Zero stars. My father was scheduled for open heart surgery, and I wanted to get some things done in his home before he was released from the hospital. I called One Call Handyman Services and was told that they'd send someone out to do an estimate for the work. I was also told that the estimate would require a $38.00 fee (even though it says "free estimates" here on Angie's List) which would be applied towards any work I chose to have done. The gentleman who did the estimate was late, but when he did show up he was personable and seemingly thorough in looking over the work to be done. I paid the $38.00, and he said that I should get an email and/or a call on the next day with my estimate. This was on February 1, 2016. It is now April 18, 2016. I have heard nothing from this company. They took my money and never provided an estimate. At this point I would not ever want to do business with such an unprofessional company, especially one that would take advantage of a family while we were undergoing a medical crisis. However, I do want to warn others to stay away.

Brand new home (1yr old) received damage on the inside walls in the family room and exterior back side frames and hardie board siding from a botched cable installation job. Previously received estimates totaling $1700; frustrated from the attitudes of other contractors, contacted Angie list and One Call Handyman was recommended. Thank you God they were outstanding, very professional, and the quality of service was remarkable considering they beat the competitors pricing by $800 and time frame for the repair by 5 days. Once the estimate was given we contacted them two days later set up the date and time for the repair and the work was completed as scheduled. Given the new home I was upset from the damage but they were very patient and understanding. Each time I called the office they were customer friendly and more than happy to assist, to include returning all calls within a timely manner. My home was restored to its original state and you can't tell the damage was ever there. I love you guys and highly recommend their services to others,the work completed was amazing, reasonable, and the degree of quality & care given was truly heavenly!!

I have used them before for few different projects. Even though there are a couple of things not quite right, they work really hard to make it right. The final product is very good. I would probably use them in the future.

Paid my $38 estimate fee. Two weeks later and three phone calls to company, still no estimates.

I turned out well. He's a nice guy.

They are one crew and they're very good.

They were good. I was only there for the initial introduction, but when I came back from work my mother and I were very satisfied

The service man who installed the window toppers did absolutely excellent work. He charged a reasonable price. His office was very upset - wanted to charge a WHOLE LOT MORE. The man did excellent work, work to be proud of - Sorry that he got chewed out for his efforts. A different service man tried to install an and quot;on-the-roofand quot; antenna. The installation went well however this company did not provide him with the proper detection equipment to make the appropriate hook-ups. (I have 3 TV's in different parts of the house - previously connected by Comcast.) The owners of this company do not appear to have a good balance between profit and service. Would have been well suited for work in the sub-prime mortgage industry a few years back. (Of course there are a lot of folks out there that continue to think fleecing people is and quot;smart / where it's atand quot;.)

Called to get estimate. They stated they would come out and do and estimate the charge for the estimate was 68.00. This was a high price for an estimate and I decided to not have them come out.

It was before I moved here. I moved here to take care of my Mother, who is very sick. It was prior to 6 months ago. My mother made the payment arrangements. My mother wanted the kitchen redone, but she did not think she could afford to. She talked to this contractor and researched it, she went with them. A very nice man came out and talked to my mother. She was getting a little sick. She loved her kitchen, but wanted to make it better. They gutted it and put in appliances. She adores the cabinets they made. She is very protective of them and shows them off. She heard about them from a friend. There was a little bit of confusion about scheduling and due to her age, she was taken aback by the demolition work. She was relieved when it was over, due to her mental state at the time. The price seems very reasonable. We were satisfied with the price. We have not a single complaint. They have served us well.

We received an estimate about a week later detailing the work that needed to be done, and the cost. We were not ready for a bid to come back at $2400.00 for these repairs. Back to Angie's list to try other contractors who did not charge an estimate fee to come out . We called Lovelace Windows and Roofing...no estimate fee for coming out. We were extremely happy with the thoroughness of the inspection and the knowledge of the inspector!!! He gave us a quote on the spot, never having to refer the job specifics to a boss. The quote was for $750.00....a third of what was quoted by One Call Handyman. We hired Lovelace on the spot. They came 5 days later with a 5 man crew and had all the work done in 2 hours!!!!! They walked around the roof to spot check other areas which could cause future problems. They found and repaired two vent areas that looked questionable to them...all at no additional charge. The work they performed has a one year warrenty...which is standard for both companies. We had used One Call handyman in the past before they started to charge an estimate fee and we were pleased with the job they did. I am concerned they charge an estimate fee, then jack up the project cost, to make sure they DON'T get the job but still keep the $68.00 fee. It left me feeling my job was small change to them and they had bigger payouts elsewhere.

I paid the company $68.00 for an estimate to perform work at my building. The contractor came assess all I wanted and told me I would recieved an estimate in 3 days but a week later I never recieved the estimate so I call the company. I was told that he was still working on it and I would recieved the results in a couple of days. I recieved a call a week later stating that it was too much work and the owner has another company that will give me the information and can do the job. I am still waiting for the estimate to determine if I will allow this company to perform the job. This was since May 22, 2013. Thank you

Responded very quickly with accurate and detailed estimate Finished work BEFORE the agreed on completion date (went out of their way to finish project early since I was expecting house guests) Very timely, polite, professional employees (incl. office personnel) Phone calls were returned without delay

he came on time, fixed our problem and left. i was very satisfied with his work.

One Call responded within one day after being called. They started work that day.After locating the problem causing the ceiling damage, they fixed the toilet ring and started work on the ceiling. An exterior door was ordered.A day later they finished the ceiling and installed the door. The following day the door was painted.They were always on time, professional and pleasant.

I had other bookshelves there that I wanted the new one to match in style. When the new cabinet was delivered it was different from the others. But they quickly had it changed to match. In the end, it came out exactly as we wanted

He did an excellent job and did it on time. He was very courteous and prompt.

It went pretty well. They were professional and quick. I don't have any complaints.

I did not have the work done as I am not going to pay someone $48 to verify the work I had described over the phone. It seems to me that it would certainly lend an incentive to have them do the job whatever the price.

Took an inordinately long amount of time and disruption and fisnished product was not up to par.

The contractor never called me back after our initial contact. I would not work with them in the future.
