Turner's Contracting Solutions

Mr Turner came out to talk. He was to provide a quote for the work we had agreed to. He then charged me $35.00 for coming to give an estimate. I did know this up front. This should have been the first red flag. I paid the $35.00 and never received the quote. He said up front that he is around $35.00/sq/ft on a deck. this could have been a $10k contract. I heard back from him once. I asked for pictures of work he has done with different handrails. to this day he had not called me back. I emailed and asked for the $35.00 back. no reply. I had to start over looking for someone to do the work. They are almost done.

I called Turner's Contracting to see about getting an estimate for some repairs to my drywall and some concrete work done and within a couple of days Mr. Turner had come out to my house to see what I had in mind. I showed him the areas where the work needed to be done and what I was expecting and he gave me his feedback and ideas concerning the repairs and concrete work. He took some pictures and drew out what I had described to make sure we were both on the same sheet of music and by the end of the week he had contacted me with the official estimate. The estimate was lower than I was expecting so I agreed and by the next week Mr. Turner had his drywall/painters out to do the repairs and repainting of my drywall. Both men were very professional and polite and called each day before they showed up to give me a heads up of when they would be there. They did a great job of blending in the paint work so that the patches are not visible. By the end of the week Mr. Turner had the concrete guys out to do the ramp for my shed and the extension to my driveway. There were about half a dozen men on the team and they showed up in the morning and immediately began working. They had excavated out the dirt where the slab was going to go and used the removed dirt to level out some of the low spots and ruts in my driveway. The concrete crew worked throughout the day with only one break for lunch and when they were done they had made sure to remove all of their forms and had cleaned up after themselves. All of Mr. Turners guys were always professional and were there when they said they would be. I'm completely satisfied with all of the work done as well as how quickly it was done. I would both use and recommend Turner's Contracting Solutions in the future.

It didn't go anywhere. Thank goodness we fired him. It took him 3 months to even think about giving me a start date - never did give us a start date. I fear we would still be waiting for him to do something, anything -- And I shudder to think how long it would have taken him to finish. He agreed to refund some of the deposit we gave him but that has taken forever to follow through on that promise. We got part of the refund but the rest was supposed to be sent the first week of October. It is now the middle of November. We still have not received a check. We should have gotten the entire deposit back. In the end, we paid him and for what - I have no idea. He said he DID spend time on our project. I wonder how much he thinks our time is worth? Once again, excuses. I would not hire Mr. Turner to build me a dog house. First of all, he is not timely in anything he promises to do and secondly, he is way, way, way too expensive. I think Mr. Turner is more suited for the smaller, handyman jobs. I also think he tried to bite off way more than he could chew and failed miserably, at our expense.

Initially, they quoted me $700, and I told them is it that low. But when they came back they said its $1400. So I ended up not going with them. **UPDATE** I gave this review over the phone and the point I was trying to get across was not achieved. So I will try to clarify. No one from Turner ever came to my house... The counter top supplier representative came out to the house just to get rough measurements to get an approximate cost for materials for a laminate counter top which was approximately $700. When I spoke to Mr. Turner the first time after getting the measurements, he quoted me $700. I thought this was pretty inexpensive and even commented so and he said that was all and that he would call me back to get me the schedule. I didn't hear anything for the rest of the week and the following week, I had to actually call THEM to try to schedule a time for them to do the installation. After getting in touch with MR. Turner, he said they had made a mistake somehow and the cost of materials was $700 and the installation would be an additional $700. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, however this was an extremely time-sensitive project and getting a quote for one price and then waiting 1.5 weeks to find out that it was double the original quote was unacceptable. I ended up buying the counter top from the supplier and getting another contractor to install. I have no doubt they would have done a good job based on the other reviews on this site, however this mistake cost them our business.

Mr. Turner had some great ideas for the project and is very cordial and friendly but in the end, we decided to use a local team to do the work. Mainly because it would have been more expensive to have a group travel every day to work on a project that was going to take several days. I would like to thank Mr. Turner though, for his promptness in returning my calls and for his honesty.

They were fantastic and I plan on using them again.

Our 10 month old Labrador puppy chewed our drywall, baseboards and shoe in numerous places in our living room and dining room. Justin provided an estimate based on pictures I'd taken and the description I'd given him over the phone. His crew was there with 36 hours of the estimate and provided outstanding service and an extremely professional job. You cannot tell that any damage was done to our home. The job was wrapped up in the amount of time he estimated. I would work with them again and recommend them to anyone based on timeliness, quality of work and professionalism of team.

They are very neat, and they put stuff down to cover all the furniture and the move the furniture and put everything back. They had the best bid out of the five I received.
