I made the mistake of paying 50% down. Don't give this guy a penny in advance. He went to my bank and cashed my check, and disappeared for 5 weeks. In 6 months he only replaced the easy half of the roof. A roof should be a 1-2 day job. He only replaced $200 of rotten wood of a $5700 job, and $1000 of painting on a $6850 paint job. He lied about having insurance. He sent me a insurance certificate but never paid the premium. When I pointed this out to him he went to a different insurance agent, took out a policy and once again did not pay the commercial insurance premium. I had $10,000 of continuing inside water damage because he never finished the roof, and finally had to hire a different roofer to finish the job. He painted the outside before repairing rotten wood and siding, including painting over rotten wood. At 6 weeks rusty nails were showing through the paint. I view this as a scam to get my money. I would call an average of 10 times before he would send a worker. He would say a worker would come day after day, and day after day have a different excuse as to why no one had showed up. He took my gutters down and they are too bent to put back up, so I will have to get new gutters. He left the place a mess with trash and roofing nails all over the place, and I had tpo pay another contractor to clean up his mess.
