Don't hire anyone else if you need HVAC install/repairs. Rodney Moody, owner is one of the BEST in his field and I have used him to repair messes from another installer. Recently used him to install a new complete system in a new home. They worked all day without a break and made sure everything was absolutely perfect before leaving. I am very grateful to them for ALL they have done but especially now knowing that if anything were to break, he will be there without complaint or delay and secure knowing they will always service the unit to keep it like new. They are truly the nicest and most professional company you will find and I know they take great pride in their reputation and work so I never have to worry. So many people will take your money and do as little as possible. R&S is priceless because you get more than you actually pay for in service and security knowing they take their customers satisfaction seriously. and will always be prompt, efficient, honest and professional. I would never recommend anyone else when it comes to HVAC. Truly the gold standard in the business.

The tech came out that morning. He told me over the phone what he thought the problem was and brought the part with him. It was indeed the motor. He replaced it quickly and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Our heater wasn't working, and R&S came out very promptly. They determined not only the issue, but that the heating unit wasn't wired properly to being with when the house was built (2004)! They corrected the wiring at no charge, and we signed up for their seasonal checkup plan. The technician was neat, polite, efficient, and did an excellent job. Definitely will continue to use.

service went very well, tech responded same day as call. Had to order part and returned when he said he would. Spent the time to go over the whole system and check that it was all ok.
Description of Work: had a problem with a circuit board on my heat pump which caused it to ice up badly. The tech (Britt) cam out and found the issue, ordered the part and came back when he said he would. Very professional service.

My overall experience with this company has reminded me that 'keeping our business home' may not always be the best option.
Description of Work: R and S installed a heating and air system in my home. Unfortunately, the installation was not completed properly and additional visits to my home were required before all issues were resolved. For example, the heating system to the unit did not work until a second technician came to the house and "grounded the system." And, because no heat or air was coming from the vent in the half bath a third visit was required. Following the third visit to my home - the visit to fix the vent in the half bath - I returned home and discovered that every land line in the house was dead. I immediately phoned my contractor. In turn, my contractor asked me to contact the owner of the company - after all he said, "the technician must have tripped the phone line in the attic." Upon hindsight, it really was my contractor's responsibility to make this contact; nonetheless, I phoned the owner of the company and attempted to explain the reason that a technician needed to return to my home for the fourth time. Three minutes into the conversation the owner of the company said to me that the problem was "that I thought I was better than everyone else." At that moment I made it clear that our conversation had ended and I disconnected the call. Because I believed the owner's response was so outrageous, so rude, and even frightening, I became concerned over the very workmanship that his technicians had performed. As a result, I incurred additional personal expenses to bring in a second company to my home to evaluate the work that was done and to contract with them for future services. Coming from a family of small business owners, I understand the frustrations of owning a small business during these less than favorable economic times. I also understand the frustrations that small business owners experience when their employees do not complete a job satisfactorily. However, never have I been spoken to in such a fashion by a small business owner; neither has the owner of this company ever attempted to apologize for his less than kind remark.

Response from R&S Heating and Air Conditioning
We did install a heating and air conditioning system for [member's name removed] through a contractor we have worked with for over 15 years. That much is true but unfortunately a good bit of everything else in the Member review is either half truths or just not true at all. She has been told this before but she seems unwilling to except the truth of what actually has happened. Bear with me and I’ll try to address these accusations one at a time. 1. Had to come back and ground the system. Grounding of the system is done through the electrical wiring from the home’s breaker box. We did not install the electrical wiring to the equipment so therefore the grounding of the system was not our responsibility however we did correct the problem at no charge. 2. Half bath not blowing hot air. The duct to the half bath which is in a cramped attic space was tripped over by another contractor without our knowledge. Several weeks earlier when we completed the job everything was blowing as it should be. We came out and reconnected the duct to the half bath at no charge. It was an honest mistake by the other contractor but still not our fault. 3. Made 3 trips to get system working. The Member states we made 3 trips but only mentions the 2 addressed above so I’m assuming she is counting the system installation as the first visit. 4. All landlines in the house had stopped working. We went to her house and discovered that the main junction box in the attic that was installed by the phone company was defective. We replaced defective junction box at no charge. 5. Owner made outrageous, and even frightening remark that I “thought I was better than everyone else”. This is probably the most offensive half truth of all. The Member did contact me about her phone lines what she leaves out of her story is the 10 minutes of berating I endured from her. She monopolized the conversation and blamed us for everything under the sun, like issues addressed above. She also expressed dismay and anger that she wasn’t left any contact information and had no idea who installed the system even though our name is on the thermostat and stickers with our company name are on the indoor and outdoor units. She would not listen to anything I said to try to set the record straight as stated before she wouldn’t hardly let me talk, she only talked over me with just either irrational or mistaken charges. She was one of the most condescending customers I have dealt with. The Member is a dean or professor at the local college and maybe she is accustomed to talking to her underlings in any fashion she sees fit. Maybe she doesn’t realize she is doing it but she had talked to my employees in the same fashion when we were at her house before working, and I finally had reached my end with it. Unfortunately I did state she thought she was better than us (not everyone else as she stated). In my mind why would a person think they have the right to talk down to another person in such a way if they didn’t think in someway they were superior to them. As far as the remark being frightening that makes no sense to me, I wasn’t raising my voice I just stated what was obvious to me. I am not necessarily proud of the statement I made but everyone reaches a point where they have to standup for themselves. I should have chosen better words to do so but I do not regret taking that stand. She did not inform me she was ending the conversation as she stated, she actually said “you will hear from my attorney” and hung up. She wasn’t interested in the truth or the fact that the stuff she was complaining about just wasn’t our doing. She doesn’t seem interested in anyone’s opinion or thoughts but her own. If she had only listened she would know the electrician did not hook the ground up to the indoor unit correctly causing the furnace to work intermittently when it was switched form cooling to heating, and that we had nothing to do with the wiring. 6. Owner’s remark was rude. I find this remark somewhat hypocritical. She was not only rude and condescending to my other employees but to other contractors as well. We were told by others on the job that they couldn’t wait to be finished with her job because she was so difficult to deal with, difficult to please, and demanding. I think the reason we have been singled out is because we would not allow her to speak untruths about us or disrespect us. 7. Had another company to come out and inspect our work. If this did indeed happen apparently they found no issues with our installation or I believe she would have listed them in her “review”. 8. Has given unfair grades on most everything (see below): Price: C- It hasn’t been possible in over 10 years to get a complete system (ductwork and equipment) like hers installed for $3000. She is actually mistaken on this point because it cost over $4000 to install the system but it could have been $2000 and we still would have gotten a C. Quality: C- If the quality was so bad why is it not state it in her testimonial that the other company found any problems and what they were? It was a simple textbook installation. Responsiveness F: Both of the above issues were reported to us well after 5:00 pm and we showed up by 9:00am the next morning both times and fixed the problems that again were not caused from the work we performed, and again at no charge. Punctuality F- This makes no sense because we never made any appointments with her therefore she never had a time given to her to expect us and she wasn’t there either time we came out and repaired the 2 issues. We had to go through the contractor for scheduling and again we were there first thing the next morning on both accounts. As far as the installation in general we were the first contractors finished. So I’m not sure why she gave us the F except she really doesn’t like me as a person. Professionalism F- This one I understand. We did disagree and I did stand up to her condescending attitude but for 99% of the installation things were on schedule and peaceful. As stated before we were the first contractors finished. We stayed ahead of schedule the whole job. We have a very good reputation in our service area. Around 75% of our business comes from word of mouth with the rest coming from existing customers and other advertising. We can offer numerous positive referrals to anyone who might be interested. Realistically not all jobs or all customers can be ideal because there will always be situations and people that cause challenges. Whether it’s a difficult installation due to not having near enough room for ductwork, difficult personalities, or other problems we have learned to do the job as we’ve been trained and to the best of our ability. That way regardless of anything else the system works correctly. We have successfully addressed every issue that the Member has raised with our work but to no avail. We have repaired or replaced what was needed to fix each issue (even if it wasn’t related to our work) yet she remains unhappy and at this point I don’t thing anything could change her opinion of our company. Although we strive to please each and every customer the words of Abraham Lincoln still ring true: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. Thank you for taking the time to read this novel of a response but it was necessary to effectively address the accusations leveled against us. If anyone has any questions I can be contacted at 770-537-1141. Ask for Rodney Moody.
