I have always been a fan of Home Depot, but tonight takes the cake. I bought a lawn mower at the end of the season last year - a Toro. It is one of those "guaranteed to start" mowers. I used it once last fall and then maybe once during the winter and then maybe 3 or 4 times this season. Last week it wouldn't start. I tried again this weekend...no start. Desperate to get the grass, soon to be jungle, cut, I tried again tonight...no luck. I called Home Depot. They said "You'll need to bring it in." I explained, for several reasons, why I couldn't bring it in. Next thing I know, Zach Tithof is pulling in my driveway. He puts on his HD apron and got my lawn mower going right there. It didn't take much, but he knew exactly what it was (ethanol gas) and told me how to prevent it in the future. He went on his way, and I cut the grass. WOW...all I can say is WOW. I never expected such great service from such a large company, but they surprised me and made my week. Thanks, Zach!!! I'm an even BIGGER Home Depot FAN now.

We went with Home Depot with serious reservations. We were lured by the free tear out and a $2500 rebate that competitors were unable to match. Closest quote to compete with Home Depot for similar product was $6k higher. We seriously weighed whether it was worth paying $6k more to have a devoted person handling our whole kitchen remodel and opted to save the money. Had I not had a home office and the ability to stay on top of the whole project I seriously doubt our kitchen would be complete as I write this. Home Depot is great at volume discounts but when it comes to being a general contractor and keeping a project on schedule they fail miserably. When I would call to discuss the project I would be put on hold for 15 minutes, disconnected and then call again and leave a message only to find out the person I was trying to reach wasnt even in that day. HD inability to provide email to their employees who are handling 20k remodels is ridiculous. Our kitchen delays were the result of the wrong product being ordered and then having to reorder, not enough product being ordered and damages on arrival. The damages however were not the fault of HD however the delay in redelivering the replacement material was clearly the fault of HD. When new product was delivered it was sent to the store and not the end user (us) and it took days of calling HD to see when they would redeliver the item so the installer could finish. The installation team (Frame to Finish) were outstanding. Roseanne, Steve and John were top notch and did a fantastic job staying in touch with us and handling the installation. I would highly recommend them and have submitted a separate report on them. I dont want to scare anyone away from using HD for their kitchen remodel. Our kitchen came out beautifully and we got an outstanding product at a great price. I just want to prepare anyone who chooses to use them to understand that they will have to stay on top of their project and make numerous phone calls to see that things happen. If you dont mind doing all of that yourself they are a good option for your remodel.

Additional upgrades included soft close drawers and all plywood construction. There was also a bathroom vanity purchase of Cherry with Whiskey glaze and its installation included in the price.
