It turned out to be a complete failure. His subcontractor, who was supposed to pour the footing, was told instead to pour a 4" monolithic slab with a turndown footing, which is NOT what the drawings and specs called for. Mr. Tanner was never on the job himself, never oversaw work, and then had the gall to tell me, after the footing was improperly done, to "don't lose any sleep over it." I advanced him $11,266, as he appeared to be an honest person, and it turns out now I'm suing him to recover my funds since he has not returned them on his own. He now claims he owes me nothing for the work done, none of which was acceptable and against codes. I found out an expensive lesson about advancing any contractor funds before work was done. No material was purchased or any expenditures except what he should have already made with HIS money.
Description of Work: Work was to consist of a room addition to my house, 24'x16', which included slab floor, brick exterior and all interior work and finishing, as well as some minor plumbing.
