to his van and took off. I wanted so badly to call the police and report this as vandelism. I was so angry that this could have happened. I am in the business of taking care of your clients and I can't even believe that there are people out there that could do such a thing. I called the other hotel and got the repair person to come out and fix the until for $700 (including the repair of all the wires and damage to the condenser caused by the man with Georgia Refrigeration). Whell, all said and done, we made out ok. We didn't lose any food and we got it fixed. This has been sitting in my mind for a couple of weeks and I wanted to get it out so others don't have to deal with this foolishness! If you do not want to fall vicitim to this, don't call Georgia Refrigeration. They will rip you off. Seriously - from one customer from antoher - Stay Away!
Description of Work: I arrived at the hotel I manage and found that our walk in cooler was down at 6:30am. I called several places that I found had good references from Angie's List. The first one that called me back was Georgia Refrigeration at about 7am Sunday morning. They said they were sending a tech out, but did not/could not quote a time frame. I was ok with that. The tech arrived at the hotel at 12pm the same day. When he arrived, he looked around and checked the unit to find that the condensor motor and fan blade were both bad. He quoted me a price of $1200 to fix everything. I told him that was a little bit high and if he could just wait a minute I would get back with him for a confirmation from the owners. At that time the tech stateed that there was a service call fee of $99 regarless whether we used him or not. I let him know that the company should have said something when I called earlier that morning (since they claim to be 24 hours). I did not have a problem paying the $99 I just wanted to let them know that it should have been stated earlier. The tech seemed to get furious....He started ranting and raving about me not wanting to pay all around the lobby area of the hotel while I was trying to get approval for the quote he gave me. I couldn't believe it...I was working on getting an approval for $1200 and the guy was steamed becuase I let him know that I wasn't informed about the service charge! Who cares, if I have the work done by him then the service charge doesn't even apply....whell, when I did not get approval that's when it all went south. I told the man (who spoke with strong Russian accent) that I could not pay him the $1200, he asked why and I stated that we had another repair person from another hotel that could do it for around $700. I offered that since he was here I would meet him in the middle for $900 he could do it - it would be done and we wouldn't have to wait any longer. He did not want to deal whatsoever. In fact, he went into a frenzy!! From there he walked through the lobby, through the back of the house kitchen and through our electrical room and walked out to the condenser unit ouside, started kicking it (hard!) then I saw him through a set of windows actually pulling wires from the bottom of the condenser -- ripping them out!!!! I was like, "What the ......!!" I could not believe my eyes. I was prepared to pay the $99 service charge but he did not even give me a chance. I ran out of the hotel to where the man was and started yelling "Hey what the heck are you doing?!"

Our refridgerator thermostat stopped functioning and the unit would no longer cool. The repair took a few days due to part availability but the technician correctly identified and fixed the problem. I used this company because they were available right away but will not use them again. The technician was very unpleasant and made my wife feel uncomfortable with him in our house. In addition, a charge that was 2 to 3 times what was appropriate ensures we'll never use them again.

They were spectacular. I called them at 9 p.m. on a Tuesday night and I had a guy here at 10 in the night. He worked on the fridge for about an hour and half and left at midnight. They are extremely helpful and extremely helpful. I did not expect them to show up that quickly. He fixed the problem and he happened to have the spare part for that old refrigerator. He walked me through as to what had happened and how I could avoid it in the future. This guy was very nice. He showed me how to do the maintenance of the fridge to avoid this kind of overheating and the bursting of the coil. They were great. I thought they would be more expensive but they were not.

Thursday morning, the freezer was fine. Thursday evening, it was full of water. I called Georgia Refrigeration Friday morning, and they had a service technician out to my house within a few hours. The job was far more complicated than initially anticipated, and it took the technician most of the day to get the refrigerator working properly again. He had to go back to his office to get a compressor that fit my model of refrigerator. He timed that trip with vacuuming out moisture in the coil and with my need to go back to work for a few hours in the afternoon. Finally, around 6:30, the refrigerator was once again running properly. The price was pretty steep, but the company is dependable, and the price was far less than buying a new refrigerator.
Description of Work: The refrigerator stopped running. It turns out that it needed a new compressor. Moreover, there was moisture inside the coils, which required vaccuming out the coils (a multi-hour process) to ensure that there was no moisture left.

I had been frustrated with another company, Castleberry's, because of the difficulty in scheduling this non-urgent service. Castleberry's would agree only to an entire day, initially, and then call me in the morning to specify a 2-hour window. The chosen time, in the middle of my work day, would not work so I rejected it. I then called Georgia Refrigeration. They would have agreed to same-day service, in the evening if I wished, but I selected Saturday, instead. (Castleberry offered no Saturday service). Georgia Refrigeration agreed to a 2-hour window, called 30 minutes before arrival and the performed the work (ice maker replacement) punctually.
Description of Work: The technician was extremely knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me a couple of options, and then explained not only what he was doing -- replacing the ice maker and water valve -- and why but also various other useful things to know about my refrigerator. The job was somewhat pricey, but even if I could have found a cheaper supplier (and I don't know that I could have), there is extra value in getting the work done at a time convenient for me.

Phone call was taken promptly and I was offered a service window of noon-3. Right at noon, I got a confirmation call that the tech was on his way and would be here within 30 minutes. Only 15 minutes later, there he was. He quickly determined that the compressor was bad and showed me the cost in his book of part prices. Basically, his quote was just shy of $400, plus tax. I elected to pass and buy a new refrigerator instead (this one is 9 years old). He tried to change my mind, saying that the same problem (caused by accumulated dog hair) could recur even in a new machine. When I confirmed that $250 was my limit for repair, he offered to contact his manager for me and ask for that price, seeming fairly certain that he could get her to come down that low - or at least close to it. The potential for that large a price discount alarmed me a bit, so I still declined. He did seem very knowledgeable and gave me advice about what brands to avoid when shopping for a new unit, so maybe I should've done the repair. On the other hand, such a rapid offer to discount by such a huge percentage - accompanied by their insistence on cash or check for payment/no credit cards - made me nervous.
Description of Work: I woke this morning to find my side-by-side refrigerator warm. I contacted GA Refrigeration because I have no back-up unit and they were the only firm relatively high on the list that offered 24 hour/emergency service calls.

Our refrigerator stopped cooling on Veteran's Day afternoon, too late to do anything about it. On Tuesday, I called several repair shops from Angie's List, and Georgia Refrigeration was the first company who could provide a technician that same day. The technician arrived before 1 pm as promised, and was very fast and thorough with his assessment. He explained that the unit required a new compressor, along with several other repairs, and explained the fees thoroughly. He explained that he could apply the estimate costs toward the repair of the unit, but we decided to invest the $800-900 in a new unit instead (as our current one was over 15 years old). He gave us a lot of sound advice about buying a new unit (recommending reliable brands, explaining certain features), and we were able to find one within that budget that same night. Estimated cost was $55.

I explained the problem to the person who answered the phone at the company, and she said she could send someone out, but that I should realize the minimum fee was $100, no matter what was wrong or what the repairman needed to do. I agreed, and the repairman came out. He was very knowledgeable and likeable. He had to use his heavy duty wrench to turn the filter holder, but I figured it was worth the $100 in order to be able to use the ice and water again.
Description of Work: I was unable to install a water filter in our Maytag refrigerator because I couldn't turn the filter holder to the right in order to release the cap. I didn't want to force the part, out of fear of breaking it. After not using the ice or water for about a year, I gave in and decided to call a repair company, knowing that the part wasn't probably broken, but that I needed help in order to get it to work.

We called after 5 pm on a weekday and were told someone would be there by 9 pm (they are a 24 hour company with no extra charge for after hours). The woman answering the phone was professional, nice, and said they would call when the repair man was close. She later called back saying he d be there about 7:30; he arrived about 10 minutes later. The charge for the estimate quoted over the phone was $45 that would be applied to the repair. The repairman was friendly and offered advice. He found clogged cat hair that was causing the compressor to go bad. He then showed us where to clean to prevent future problems. He gave advice about our water line and filter for the refrigerator. Overall we were pleased with the experience; the repairman was friendly and helpful. BUT, after looking the part up online we found it cost $7 while we paid $320 for the part and labor. We feel ripped off. :(
