A disaster from the beginning. Very expensive mistake on our part.
Description of Work: they quoted a price and then tried to charge double the quote. Worked very slowly and wanted to remove roof from second building before replacing roof on first, leaving our equipment subject to rain. Did not finnish the job and walked off. Hired a roofing company to come in to complete the job.

Had problems with adhesive and grout he blamed in on the materials. Caught him in one lie after another. Found out later after work was just about done you really shouldn't put tile in trailers. As a contractor he should of known this and told me. The only room in the house that doesn't have grout cracks etc is the one room he didn't do. So that tells me it was his quality of work. He lied to the grout company and got a refund for all his labor . He made a mess of my ;house and a year later I am still working through it. I have pictures of the quality of work if anyone needs to see it. He also stole from me. We went together to by the materials I paid for it . The adhesive we bought that he recommended cost 32 a bucket. When we found out that was wrong he took it back got the money and never gave it back to me The difference in what he got was a 50 pound bag was 6 dollars versus 32. Also went to Lowe's where we purchased and found out he had returned alot of of other things and got the money. I went to a lawyer and the police because we didn't have a written contract they both said it a he said she said and I needed to take him to civil court. The man is in bankrupcy and the lawyer told me I would win the case but never see any money . Just do alot of research before you use this person I can give a list of names of people he did work for that was not satisfactory. When you catch him in a lie he cries and apolgizes and does it again. The floor has alot of highs and lows in it . Terrible job!

Response from Thomas Ferguson Builders
The member wrote: “Had problems with adhesive and grout he blamed in on the materials.” The reason there was a problem with the adhesive and the grout was because an hour after we would leave she would intentionally, after being told to not walk on the tile or push her mother in the wheel chair on the tile, she would do it anyway. This caused problems in the tile popping and cracking and the grout not settling in correctly and movement of the tiles. Caught him in one lie after another. Found out later after work was just about done you really shouldn't put tile in trailers. As a contractor he should of known this and told me. The only room in the house that doesn't have grout cracks etc is the one room he didn't do. So that tells me it was his quality of work. She was not lied to about anything, she was advised in the beginning that she should go with hard wood and it would look beautiful in her home. She insisted that because her mother was in a wheel chair she wanted to put the tile in. She was told time after time to get her and her mother out of the home so the tile could be put in and she wouldn’t have to worry about her mother. Being the selfish and pessimistic person that she is would not listen to anything that she was told not to do. She was the reason for the tile popping and grout cracking and movement of the tiles after being placed. He lied to the grout company and got a refund for all his labor . He made a mess of my; house and a year later I am still working through it. When the grout company for Grout Boost had been contacted and a representative from the company and from Lowe’s came to her home, it was determined that the batch of mix we had gotten of the Grout Boost was bad, even after the representative had mixed the grout mix, there was still the same discoloration and shrinking of the grout. The grout company did pay us for the removal and replacement of the grout. She was told at this time it would be best for her mother and her to get out of the house while the grout was being removed, she refused to leave and didn’t care for her mother enough to get her out of the home, since she did have breathing problems. She was present at the times the representatives were at the home and was completely informed not just from me but also from the representatives who came to her home about the problem. Also went to Lowe's where we purchased and found out he had returned a lot of of other things and got the money. I went to a lawyer and the police because we didn't have a written contract they both said it a he said she said and I needed to take him to civil court. The man is in bankruptcy and the lawyer told me I would win the case but never see any money . We have pictures as well to show that she had taken her mother across the tile, recording of her son admitting to us that she had been walking and stomping on the floor, and this would be done when she got mad and would intentionally push her mother around on the floor. As for the amount of the flooring and the grout, she was there at Lowe’s the night everything was purchased, and with a statement from the representative at Lowe’s, she was insistent on wanting the 18x18 tile, which isn’t a good idea to put in her home, but she insisted that she wanted the tile and then she wanted the top of the line. She was advised that the product she had questioned about and wanted was new product and it was pointed out to her then that she was paying more, her comment “You pay more for the best”. After we got tired of the constant screaming and cursing every day, and to top that off one of the workers was bitten on a daily basis by her dog that she refused to put up or do anything with. And she refused payment, all work ceased. All material was left under her carport for her to what she wanted with it. She had all receipts (original) pertaining to anything on this job. She approached Lowe’s about returning all of the material, which she returned what material was left for her. She did contact the Sylvester Police Department and we were contacted about a possible theft by taking of material from her home. We brought copies of the receipts from Lowe’s and copies of the receipts where material had been returned and proved our case that we did not steal anything from this woman. And by no means was she charged $8,000.00 to complete the job. We have also been to a lawyer about taking her to court for the $1,123.76 she still owes us and we were told by our attorney if we wanted to take her to court we could and we would end up having to put a lien on her property. He did believe we would win the case because of all of the proper documentation on the job and the letters from the grout company and the representatives who looked at the house and a different contractor who had also came and looked at the job and stated he wouldn’t have touched the job. He also had done work for her in the past and she has yet to pay him completely for the job. Just do alot of research before you use this person I can give a list of names of people he did work for that was not satisfactory. When you catch him in a lie he cries and apologizes and does it again. The floor has alot of highs and lows in it . Terrible job! We also have hundreds of satisfied customers who are more than willing to allow future customers to come to their home and see the work we have completed and the great job that was done for them. She is also failing to mention that last year a roof was put on her home by our company and she absolutely loves it. She also didn’t mention the jet tub which was put in and the custom framing and tiling that was done for her there either. She was getting low on her funds and didn’t want to pay anymore on getting the home completed. Even though she is wrong, there is a contract and I have the original of it and she has breached the terms of the contract, not Ferguson Builders. She is also claiming that we were caught in a lie and would cry about it. Again not once was she lied to, she was told the truth. The reason she has highs and lows in her flooring is because she allowed her nephew to come in one night and take up the tile that was loose, from her walking on it, and he mixed the grout to thick, and didn’t removed the old grout and placed more under the tile and attempted to reset the tile piece. We refused to fix what her nephew missed up unless she agreed to pay for and she refused and this is when the large disagreement has started. She has known my wife and her family for years and is still friends with one her Aunts. She also attends the church in which my wife has grown up in. Because of her malicious lies, my wife will not return to the church she has known all of her life and has caused tension within the family. My wife’s Aunt acts as if my wife is dead and isn’t a part of the family, she has also turned against her mother and trashed her mother’s name for no reason. This complaint is just the icing this company needs to the defamation and slander case, and law suit that will be brought against her and Angie’s List because this is malicious intent to destroy this company and our lives have been affected because of Deborah Mills’s false statements, lies and viciousness of her lashing out.

Response from Thomas Ferguson Builders
The member states that we started a job in 2009 with him and completed only 25% of the job and left with his deposit of $4500.00. This statement isn’t true. The member approached our company about completing a roof repair on a home in which he was renting to Mr. Ferguson after a hard storm had come thru and there were massive leeks in the home. The member was given a price to complete to job and to repair the chimney. The member was told a deposit to order his 30-year architectural shingles from Lowe’s was needed and that was $2,201.45. After the shingles were ordered and delivered, work was ready to start. The member had stated he wanted to purchase the rest of the material, which included felt and cap nails. Mr. Ferguson told the member he would go to Lowe’s with him so that he could get the same contractors discount. Time went by and the member approached Mr. Ferguson about the progress of the roof, at this time the member was informed that until he purchased or gave the money to purchase the felt and cap nails, the job couldn’t be started. The member then informed our company that he would not put any more money into this house and he didn’t have any more money to give, he also stated that the insurance claim money that was given to us was all that he had received. After this our company contacted the insurance company and the adjuster for a copy of the report, which was given to us. The member had been given just over $6,000.00 to have the roof repaired. When the member was confronted about this, he did admit to getting that amount from the insurance company but no longer had the money. Later our company was informed he used the insurance money to take his family on a trip to Mexico Beach. After several attempts to get the cooperation of the member in the financial aspect of this matter, he repeatedly told our company he didn’t have the money to put into the home and would not be spending any more money. the member was asked if the work was to commence, how he would pay for the labor on the home, he stated we had already received all of the money he was going to give a total of $2,201.45. The member was told this was not acceptable, there was a large argument and matter was taken to court by our company. The member did not post these comments about our company until after he was reported for insurance fraud and our company never received another cent from the member. The member was already refusing to pay for felt and cap nails, and most importantly the labor on the house, then no Ferguson Builders did not complete the work; for a company to complete a job knowing a customer such as the member will not pay for the labor, would be insane. To complete a job knowing the customer is not going to pay any further monies and can’t afford it, would put our employees in a horrible position, and not to mention our company. We are in business just as any other company to make money, but we are not in the business of ripping customers of their hard earned money away from them. Ferguson Builders strives and works hard to ensure that our customers are treated with professionalism and get the results of an outstanding job well done.
