Both projects went very well. The thing that impressed us the most is their punctuality and professionalism. We were living in the house at the time and they made the effort to clean the mess at the end of every workday when it would have been easier to leave it since they were coming back the next morning. There were added cost like the decorator and other subcontractors, but they were explained us before we signed our contracts and we knew what to expect at all times. They were very good at meeting their deadlines, and we finished the project ahead of schedule. Glen also worked directly with State Farm so there was very little for us to do once we signed our contracts. All in all, it was a very nice experience. Not only did our house get repaired, but we got a beautiful kitchen remodel out of it. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is remarkable. Granted it may have been cheaper to go with some Other contractors, but you get what you pay for. And I really think we got the best. It was very reasonable for the quality and experience
Description of Work: We've used Glenn Huff a couple times . our biggest repair was when a tree fell across our house and basically crushed it. They replaced The entire roof, remodeled and repaired the inside walls and floor, and remodeled and rebuild the kitchen with new cabinets granite and appliances. About a year later we hired them to remodel and finish out a basement. They did everything including AC work, electrical, and finishing

I have been informed by Angie's List that I am not allowed to re-direct any type of traffic toward a different website. If whomever reads this knows how to check public records, this particular builder is involved in a substantial amount of lawsuits. He is also having his wages garnished. He took my wife's and my earnest money during a transaction to have a house built, even though we were declined financing under the terms of the contract. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT USE THIS MAN FOR ANY SORT OF HOMEBUILDING, REMODEL, ETC.

Glen Huff never showed up during the project to insure things were going well. Instead put his Nieghbors kid in charge, who was a nice guy, but ZERO experience. Our house was damaged, due to his poor plumbing. Had to file an insurance claim because Glen Huff refused to fix the damage. DISHONEST person. Stay away.
Description of Work: The plumbing leaks. The electrical shorts. Absolute worst company I have ever delt with.

Response from Glen Huff Homes & Remodeling
This customer hired us to remodel his bath room which we completed on schedule and for the pre-agreed price. The project manager responsible for his project is a full-time employee of our company, fully qualified and manages multiple complex projects under the supervision of the owner, Glen Huff. We are not sure who's neighbors child was visiting his home. There was a single plumbing service requested after we completed the project that we solved thoroughly and promptly. Also, he insisted that we remedy another issue that was not covered by his warranty, and we respectfully referred him to his written warranty. Then he filed a claim with his insurance company and listed us as a third party liable for the claim. The insurance company contacted us and requested we reimburse them for that claim. We sent them a copy of his signed construction agreement and warranty, and they withdrew their request for reimbursement. We are disappointed this customer would characterize his experience this way. However, we remain committed to honoring all our obligations, documenting and abiding by all the terms and conditions agreed upon by each party.

Once we hired him for this, some red flags started to appear. When we went to pick out our finishes with the interior designer, we got the impression that they don't work together often. I thought this was strange since he builds homes and does remodeling. So we wondered how long it had been since he'd done any renovations. We had two appointments to pick out our finishes, and during this time there was no longer any mention of a draftsman. Glen did some measurements and gave us a sketch of the layout for the bathroom. I finally pushed the subject of the draftsman, and he claimed that the draftsman worked at Atlanta Flooring Design Centers (where we worked with the interior designer and picked out our finishes), and that he was billed for both the services of the draftsman to produce cabinet renderings and for the services of the interior designer. I called and spoke with employees at Atlanta Flooring, who told me that these services were performed free of charge to customers. When I told Glen about this, he said they were "mistaken." But he also refused to show me any sort of billing or payments from/to Atlanta Flooring for these services, saying that he doesn't do business that way, and that he doesn't have to show that type of subcontractor information to clients. So basically all we know is that he hasn't paid anyone for anything, even though he told us that was what the $2,500 fee was going towards. When I asked for my money back otherwise I was going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and file a suit in small claims court, he asked that I give him 24 hours to consider some sort of refund. I agreed. He emailed me the following day and offered $250, saying that the work was 90% complete even though the bid package is incomplete, we have no project renderings, and in NO WAY could we take this to another contractor to use to generate a quote (for instance, we don't even know how much tile our bathroom requires, etc). We also found out after checking on the gwinnettcourts.com site that he is currently involved in three pending lawsuits with vendors/distributors against his home building business, which makes us trust him even less. After I told him we were not accepting his $250 refund offer because it was unacceptable, I haven't received another response.
Description of Work: We hired him for Design Consulting Services to produce a bid package and project renderings for a master bathroom and kitchen remodel. The fee was to go towards his time, and to cover the fees of a draftsman to produce project renderings, and to an interior designer with whom we'd pick out our finishes. The bid package and renderings were described to us as something above and beyond what a normal contractor provides, and that since we'd own the materials at the end of this agreement, we'd be able to take it to any contractor who could use it to generate a quote of their own for us, because the contractor would have everything he needed to perform the job.

Response from Glen Huff Homes & Remodeling
As a small business owner, I am very attentive to the needs and concerns of my customers. The comments posted by this customer, however, are simply a misrepresentation of the transaction and services rendered, and deserve the following response: As part of a remodeling job, there are various and extensive steps and procedures to accurately and fairly estimate the cost(s) of the project. These include rendering drawings, sourcing materials, negotiating best price from suppliers, consulting with other professionals (sub-contractors), and receiving substantial input, comments, and changes, from our customer. These processes can take weeks or months to accomplish, depending on the size and scope of a job. In an effort to be fair and equitable, we enter in to a written agreement (Design Services Agreement) with the customer, essentially requiring a small deposit to compensate us for the formal efforts put in to preparing a bid/project package (in the event the homeowner selects another contractor). When complete, this package can be delivered to any contractor as a guide and instruction to complete the project. In the event that the homeowner agrees to our bid, we immediately subtract the initial design services fee from the total. If they do not use us for the project, we retain the fee and provide them with the entire package (so they may present to other contractor for completion). The agreement plainly indicates these terms as indicated as such: "Should homeowner select another general contractor to perform the project the deposit will become nonrefundable as compensation for GHR's time and expertise in producing materials referenced above (renderings, materials list, materials supplier, etc.)." In this instance, the customer was presented the bid package, and ultimately decided not to utilize GHR to complete the project. Pursuant to the terms, we retained the initial fee, and provided the customer with the entire bid package. Moreover, the customer presented complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and Commercial Contractors. They were both provided with the signed agreement as well as the documents, the bid package, we delivered to the customer. Both independent bodies agreed that we had provided exactly what we said we would provide in the signed agreement, and both cases were resolved in our favor. The customer's failure to reference the written and signed agreement, referencing terms that are not a part thereof (draftsmen, interior designer, etc.), as well as introduce hearsay that is contrary to the written agreement signed by both parties completely misrepresents the circumstances. We are saddened by the dissatisfaction of this customer, however we remain committed to documenting and abiding by all terms and conditions agreed upon by and between the parties, and wish them nothing but the best.

My wife and I used our real estate agent to contact Glen Huff. We wanted a house built in his Millside Manor neighborhood in Dacula, Ga. We entered into a contract with Mr. Huff, or Glen Huff Homes, LLC, on or about 7/30/2012. We presented him with $3,500 in earnest money, which was clearly labeled "earnest money" in the contract. This money was contingent upon financing for 21 days. On or about 8/11/2012, we had found out about our being declined financing. We provided Mr. Huff with the proper documentation, but he has refused to return our money. We have retained an attorney and are now suing Glen Huff for the $3,500 that he owes us per the terms of the contract he signed. He has gone as far as to accuse my wife and I of mortgage fraud, which in my opinion, means he took our money and spent it. HE IS LITERALLY OUT $0.00, BECAUSE HE NEVER BROKE GROUND ON THIS HOUSE. Do Not ever do business with this builder, whether it be a home, remodel, or skinny-jeans purchase on ebay. He is obviously broke and a complete crook. One thing I can't stand is when someone plays the "God Card" during a business transaction, then tries to swindle you out of your money. Whoever reads this, please be aware that everything I am stating was written in a contract that Mr. Huff signed and is refusing to honor. He is obviously close to either personal or business bankruptcy, or would not be fighting me this hard over $3,500. PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN FOR ANYTHING. UPDATED SEPTEMBER 28, 2012: This is an update concerning mine and my wife's lawsuit against Glen Huff Homes, LLC. He was served as of 9/17/2012. From the looks of another review, this crook owes everybody and his brother money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM.

The project was delayed by rain for a day. The actual job took five days with the week-end idle so the cement would cure fully. The owner communicated well so that any question was quickly answered.
Description of Work: Glen Huff Remodeling replaced water damaged subflooring in the laundry closet. They also lifted an interior joist a 1/4" to install a stablizing pressure treated 6x6 on a concrete pad to correct a sag at a corner of the entrance between the living room and dining room. They replaced a wooden shim with a metal shim on the nearby pier. Five other stablizing 6x6s were added to the crawl space of a 1985 home.
