We have been a customer of JR Bolton Services, Inc. for approximately six years. They have provided maintenance for our HVAC systems at both our home and rental property. I believe we originally found JR Bolton through Angie’s List. We have been happy with their services and pleased that they have been interested in the overall environment in our homes . Recently our upstairs air-conditioning unit failed. Our HVAC system was ready to be replaced and so we met with Stephen Hobbs. Stephen discussed our options and recommended that he perform a “Heat Loss and Heat Gain Load Calculation” to determine the recommended Equipment Capacity and current Room Air Flow. We decided to replace the upstairs and main floor HVAC systems and add insulation and air sealing to the attic and the home basement Rim Band. We are very pleased with the professionalism of the work and the final results. We can really tell that the drafts in the house don’t appear to exist anymore. The temperature now remains constant in the house for very long extended periods of time. This was just not the case before. Our old systems seemed to run almost all the time. Now our new systems rarely come on and they are so quiet!! Stephen Hobbs did an outstanding job of sealing the attic. He added 1” Dow Thermax board insulation to the knee walls or external walls for the rooms upstairs and sealed the edges with foam. He also sealed the Can Lights with a dome or cover and sealed them with foam. Stephen went well beyond expectations and we can “feel” the difference. Stephen provided the results of his Air Flow testing before and after the air sealing and insulation process. The results showed a 25% decrease in the air flow. We really appreciate the science behind the JR Bolten service. The Trane Heating and Air Conditioning systems are outstanding with a 10 year warranty. The new thermostats easily connected to the internet so I can manage the environment from my smart cell phone. We highly recommend JR Bolton Services and especially Stephen Hobbs for the expertise and work performed.

I was having a problem with my Lynx Grill and needed a service call. I contacted several companies and settled on using JR Bolton Services because they could provide the earliest service call. I was very specific the service call was to repair my Lynx Grill searing unit that would not ignite and to replace a wire screen over the searing unit that I had in my possession. I was quoted $85 for the service call and the appointment was set for 2 days later, Wednesday January 13th. After the service visit my wife was presented with a bill charging $150 for the service call. Knowing I was quoted $85 she tried to reach me on the phone to discuss but I was not available, so she paid the bill. When we reached out to the company for a refund they offered to discount parts needed to complete the repair of $30. So they overcharged me $65 but offered a $30 credit. This was insulting so I requested a refund of the $65 and was told the company doesn't normally do that followed by reiteration of there being a $150 service call fee for grill repairs. I requested this matter be taken to the owner of the company and I suggested a review of this "Bait and Switch" would soon be posted online. The representative then threatened me by intimating she too could post a negative review on me and that what goes around comes around. I have never been threatened in such a manner and decided the incident should be posted regardless of whether the owner provides a refund. I don't know what the justification would be for a higher service call fee for repair of one appliance vs. another, but the fee I was quoted should be honored without hesitation. I would never recommend this company.

Incorrect diagnosis of a problem with my fireplace. Deceiving online advertising. Had to pay $80 trip charge for a 10minute evaluation. Had the problem fixed for less than $200 by a different company. JR Bolton quoted $800 plus additional cost for drywall & painting repair. Front office not helpful.

All went well, employees doing a great job. However, I had inquired for a couple of repairs and a new project but pricing is way too high. Although their quality of work is great, the extra premium is too steep for my taste.

JR Bolton replaced my old HVAC system back in March 2011 with a TRANE XL20i and ever since I've had problems with it. When the unit was installed, they didn't hooked up the 220 power to it. Service call later and that was corrected. During the first year they had to come out three times to get the system working. Needless to say, every year the unit has stop working and I have to place another service call. last year (2014) it got so bad, I started calling them once month to have them come and check the pressure on the unit. Each time it was low on freon. After about 4 months of this, they figured out that there was a leak in the coils and replaced it. As I typing this, I'm waiting on someone for JR Bolton to repair my unit again. Last night we noticed the thermostat had no power to it. I checked the circuit breaker and that's not the problem. My biggest complaint with JR Bolton is the owner Jeff Bolton has never followed up with me knowing that I've had so many problems with either the workmanship, faulty parts or lack of properly troubleshooting the problem . The other main concern I have is replacement parts. It seems parts are not always available so that adds to the wait time being without a working AC unit. Bottom-line this hasn't been a good experience and I'd sure like to go one entire year without placing a service call.

They're more expensive than other people, but they know what they're doing. They're top notch. They're wonderful. They're the best.They deal quickly with issues. Their people are very good about, you know, you know who's coming over and all this other stuff. I feel like before we ran into them we threw away some much money with other companies before then. We just really like them. They came in to do the whole house assessment. The people who we had hired ten years earlier had left a two and a half to three feet wide hole in our attic. We live in a three level house and they separated the upstairs from the two bottom floors. All those 10 years, we were air conditioning and heating our attic because we were pulling stuff from our upper attic. We didn't even know it. But J R Bolton Services Inc. sealed our house up so nicely. They're top notch. They don't quit a problem until they get it resolved. They're great. They may not be the best price in town, but you know it will be done right. They're worth it, to me. We really like them. We enjoy any of the workers they send out. We've had some weird things happen, like rats getting into the air conditioner. You know it, it's happened and these guys are just great at fixing them. We've been using them for a long time and have loved everything they've done.

The experience is fantastic with the quality of the work. The actual maintenance person that was here was nice and knows his craftsmanship very well.

We were extremely pleased by the work performed by JR Bolton's to service our gas logs. Dario, the service representative, was very patient and thorough as he explained to us why we previously encountered problems with some of the fireplace components and what we should do to address the typical problems in the future. He was extremely conscientious to make certain that the area around the fireplace was not soiled as he performed the service. I don't want my other comments to overshadow the fact that Dario did an excellent job on the fireplace. It looks and functions fantastically after his service. I was able to get an appointment to service our fireplace on the same day that I called - even though significant cold weather was approaching. The representative even worked around our schedule to make the service call at a time when we could be at home. We highly recommend JR Bolton for fireplace service. We will certainly use their services in the future.

He was excellent. He gave me some advice on using it correctly, which was wonderful. During that time, we didn’t have any problem. He was very knowledgeable. He told me some things that I could do to help the airflow. I wanted to make sure that I did not have an issue with the gas line and them coming in the house. I highly recommend them. They were great. I was trying to figure out if that was the going rate for service calls. I think they were a little bit on the high side. Of course, with Angie’s List coupon I was great. I’m not going to complain.

They were quick to work with my schedule and need to get serviced. They asked one of their service men to service my logs on his way home. Wow! I even got to use a discount coupon. He was professional, informative, prompt, courteous, my fireplace and logs looked new.

The technician, Scott, cleaned the inside of the fireplace (vent free). He inspected the unit to be sure everything was working properly. He explained to me how to keep the fireplace maintained and how to operate it properly. He was very thorough and knowledgeable.

They were very nice, very thorough. They took off the cover and front and checked all the gas plumbing. They did a great job cleaning it. Inspected the parts and pilot and gas lines and how it was functioning. They did inspect for carbon monoxide. Because it is 14 years old fireplace, it was emitting carbon monoxide. Because we don't use the fireplace, we decided to not replace the fireplace. I am very glad that had the inspection on the fireplace done.

They diagnosed the problem correctly, we did have to wait a little bit on some parts, but they did a great job.

Scott was on time and make all the changes lickety-split. There was NO mess, and he did a beautiful job installing the mantle and slate hearth. JR Bolton isn't the cheapest supplier, but they are EXCELLENT.

Instillation went well. But I was gone when installed so had them back for instruction and tweaks.

They did an excellent job. Our experience with them has been extremely well. We have had great service with them. What stands out to me about them is their customer service and their promptness and I have been happy with all of that. Their people are very professional and knowledgeable. I have been completely happy with their service.

They were recommended by another Angie's List service provider because they do more of this kind of work and would be more competitive on price. This turned out to be true. They did a very good job at close to the estimated price which was much lower than I had been quoted by other companies.

Technician fixed in a couple of minutes. Offered to clean and restack gas logs "since we had paid for him to come out". Now gas fire looks much more realistic.

It was great. He was very thorough and polite. He showed me how to use the fireplace and then had me show him I could do it. I appreciated his caring attitude.

We were promised a service person who would call between 12-4 today. At 4:10 I called and was finally told that the technician could not come today. I took off from work to be present for this person. I would rate this company as extraordinarily unprofessional. I would not use them again and, in fact, would not re-schedule with them. If they treated me in this manner once, they will do it again. Total disregard for my time and my business. Don't use this company.

We had a new hot water heater installed-went out to dinner -- came home to the carbon monoxide alarms screaming-- fire dept came-very-high levels of carbon monoxide-- they turned off the gas to the hot water heater and stayed until levels were normal--next morning Bolton came out and fixed the problem-- the new hot water heater was not vented properly--took many hours to fix-We never had a call from the company to apologize -- I would not be writing this if we did not have carbon monoxide detectors. -- --the rating section has me stumped-- the second employee fixed the the problem-- both he and the first guy were professional-- we have used Bolton in the past with no problems-- BUT-- I can't recommend them

I have been a JR Bolton customer for many years, and I'm always impressed by their professional and exceptional service. More than ever, their outstanding service was clearly in view when the AC system that was originally installed in my home (by the builder) stopped working on a very hot day. I immediately called JR Bolton for service, and a technician was at my front door within 90 min. He did a thorough inspection and then provided options that were in my best interest, both now and for the future. After a comprehensive inspection of my home, combined with a discussion regarding the personal needs of my family, I made the decision to have JR Bolton install the Lennox Heating & Air System. I am so impressed with the new system, and the attention to detail that the technicians brought to the job everyday. I cannot express enough good comments about the outstanding work JR Bolton provides, and I will continue to be a loyal customer, and enthusiastically recommend their products and services.

Jeff Bolton spent considerable time with me and my wife, in advance of us agreeing to have him do our work for us, to make us feel comfortable, to answer our questions, to explain the process, to review the pricing, and to do all the fundamental things you need to do before you make an informed decision about hiring a contractor. So, we ultimately decided to use him. Once we did decide to use him the work was done on schedule as described in advance. The quality of work was excellent. The workmanship was excellent. The communication during the process was very good. Follow-ups were good. Everything about the job was done well and the price ended up being as described. There were no changes in price. I highly recommend J. R. Bolton Services, Inc. I doubt that their pricing will be the cheapest, but I can assure you that the professionalism and quality of their work will be superior to that of their competition.
