We came home one Thursday evening and found our house hotter than normal. It was blowing warm air and the outside unit was not working. Fearing the worst case scenario, I called Corbitt the next morning and spoke with Linda with the answering service. She was very kind and helpful, but told me that they were booked solid for that day and would not be able to come till the next day, which was Saturday. She called back a couple of hours later and said that one of the technicians would be there in a few hours and would call before they came. Heath called us later and was there when he said he would be. Within 10 minutes, Heath had diagnosed and fixed the problem, which made for a very cool, comfortable Friday evening and weekend. This is not the first time Scott, Heath and the crew have been available for our needs. Wouldn't call anyone else.

Replaced the first system summer of 2017. Scott came out the within a few hours from calling. After looking at the problem it was obvious the system was beyond repair. He provided a quote which was below what I had received from competitors. Within a day or so his crew showed up and replaced the unit. I had previously consulted Consumer Reports on Heat and Air. Bryant was one of the higher rated units. Nine months later the other unit was making a loud noise. I had one of Scott's crew come check it out. The compressor was on the way out. I had this unit replaced with another Bryant. Both transactions where done with efficiency and professionalism. Hopefully, I'm done for a few years with Heating and Air but would not hesitate to call Corbitt Heating and Air if the need arises.

Corbitt thankfully answered their phone an hour after closing when I called from a motel because my unit died. They quoted me a reasonable price and installed it the next morning. They were finished by 11 a. m. The work was so clean, I couldn't even tell they had been there except that I had a brand new unit and updated thermostat. I was so pleased with the results.

The job was performed in a timely and professional manner. Scott Corbitt arrived at my home promptly and after evaluating my old system gave me several options to consider for repair or replacement and answered my questions with clear, precise, and intelligent answers. After doing due research about the various options given to me by other vendors, I decided to use Corbitt heating and air for the replacenent of my air handler and undersized outdoor inefficient compressor. Pricing was good and workmanship was excellent. I would recommend them to my friends.

My wife and I recently bought a 113yr old Victorian home in the historic district of Brunswick. We knew that the home needed to be restored and that it had never had a whole-home heating and cooling system (had some space heaters and window air conditioners). So, having HAVC installed was one of our first priorities. After receiving several quotes with unrealistic solutions and unbelievably high prices, I was fortunate enough to find Corbitt Heating and Air. From the first time Scott Corbitt came over to look at the project in order to build a quote, he was extremely professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Scott got back with me a few days later with a proposal, but we found it to be outside the budget we set for the project. Scott was very patient as he worked with us to develop a heating and cooling solution that would be most effective in a 113 yr old home with original windows and no insulation, while being mindful of our budget and not trying to over-sell a system. After a couple of phone calls, we were able to hit on the perfect combination of efficiency and price. When the day came to begin the week-long installation, Scott and his boys showed up on time and were very courteous to my wife (she was there overseeing HVAC installation, new roof installation, and exterior painting). While my wife would call with reports of issues with the painting and roof installation, she consistently would call to report how thankful she was that Corbitt Heating and Air was doing the HVAC work (Scott and his crew were there to back my wife when she had issues with the roofing installation manager). We've learned to expect obstacles when doing anything on a 113yr old home, and this project was no exception. Scott's crew worked extremely hard getting the duct work in on the first floor. They had the added challenge of cutting through TWO layers of hardwood floor (the original 1900 planks and oak hardwoods that were probably installed 60 or 70 years ago). Still, they never quit and did things right the first time! For the first time since we bought the house, occupying the first floor didn't feel like and quot;campingand quot; anymore...but living! Installing the mini-splits in the second floor bedrooms presented several challenges too! Still, Scott and his boys never gave up; they continued to develop creative solutions to resolve the issues this old house put in front of them. Scott literally went out of his way by driving to Jacksonville to get a part that the supplier did not ship with the rest of the mini-split system. Scott and his crew took the most difficult project we've contracted and made it the most successful and pleasant experience we've had thus far! This company is founded on 30 years of knowledge and a high moral standard! Scott went way above and beyond our expectations to provide us with a comfortable home. Corbitt Heating and Air will be our HVAC company for life!!! If you need ANY type of HVAC installation or repair done, call Scott and Tina Corbitt first!!!!

As a follow up, it is unfortunate that CHA makes NO attempt back up its (incorrect) claim that my review and quot;...had 'many' facts incorrect...and quot;. After review of all receipts, and review of both my written correspondence and my notes of my telephone conversations with both CHA and GA. Dept. of Revenue, I can and will honestly restate that my information in the above review is 100% correct. In other words, the reason no back up was offered is because there are no facts that are incorrect. It is interesting that a vendor that was still trying to get the correct sales tax amount right after over 30 years of service, is proud of its longevity. Note that in its response CHA made no mention of sales tax charges, the entire basis for my complaint. It is also noteworthy that after two years being on Angie's List and having no reviews, two overwhelmingly satisfied customers spontaneously and suddenly (and coincidentally) clamoring forth to proclaim accolades for CHA,--within WEEKS following my review (one of the reviews was pre-dated). I am happy for them to hear that they were so amazingly impressed with the and quot;perfectionand quot; and and quot;professionalismand quot; during these technically significant $105 and $320 service calls, respectively. (Coincidentally) As of this update, CHA still has not offered to refund any of the sales tax overcharges to me or any other customers--yet it has plenty of time to write reviews about how his customers and quot;have their facts wrongand quot;--without proof.
Description of Work: Corbitt Heating & Air (CHA) performed a compressor replacement at my home. I was out of the state at the time of the service. Following my perusal of the invoice that was paid in full at the time of service by my wife, I noticed discrepancies in the calculation of the sales tax. Upon advice of my accountant, I contacted CHA to obtain an itemized version of the invoice, The itemized invoice raised an additional question regarding the sales tax amount. Simply put, CHA was (and had been over the entire year) charging its customers 7% sales tax even though the legal sales tax rate for Glynn County is 6%. In addition, on the itemized invoice, CHA charged Georgia sales tax on labor as well as on parts, which is contrary to Georgia Tax Revenue Law. I attempted to call CHA several times to question the amount of, and the application of the sales tax several times, and left messages. None were returned. After the 4th call, I fianally was able to speak to the owner, Mr. Scott Corbitt to obtain his explanation as to why he was charging the wrong rate (7%), on the wrong items (both parts and labor). He seemed irritated with the call from the beginning of the conversation, and stated that 7% is the correct amount and that is the amount he charges all of his customers. Unfortunately, he terminated the conversation following a personal verbal insult before I was able to explain to him that his methodology and information were both incorrect. Because Mr. Scott Corbitt clearly demonstrated that he harbors no more respect for his paying customers than he has for the State of Georgia Revenue Laws that he is obligated to follow, I had to file a complaint with the Georgia Dept. of Revenue. Mr.Corbitt never offered to reimburse me for the excessive tax collection ($84), or any other customers to my knowledge, following the complaint. In summary, if you need HVAC services and want (1) To deal with a company with "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG" approach, and, (2) Want to pay extra sales taxes (to CHA, not to the State of Georgia), and, (3) Like being insulted: then by all means, go see Scott Corbitt of Corbitt Heating & AIr, LLC.!!!

Response from Corbitt Heating And Air LLC
In 30 years in business, we have discovered that some customers can't be satisfied. He has stated we did replace a compressor for him. We went out at 8 o'clock at night by the request of his wife and took care of her problem. We are a well established company with great respects for our customers and (member name removed) has his facts wrong in many ways as he was the rude person in this matter. Nevertheless we were unable to satisfy him, but his wife was very satisfied and cool while he was out of town.

all in all i was well pleased. On time, on target and handled very professionally within the time and price promised.
Description of Work: one of my air conditioning units went out, over the weekend, in the 100 degree heat we are having. it cause the 2nd main unit to tcarry the load for the whole house, and it could not. the temp remained at 88 degrees in the house. today, based upon a reference check from a friend and Angie's List, i contacted Corbitt Heating and Air. i was given an arrival window of 1:30 to 3pm. Scott Corbitt arrived at 2:30, quickly appraised the situation, determined that one unit had a bad capacitor, replaced it, checked the freon in both units, and started them back up. he then checked the temperature in various areas, of the house including the intake (return) air and the output air to make sure everything was working as expected. he then gave me some tips on insulation issues that will correct some of the hot spots in the house.

Perfect. They were very professional and very detailed with what was going on.
Description of Work: Mr. Corbitt and his co-worker removed my air conditioner from inside and showed me the problems. We bought this house less than a year and half ago, and we were told by Scott, that this had been a problem that dated back years. This being my husbands and my first house, that was very disheartning. Anyway, they cleaned it out and the problem was solved, no more leaks :) They actually took time away from their dinner with their families to help us, we are forever grateful.
