Kilmurry's Tree Service did an incredible job for us. All of our tree work had to be done by crane. I wanted to be there to watch but work got in the way so my wife took videos. This crew had their stuff together. Awesome job!

Crew arrived at 8 AM and promptly set up the crane in the driveway and went to work. Because a crane was used, there was NO machine traffic in the yard and no disturbance to the grass. Crew members coordinated exceptionally well with each other and worked with very little wasted motion or idle time. At the end of the day, 22 trees were removed and the property was cleaned up exceptionally well. The only remaining evidence of them being there was the big area of open sky along the driveway and a stack of logs in the cul de sac which were picked up a few days later.
Description of Work: Had a large number of trees along side our driveway, some of which were leaning toward our house and motorhome which is parked in the driveway. We had 10 of the worst trees marked and secured estimates on removal of the marked trees. When Kevin came to give an estimate, he said our situation was ideal for his day rate, where he furnishes equipment (including a large crane) and a crew of 6 to work for 8 hours for a set price. He assured me that his crew could remove the 10 marked trees and more in the 8 hour period. His day rate was actually less that other estimates I had for the removal of 10 trees.

They did an EXCELLENT job!! They showed up to give us a quote the day I called to request it. The office staff was very responsive to my husband's questions and were easy to work with on the contract. They came out late today to cut the trees down. Very impressive to watch them work!! They got all 3 trees out with damaging either house, the fence or the patio!!! They cleaned up the mess and you would hardly know they were here!!! The entire crew was very polite and professional. They worked hard and had the job completed quickly!! I highly recommend them and would use them again!!!!
Description of Work: Removed three very large evergreen trees that were very close in between our house and our neighbors. There was also a brick patio and fence right next to the trees.

Excellent work and would highly recommend. The showed up on time and got to work quickly. The brought a lot of equipment and nice size crew to get the job done quickly. All 4 trees were gone, brush completely cleaned up, they took the wood with them and spread out the chips from where the stumps were ground. They used the crane to take down the trees which provide much more safety than just ropes and a climber. They were very careful to not mess up the yard and put down plywood in locations were it was needed. The small area where the yard was slightly damaged they were quick to provide extra seed and soil to repair. They were 1K below their competitor on pricing.
Description of Work: Remove 4 large trees close to the house and grind down all stumps.

When I came home after work that same Wednesday evening, there were massive ruts and a major hole next to where the chips were dumped. I was not contacted AT ALL about what had happened so I had no idea what was about to unveil itself when I drove up to my home. Who does that? Damages your property and doesn't even have the courtesy to tell you anything? Needless to say I was horrified. I doubt seriously that I would have ever been contacted by Kilmurry's if I had not made the first contact via telephone the next day. Whoever answered the phone initially gave me the cell number to Kevin Kilmurry and said I would need to speak with him about it. When I called that cell number for Kevin, he proceeded to tell me his chip truck had "sunk" into my yard and got stuck and told me I was supposed to inform them of any pipes anywhere in the vicinity. What? I do have a culvert in the area but it was not affected. The only requirement by Cobb County, Georgia, that I am aware of before services that is mandatory, is the "call before you dig" requirement. There was to be no digging and who am I to know all pipes underground on my property? Am I supposed to have a schematic of underground locations of pipes or something? Any way, Mr. Kevin Kilmurry ranted and raved about his truck being stuck and the situation was my fault for not telling him about an underground pipe (culvert) that wasn't even affected. That culvert was installed over 6 years ago by the county. I could barely get a word in edge wise with Mr. Kilmurry so I just raised my voice over his to say are you going to fix the damage or not? He said no and continued to yell, so seeing I couldn't even talk to the man I hung up. Mr. Kilmurry sent a young driver who apparently was not a seasoned veteran to the buisness as he got out of his truck and went around the property before getting back into the truck and proceeding on. What had to pull the stuck truck out of my yard was a bigger truck used for hauling trees that was already loaded down with huge trees and of course was much heavier than the truck that was stuck. The major ruts in my yard are humongous and very deep. When my cat was walking in them it disappeared from site. I have pictures I hope I will have a chance to attach here. I have already made my complaint to the BBB of Georgia and sent an email of notice to the registered agent of the company, Ronald F. Dubranski, II, that the damage must be fixed and put back to the same shape it was before Kilmurry's destroyed my yard by May 19, 2013 or a lawsuit would be filed the next business day. Have not heard back from anyone as of this writing.
Description of Work: Drop off of free wood chips. I called several tree services to be on their free wood chip delivery service. Kilmurry's called me on Wednesday May 8, 2013 to see if I wanted a load. I spoke with Julie office CEO, CFO and Secretary according to Secretary of State records. The conversation was short as Kilmurry's already had my information for street address and contact information. Julie did ask me if I though the grass was dry enough and I responded I did not know. I also mentioned that if they clipped the tree nearby where I asked the chips to be dumped not to worry about that. I assumed as long as Kilmurry's has been in business it would take the appropriate precautions if the grass was not dry enough and that was the short of the conversation.

Response from KILMURRY'S TREE SERVICE
To answer this response is an interesting story. We were working in the area doing tree work and this non customer called me because she wanted a load of wood chips. To understand the story we never worked for this person and I've never met her in person only on the telephone. I had no problem bringing her a load of chips but the conversation on the phone went this way. I explain to her that we would need to dump the wood chips on her driveway. She said no I want the wood chips in my backyard dumped in my garden. I again said no we need to dump on the driveway I do not want to take a truck through the front yard around the left side of the house into your backyard to dump chips in your garden. She then demanded no I want the chips in my garden so I proceeded to to explain to her what the options are for us so she would understand that I was not responsible for any damage to the property if I take the chip truck in the backyard. She stated that we would not be responsible for any damage if I would dump the chip truck in her garden in the backyard. My next question was is there anything in the front yard or side yard that I need to be concerned with by taking a truck through the yard. She stated to me the only thing I need to worry about is when I go around the house I might break a branch on the small tree on the front left corner of the house. I again stated to her if we take this truck in the yard we are not responsible for any damage to the property and she agreed so I said OK we will take care of this. We got there to dump the truck we backed up through the front yard around the side yard to dump in the garden. The one thing that she did not tell me is earlier in the year there was a bad storm and the pipe that is underneath her yard the storm pipe broke and they had to dig up her whole front yard and replace it. So a truck should've never been in the yard but when the truck went around the left side of the house it fell in the pipe. This was a brand-new truck that was about ready to fall over on its side and be wrecked. The neighbor across the street ran over and said if I knew you were going to back up in that yard I would've stopped you and he said that she should've told you never to take a truck in that yard because she knew better. The neighbor brought me shovels and rakes to get some of the chips off the truck so we can try to hook another truck to it to get it out safely without flipping the truck over. We had to shut down the main job for two hours to bring a larger truck over to hook to this truck to get it out safely. The big truck had to sit in the front yard and hook chains to the other truck to try to pull it out safely and that's where the ruts in the front yard occurred trying to save a brand-new truck from being wrecked on its side. It took multiple positions with the big truck to get this truck out safely without letting the truck flip over. We finally got the truck out safely and left the property. Remember with the customer it was discussed at the beginning that she demanded the chip truck to be backed up into the backyard to be dumped in her garden and that we had no responsibility to any damage to the yard that was the agreement. This would be the second part of the story. She called me up screaming and yelling that I need to take care of the damage on the property knowing that we had an agreement. Also that it was her responsibility to let me know that the front yard was unable to hold a truck when I wanted to dump on the driveway in the first place. Remember she is not a customer we never worked for her. The next thing I know is she said she was going to take me to court. Due to all the witnesses that were involved I said that's no problem it will be proven in a court of law that you are lying. The neighbor across the street was a full witness that had no problem coming to court to testify against her and I was going to testify against her plus my employees. In the meantime we were putting the case together with the neighbor and the employees on what this woman is trying to do to my reputation. The court date came up and she dismissed it on the same day and did not show up and she would not take any phone calls from anybody from then on to this day. Also why we were waiting she tried to go through the Better Business Bureau and they also turned her down and dismiss the case. Trying to understand how this is on Angie's list is incorrect. The only way that you can review a company is the company has to work for you before you can review it. Till this day we try to get this removed from Angie's list and we sent all the documents from Better Business Bureau and all the dismissal papers from the judge explaining that this should not be on Angie's list and they still to this day refuse to take it down. If you notice all other sites refuse to post anything she had to say because it was not true and defamation of character and slander to my company only Angie's list has this listed. If you really pay attention to the bottom of this review all rules were broken you can only state questions at the bottom of this review only if the company worked for this person. At the bottom if you notice she states don't use this company beware the problem is we never worked for her she doesn't know our work at all and if you notice on the rest of the Angie's list and all over the Internet our reviews are A rated. This is why this is only on Angie's list because they're the only ones that would allow this to happen. No other site would let their customer do this to any company knowing it breaks all the rules of reviewing .

I m elderly and disabled and live in a lower middle class neighborhood. The man from Kilmurry came by and acted like he was too good to even be in the neighborhood. He was here for less then 3 minutes, looked at the tree from driveway without even walking down to see the damage and said it would cost $1000 to take down the tree and haul away, gave a look of contempt when I worriedly asked how much if they didn’t haul away said $500 if they just left everything and did no cleanup- and then abruptly left.

Response from KILMURRY'S TREE SERVICE
I've been in the tree service business for almost 30 years. This would be the fist time I had a home owner give me a bad rating because she didn't like my estimate on her tree work. I am very surprised that this customer would do this over just an estimate, I treat everybody the same on every estimate that I go on I'm sorry that that she did not like the way I estimated the tree but due to our overhead and how we do things in a tree service business that was the best estimate that I can give her. This should have never been on Angie's list we never worked for her . We were never hired by this customer. To be able to try to ruin somebody's great reputation just because she didn't like the estimate breaks every rule of reviewing companies that's why it's only on Angie's list !!!!

My backyard was so overgrown we couldn't see the back fence. Kevin came out to give me an estimate. Took one quick look and said it would be a flat daily rate of $3500.00 for 2 days. (I wanted my yard taken down to the dirt and Kilmurry's was the only tree service who said it could be done.) Jason and crew showed up on the scheduled date and time and promptly started clearing my land. Jason at first was overwhelmed at how much work was ahead of them and not sure if it could be done in 2 days. They removed at least 30 trees some of which were at least 50-75 feet tall without any difficulty. They had to go thru my neighbors yard to reach my backyard. They placed plywood down on my neighbors yard to protect it from all the equipment and for the most part it worked. There are a few places on their yard where the plywood moved and there are bare spots that I will need to reseed. I am amazed at how efficient the crew was in getting the job done in the allotted time frame. Since I contracted for 2 days at the flat rate, the guys were able to canopy the trees in my front yard which were draping over my roof. They took much care not to damage my fountain and "yard art" that I had under those trees. The guys left both days with no debris in my yard or on the street. Kevin Kilmurry came by several times during the 2 days to make sure I was pleased and also gave me the names of several places to get landscaping materials at a much better price. He also put me in touch with someone to grade my yard at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Kilmurry's to anyone who is needing tree and brush removal. I know I will contact them again when I need work done.

I called Kilmurry's Tree service for a free estimate, and Kevin promptly came out to my house. He was punctual both times and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help. He and I agreed on a price, plan of action, and a date to be completed. The crew showed up on Monday 6/25 just as he said they would. Jason (crew leader), Chris (crane operator), Robert, Willie, and Ethan were ALL very polite, professional, worked hard, and performed like a "well oiled team". They showed up promptly, got to work without any undue delay, and worked tirelessly until the job was complete (it was 98*F). They left my yard in great shape....like they had never been there. The trucks and equipment were all well maintained and clean. This crew did an OUTSTANDING job removing some BIG trees from my side and back yard with the crane (lifting the trees over my house at times) and they spent the time necessary to clean up....and did NOT damage my concrete curbing or tear up my yard in the process. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who needs trees removed...and is looking for a team of professionals to do it.

Kevin and Julie are very receptive to accepting calls, responding to messages and reacting timely to your request. We had an extensive area of an overgrown back yard cleared for a pool. This area was completely excavated then wheat strawed to prevent erosion. The front yard which required access through a delicate lawn was professionally completed with no sign of heavy equipment on my sod and an outstanding clean up for the entire job.

They did a fantastic job of removing the tree from the deck and then from my property. The prompt service made my life a lot easier in such a trying time. They have the proper equipment and the manpower to provide excellent service.
Description of Work: Due to a storm with high winds , a tree from my neighbor's yard came down knocking one of my one of my trees down ...all of this ended up on the back deck of my house and doing quite a bit of damage. To say I am extremely happy with the service would be something of an understatement. They could not come on the day originally scheduled because of a situation but they called and made sure I was ok with the delay. Then the weather delayed things another couple of days but things cleared up and the crew showed up on the day and time promised. We have a chainlink fence around our back yard and they were extremely careful not to damage the fence or our house (three of the trees we had removed were within 20 feet of our house). The crew was fast, extremely efficient, safe and professional. I would recommend Kilmurry's to anyone without any hesitation at all. In fact, we are thinking about having some tree outside our fence taken down at some point in the future and will not call anyone but Kilmurry's Tree Service. One additional comment, you do not pay until the work is done and you are satisfied with the result. Not many companies will do that anymore.

All this was done using a crane that went over top of our house. It was amazing! They had munchers out front to feed in the long trunks. They were very professional. They probably wouldn't be cost effective if you had just one tree that you needed removed, but for multiple it is. They topped the tree off and worked down to take large pieces off using the crane so they didn't have to make the tree fall. They cleaned up all the debris when they were done.

This was my second experience with Kilmurry's. Mr. Kilmurry responded to my request for a quote within 24 hours. He quoted the removal of the tree, and also negotiated the trimming of four other trees in our yard, the trimming of all shrubbery around the house, splitting of some firewood left over from his last visit and the grading of the entire side yard where the large tree was to be removed, up to and including clean-up and preparation for seeding. The work was completed on the day promised, and was up to the same professional level and excellent quality of his previous work. His crew was clean, courteous and professional as well.

I have only the highest compliments about the service we received from Kevin and his team. They showed up on time, performed the removal very efficiently, went to extremes to make sure that the sprinklers and lighting were protected, and completed the job all in one day. The wood was all removed, with the exception of some that I kept for firewood; which they stacked for me! And the entire area was cleaned up after they were done. I have never received better service from any company. Kevin was very involved in the process, his team was overwhelmingly courteous, and they didn't miss a lick! They even cut a slice of the largest tree for me to use with the neighborhood kids to learn about how old the tree was, and how the tree grew differently over the years. We may have to have more trees removed in the future, and if we do, I will only have to make one phone call, to Kilmurry's.
Description of Work: Four large dead trees, one of which was simply massive, were removed from our yard. The largest, which was a white oak that was 38'' at the "waist," and over 80 feet tall, was within 20 feet of the front of our house. We were also very concerned about potential damage to the sprinkler systems and landscape lighting, all of which were in the vicinity of the trees. I received quotes from five different tree service companies several weeks ago. While Kilmurry's quote was not the lowest, his quote included everything from dropping the trees to hauling off the wood and grinding the stumps. The only other quote to include the same service was in excess of $10,000. While I was waiting to put together the cash to get the job done, Mr. Kilmurry checked in with me on at least two other occasions to make sure we had not forgotten him, and showed a definite desire to win my business.
