Voltz Electrical Service

I called Voltz to come out and do some electrical work for me which included wiring a wet bar and potentially adding an additional circuit breaker box in the garage. They did come out to do the quote on the day they said they would, but consistently found every excuse in the book NOT to do the job. The guy (believe his name was Ritchie) said it was going to be a lot of work. Ok, that's fine...I believe "I" was the one paying him, and if it was a lot of work, then I would be paying for that. Then he said that my drywall would be damaged, and a lot of it. Ok, we could fix that too. He told me that what I had originally wanted done, could not be done but he could do it a different (easier for him, but more unsightly for me) way. He spent the entire time walking around the house shaking his head, complaining about how difficult the job would be. I started thinking that that antic was perhaps his way of preparing me for the highly inflated quote he was about to give me. Then he gave me an astronomical ($3K to $4K) quote and said he would call me later that day with a more precise quote. He did not call back that day. I called him the next day and asked about the quote and he said he would get back to me in 2 hours. He never called, and that was almost a week ago. In the meantime, I called another electrical company, had them do the work, the way I had originally wanted (and the way Voltz said was not possible) for under $1,000. I would never use Voltz. It was very clear they were out for a quick buck and didn't care what the customer wanted. I would not waste my time again with this company.

Installed a new 4 foot ceiling light in the kitchen. Placed new bulbs in the fixture.

Trouble shooting (T/S) a 3 gang switch box, a 2nd switch/box tied to main switch box. James listened to the details, immediately started circuit checking, found the problem and repaired it. Both he and his help man/apprentice were professional, courteous and worked well as a team. Apprentice re installed the switches and cover plates while James gave me a quote on adding an outdoor outlet. The quote was reasonable and that work will be scheduled within a day or two. T/S was $ 85 plus $ 15 for a minor repair.

Did a good job, but several times during the visit, electrician answered his phone to talk to other customers. Work was fine and reasonably priced.

They showed up on time and immediately proceeded to find the cause of the problems. Almost immediately, they resolved the problem with the electrical outlets around the house. On a reasonable time, they found the cause of the problem with the light post. The repair would include digging and find the wire that supply power to the post and repair/replace it. This could have taken hours, meaning a lot of money @ $85.00 an hour. Since I was familiar with the work, I decided to finished myself and safe me the money. I would use them again and do recommend them for any electrical repair you may need.

In the end I was satisfied with my service. It is pay-by-the-hour which was made very clear up-front and repeated. Two technicians came to my house. They were professional, polite, and called the supervisor (owner?) in immediately when they ran into a problem. The work too longer than I felt it should have, but when I called the owner he righted the situation, so I am satisfied.

While they performed the work a day later than originally scheduled, it was done very well. We were called the day before the initial appointment and told about the conflict. They rescheduled for the following day, and were there on time. Both workers were extremely professional and made the installation look as though it had always been there. During the installation, they damaged one of the light fixtures that we had purchased. They immediately went out and purchased an identical model at a nearby store. I am thrilled with the results.

Evaluated the problem, determined problem was even greater than I first thought, but after seeing the inside of the panel, it was apparent he was correct. Gave a price to fix the issue, obtained the parts, fixed it, cleaned up and verified all was well. Did the work quickly, responded quickly (actually called to say he could come earlier than the appointment time,and showed up within seconds of the time he said.) Very professional, cleaned up very well, relabeled the breaker panel, all in a very quick time. Definitely will use this company again if the need arises. Would easily recommend to others.

It went very well from the initial contact until the work was done. I was impressed with the thoroughness of the work and the care taken both inside and outside the house. I will hire Voltz again if I need any more electrical work done.

The work duration was about 3 1/2 hours. In order to locate the problem it was necessary to dismantle numerous electrical receptacles and switches in the room. One man worked in the crawl space tracing cables until the loose cable was found. Work conditions under the house were poor because of the presence of water and mud in many areas. The men restored the electrical service and corrected some errors in switch functions present since construction.

Two electricians from Voltz showed up promptly and got right to work. They were very professional and efficient in doing the removal I wanted done. I was very satisfied with their electrical work and would have rated them excellent for that. I downgraded them to good because I discovered they had not cleaned up a mess they made in the attic and had not replaced the cover to the crawl space after they left.

After joining Angie's List, I found Voltz Electric Co. who offered a coupon for Angie's list members. I was told that the service call would be $85 (approx.) and would include labor for up to 1 hour. The cost of the parts required of coarse would be extra. When the bill was written the service charge was increased to around $100 so that when the coupon was deducted the company would receive the same amount as if there was no coupon. I paid the bill and call the owner to ask about the change in the service charge. He said that that was the correct service charge. I don't think that I paid an unfair amount but I didn't like being falsely led into believing that I had a valid discount coupon for trying this company. Everything else about the repair was very satisfactory. I am a new member and didn't really know how I was supposed to report this experience so didn't keep the receipts. The date of the service is approximate. I am sorry that this report is so late in getting to you but I have overlooked your email until today.

Arrived on time, found the issue quickly & even swepped the side walk clean when finished.

We were having some issues with lights in our house. Called and they were at the house within 2 hours. Friendly, smart techs did a great job and were up front with all costs. Will definitely use them again.

Voltz Electric promptly returned my original call and set an appointment to estimate the job. The Voltz representative arrived on time and we discussed the job and was provided a written estimate prior to his departure. During the estimating process, the Voltz representative indicated that he was uncomfortable with cutting the hardwood flooring for the floor box and requested that I find another contractor to cut and install the electrical box prior to their arrival to perform the electrical connection of this box and the other receptacles in the Master Bath. About an hour later, I received a call indicating that they had forgot to include the materials for the floor box in their original estimate and that the estimate would be $100 higher. After additional consideration, I decided to hire Voltz to perform the work. As requested by Voltz, I located a local electrical supply house that had a duplex floor box kit in stock and proceeded to purchase the box, cut the floor and install the box. Since the Great Room is built over a crawl space, I decided that I would also purchase the electrical cable and perform the entire installation myself. This was successfully completed and operational by the time Voltz arrived to perform the other work. On the day of the appointment, Voltz showed up on time and proceeded to install two duplex receptacles and a coaxial cable drop in the Master Bath. All work was completed, but not without issues related to the routing of the electrical cable and coaxial cableand a minor issue associated with the fact that the duplex receptacle's color and the coaxial cable receptacle didn't match, even though I had requested that both be either dark brown or black (the cable receptacle was white). All work was completed and Voltz did a very nice job cleaning up the mess created. Since Voltz completed the job, I have had to purchase and install a white 20-amp duplex receptacle and a white dual position switch plate.

The guys were very professional and pleasant - I'm glad I called Voltz and will call them again in the future!

Friendly, professional, on time. I will use this company again.

I called on Monday and they scheduled a visit for Tuesday between 10-2:00. They arrived shortly after 11:00 and gave me an estimate. They said they could do it the same day which worked great for me.They started right away. They were very polite, protected my floors and were very professional. They used the existing wiring and installed an outlet with a cover closer to where my new disposal was going to be. They cleaned up everything. When it came time to pay they had forgotten to add the parts to the estimate so it was about $24.50 more than what I was quoted. Since they apologized many times, I let it go. I also got a 10% Angie's List discount .Anyone can make a mistake and they were very sincere in their apology. Besides, I called one day and got the work done the next day. Last time I needed an electrician the first one I called said he didn't do small jobs and the second one said it would be the following week before he could do it.

Great! I was truly impressed.

Techs arrived in precribed window of time. They were both polite, respectful and answered all my questions as well as described services rendered which was easily understood.

the electriction was knowledgeable, on time & interacted with us thur out the procedure, showing us what was being done, & what caused the faulty switch.

Fantastic job! A few months ago we had hired a different company to wire our deck and they made a mess of it. I called Voltz and they set an appointment for the very next day to come out and troubleshoot. They arrived in their Volt-mobile on time and I showed them what the trouble was. It only took about an hour and a quarter and they were done, but I changed my mind and decided to have the fan on continual power (using only its pull chain rather than on the same switch with everything else). The guys were wonderfully accommodating and had everything wrapped up in two hours. They were efficient, courteous, and professional and I will absolutely use them again!

I needed an electrician to do a few small jobs around the house. It's hard to find somebody who wants to do small residential electrical jobs. Voltz came out and did everything well and quickly.

The two men (I am bad with names), were polite, prompt and professional.

Arrived promptly and came back to complete the job a second day. Efficient 3 man crew.
