BLALOCK HEATING & AIR

Last year in July I used this company to remove my old ac system and install a new ac/heatpump system and install all new ductwork. Total cost $11,000. After the unit was installed, I kept hearing strange huffing noises from the vents. They came out multiple times to investigate with no resolution. In the meantime the noise kept getting worse and worse. Then my husband and I decided to go into the crawlspace to perform our own investigation and there was water all over the crawlspace and all of the brand new ductwork, it was dripping wet with condensation. I called them back out for an 8th service call. This time they acknowledged the problem. They stated the unit wasn't properly leveled during installation which caused condensation to back up into the unit. They did re-level the unit and they reinstalled new ductwork. Now the huffing noise was still present but significantly better. Fastforward to winter. Temperatures have now dropped into the 60's and I turn on the heat but the unit was not heating. So I call them back out for a 9th service call and I was told the unit wasn't charged properly and it triggered a fault so the unit shut off. The tech recharged the unit and the heat was back on. Now its been one year since the unit was installed and the huffing noise coming from the vents has been progressively getting worse. Today in this beautiful 90 degree weather the outside ac unit freezes up and will not cool. Now they only offer free service calls for 6 months. At this point I've had them out 9 times over the last year for a brand new ac and ductwork install that I paid $11,000 for and Im currently running window ac units (Pathetic). So no I would NOT recommend them. Save yourself the trouble and utilize a different company.

Very happy with the service I received from Blalock H&A. I contacted 3 companies for quotes on this project. Of the 3 companies I dealt with, I felt like Blalock was the most genuinely concerned with my needs and my budget. Justin, the company representative that I worked with, was very responsive, and more than patient with the myriad of questions I had. He told me more than once that he was more interested in my being comfortable with my decision on the type of system to install than he was in getting my business. The installation was completed in a timely manner, and the crew was very courteous and professional. Would hire again, and would recommend them to others.

We trust them for any HVAC needs we have. We have used them for years. I have never had a negative experience. They are a small business, but an excellent business.

Took a few days to get the part in but the responded the day I called them and scheduled the installation once the part came in. Technician was on time and completed the work without issue. This was the second opinion on why my unit wasn't working, the gentlemen from Blalock diagnosed a totally different issue and saved me thousands along with properly identifying the correct issue. Very pleased and have found my HVAC company should any other issues arise.

We had a new basement unit installed and the service was awesome! We dealt with Justin and he really worked with us as we were remodeling our basement. He sold us a great unit at a fantastic price. We will use Blalock for all of our HVAC needs for sure!

Terrible initially but this was due to a extremely corrupt general contractor who utilized Blalock Heating and Air and was trying to cheat us and save money by undersizing the heat pump units (among other ways he deceived us). House would neither heat nor cool well at all, Had to use space heaters for the winter time. When I finally brought this to attention of Shane Balock the owner, he came out quickly, assessed the situation and installed at his own expense, a larger heat pump. Now we have have decent heating and air. I had a very corrupt general contractor that hired Blalock, but Blalock heating and air themselves are excellent and want their customers satisfied. Made things right for us at their expense with a smile. I recommend them.

After a minor scheduling difficulty which they apologized for, they arrived on time, were clean, respectful, professional and listened closely. They did the work quickly, showed me what they had done and were on their way. Price was very competitive and both systems are working like new after 2 months of use. Strongly recommend them.

This is a rental house that I own. I have used Blalock's in the past to both service this unit, inspect the unit on our former residence, and give a clean bill of health on the unit in our existing residence prior to purchase. My renter called and said that the AC was not blowing cold, and the outside unit was frozen up a couple of days ago. I called Blalock's, and while I usually use Adam, he's so popular that he wasn't available, so Ryan was out the next day to have a look (I called them in the late afternoon). Ryan started checking it out, and found the system was basically empty of refridgerant, so he charged it back to spec. He then was able to locate 2 leaks in the system: 1 was a bad schrader valve on the unit outside, and yet another was in the copper lines on the condensing unit outside. The lines had rubbed together to cause the leak. Ryan planned to return the next day to complete the repair, but due to the age of the system, I asked for a quote on a full replacement system. If you include the cost of the repair they had done so far, the quote on the new full system was competitive, and in line with most of the other quotes i got from at least 3 other installers. There was 1 or 2 that came in about $500 cheaper for the new system, but given the long relationship I've had with Blalock's, I didn't see it as being enough to take a chance on a new, untested installer. In the end, I chose to simply repair the existing system, as Ryan had planned to do originally. This isn't the first time Blalock's has steered me to not go with the highest cost option, and to me, this says a lot about their company. I plan to continue to use them as my HVAC service pros.

The work went very well. I had to make one call back about the heatpump a few days after because there was a small problem, but they came out and made a minor adjustment to the wiring and it has been working good ever since. Shane came out to do the work himself and was very prompt, personable, and he and his worker did good work. I got another bid before and they were very competitive in their pricing.
