I don't ever write negative reviews, but we had the worst experience with Meetze Plumbing. It started ok, but it fell apart pretty quickly. We have tried to get them to resolve the issue beyond the measly $500 off our bill they offered. We hired them to move our bathtub drain and water supply to fit our newly purchased free-standing tub to replace our builder-grade tub during our bathroom remodel. The first technician that came out was polite and moved the drain and water supply based on the schematic for the new tub. We paid that bill. The next step was to have the floor and wall tile installed which we did. Then, Meetze was to come in and install the tub. A new technician showed up and, when it became clear that the drain was not moved to the proper location because the tub wouldn't fit, he let us know the first technician no longer worked for them. He moved the drain to the new location after we had the floor tile cut to accommodate the new hole in the floor where the technician marked it. This appeared to solve the problem, but, when they placed the tub, we noticed that the water supply (installed in the wall) was not aligned to the center of the tub. Due to this issue, we could not use a standard length tub spout or the water would pour over the tub lip onto the floor. We brought this to Meetze's attention, and they sent someone out who determined that a floor joist prevented them from moving the drain to align with the water supply. We couldn't move them both without major tile demolition on both the floor and the wall to move both the drain and water supply to align. At no time did Meetze offer to pay for the tile work to make it right. So, we sucked it up and ordered an expensive long tub spout knowing that it would always bother us that the water supply and tub did not line up, but at least we could use the tub. When we finally got the tub spout in the mail, I was excited to try out the tub, but, when I climbed into the tub facing the water supply fixtures, I could clearly see that the faucet handle and tub spout were also not aligned!!! The faucet handle is about 1/2" off center of the tub spout (see picture). I contacted the owner with no response and replied to the invoice email requesting that an owner or manager reach out to me. Still no response! I know people make mistakes, but they should be corrected. If we ever sell our home, someone with the smallest bit of OCD will not be able to handle the misalignment of the tub, tub spout, and faucet handle. The only communication Meetze is happy to send is an invoice asking when we plan to pay. I am paying the invoice now, as much as it boils my blood to pay for such shoddy work. Please do not use them. They may be a little less expensive than the other guy, but it is not worth the headache and the permanent damage to your home.

This is the only plumbing contractor I have ever worked with the CHARGES potential customers for an estimate & I work in commercial construction. I travel 7 states to complete site evaluations for potential projects for FREE for a living for a general contractor. And not only was this NOT a small job or minor repair I needed completed, but we live less than 5 miles from their shop! It's called SALES - Meetze. Don't waste your time residential customers.

These guys are on the ball! Rawl came out Monday to quote installing more Natural Gas lines in our 1938 home. He was able to do the job the same day. He and his worked until 8:30 that night to get our job done. He has kept in touch with me daily as we wait on inspections and a new gas meter to finish the job. He was so nice. He put up with my silly jokes and singing as I was freezing and that's how I deal with stress. He made a difficult day so much easier.

What happened? This buisness has gone to the dogs. No respect for the customer's time, money or needs. I moved to Columbia in September of 2021. I called Meetz when I had a pipe burst. They came right away and fixed it (expensive but they were quick). Then I had them install a $5000 waterless water heater. Later, I had them install a new water line for my refrigerator and intall a water pressure flow regulator. Again, expensive as h*** but they came and did the job well. Last year, I had them install a new toilet with no problems. I was talked into purchasing an annual "membership" for $95 dollars which is supposed to give me a 10% discount on jobs and "priority" service. PRIORITY, my a**! Trouble started soon afterwards. I had a leaking water showerhead. So, I called to make an appointment. I was given a 1-4 pm time frame a few days later on a Friday , (not priority, if you ask me). I took off that day and waited and waited. 1:00 came, then 2:00, then 3:00 and then 4:00. No one showed up so I called and complained. Finally, one of their plummers showed up around 7:00 pm. Hardly priority and definitely LATE. I complained to the plumber but accepted his story they were playing catch up since a freeze had done damage to more LUCRATIVE jobs than mine. I told him I needed my other shower worked on and it was going to cost over $1000, plus add a new water shut off valve for over $500. He had me sign estimates and was going to come first thing Monday morning. I got up at 6:30 am Monday to empty the closet space he was going to need to access the shower. 8:30 came and he was a no show. So, I called and was told he would be there at 10:00 am. He was a no show. I had an appointment with a doctor at 12;45 so I had to cancel. Priority service, right?? Then I called and complained to Meetz on Tuesday and their records were all screwed up and had no record of an appointment! So, I reschedued for Wednesday. On Wednesday morning, some company manager called to say they were sorry but promised me they would be there that day as scheduled. Guess what? Yep! No one showed all day even though I told the manager I was taking ANOTHER day off to be there. I had told her I could understand them running behind but why can't they pick up the phone and tell me? She said I was preaching to the choir and that was not how they do business. Well, they apparently, they do conduct buisness that way now. No one called to tell me they were not coming. No one did anything for me at all. So I canceled the appointment at 7:00 pm as he was obviously not coming. I demanded a refund on my worthless membership for "priority" service. I will never do buisness with the company again. It has, over a short span of time, gone down a toilet they can't fix. For the ridiculous amount they charge, is it really too much to ask for a phone call to tell me they are running late or not coming? If you are going charge me a king's ransom, then give that level of service in return. After what a dog this company has devolved to I have to put them down. AVOID!!!

We called at 9 am scheduled a house call, we were give a time frame that someone would be here between 1pm -4pm. No one ever called or showed. We started Calling at 430 to be told several times messages were being sent to dispatch. At 6 pm the operator told me that she does not have a way to contact dispatch and if management hasn’t called me back in 30 minutes to call another company. Now my family has no hot water and it’s far too late to call another company. Poor customer service no communication skills whatsoever. I WOULD NOT recommend this company.

My mother has dementia and when she told my brother that her toilet was having problems he called Meetze to come and fix it for her. I visit once a week and had previously heard it make a loud high pitch sound when it was flushed. I'm not sure what was actually done because while the sound is gone, now the toilet is running/ constantly filling with water after flushing unless you jiggle the handle for several seconds. It also appears to have a leak at the bottom of the commode base. She was charged well over two hundred dollars for the visit (it was either 226 or 262). I called and asked what service the technician had performed as I wanted to make sure the tech had not taken advantage of my 75 year old mother. The person answering the phone told me the bill said they had unclogged a toilet. When I questioned why it was that much to unclog a toilet and why it was still having issues I was told the company would call me back - they did not. I myself used this company a year ago to install me new sink handles on all my bathroom sinks and a light fixture. I was shocked at the price but didn't know what the going rate was, and if there hadn't been any issues it would have been ok, but one sink leaked after it was installed, and it took three months to get the tech to come back out to fix it. He also didn't put silicone around the bases of the fixtures which another plumber told me should be done for long term protection. I would not use this company again or recommend them to others.

Company is very over-rated, gouges customers especially senior citizens. My condo is on the 14th floor and I was having problems with a washing machine backing up. I called Meetze, signed an annual service agreement, and paid $862.63 which included a $89 service agreement. Meetze ws not only to solve the problem in my condo but also was to review the pipes "on the other side" of the wall owned and controlled by the condo organization which was included in the $862.63. This, however, was not included in the final report. So, I called the manager, explaining all of this. He sent out two other technicians who also charged me $118 to check out the condo pipes owned and controlled by the condo organization. When I attempted to explain I had already paid for this, the personnel indicated there was nothing they could do about the situation. Then I experienced water back-up in a bathtub and drainage stop-up in my air-conditioning unit two other technicians came out and charged me $355 (took them all of 20 minutes to unstop the air conditioning drainage and they basically did nothing about the bathtub except to come in and use a plunger to make sure the commode was not stopped up and recommended a new stopper for the bathtub. They were "drainage specialists: and would have to re-schedule someone else to come out and replace the bathtub stopper. shame. Never call them is my recommendation. I certainly will not be using them again without some refund of the $1,335.63 I have paid!!!!!

A guy from the city came out and located the leak which was on my side of meter. Called Meetze, very professional I will say (did try to get me to pay additional money to check out my water heater, I declined). The price was $719 which included a $49 flat fee just to show up. The job took 2-3 hours (but an hour was just waiting for joints to dry). Knowing now what was involved, I would have fixed myself for less than $50. Just felt the costs was excessive.

I had a plumbing issue with my toilet. I contacted Mr. Andy who is a Manager to explain my issue and inquired about Service Maintenance Plans. Mr. Andy is very Professional, Personable, and Knowledgeable. He patiently explained various Maintenance/Repair Options and Service Maintenance Plans. A Professional Technician, Mr.Willie arrived within 30 minutes. He Repaired the Toilet, which had a Broken Seal. The Repair Service and Customer Care were so Exceptional, I purchased an Annual Service Contract. There Are No Hidden Fees/Cost or Extra Charges as they provide a Written Cost Analysis/Breakdown before they begin the work. I Highly Recommend "Meetze Plumbing," which is a locally Owned Family Business that offers Competitive Pricing, Various Coupons and even Financing is available for qualified clients (18 Months Interest Free). Most importantly they are "Baby Boomer" and Veteran Friendly! Awesome Awesome Family Based Professional Company with Integrity. Thank You Mr. Andy, Mr. Willie and The Entire Meetze Plumbing Family.

Terrible. Highway robbery. Charged $580 for a 30 min project to replace a $100 garbage disposal. When I called and spoke to the owner he only agreed to take off the $49 service fee and told me that I didn't know what things costed when it came to plumbing and he wouldn't be in business for almost 40 years if he was ripping people off. I have family who are contractors, plumbers, and builders in another state who said it shouldn't have costed more than $350 max. Would definitely never use them again or recommend them. It infuriates me that they ripped me off then tried to justify it! Stay away!

Response from Meetze Plumbing
I did speak to the customer about her complaint. The responding plumber did quote her husband who authorized the work. As I understood the customer is a nurse and was asleep when we met with her husband. I regret the customer feels like we overcharged her. Our policy is to always be upfront with our prices so our customer can decide. We never do any work until it is authorized. I am sure had we know that she needed to be included in the decision this would have been resolved.

It went terribly wrong. The technician wanted to charge me $330 to replace these two hoses for the hot and cold water leading into the washing machine. At Lowe’s you can get them for under $40. While there, he went under my house and then came back in and said that Meetze plumbing recommends replacing a hot water heater every six years. He gave me an estimate of $1800. Every six years is unnecessary. He also said my copper lines were corroded and should be replaced. My first hot water heater lasted 19 years. He said he could have another technician come and give me an estimate to replace all of the copper lines. Taking advantage of the old is not nice. I called John, the manager, to ascertain if this was a rogue technician. John refused to call me back after I left an extensive message on his phone.

Response from Meetze Plumbing
The charge was for more work than the customer claims. The work was to replace the plumbing and install a washing machine outlet box, water piping, and 1/[Member Information Removed] turn valves. The work included two non burst hoses. I called the customer to resolve and during our conversation she understood the charge and that the plumber did good work. So, I am not sure why they now feel necessary to make this complaint. We work hard to be upfront with pricing and scope of the work.

We have used Meetze for 30 years, but will be looking for a new company. I believe the company changed ownership 3 or more years ago, and pricing has gone through the roof. Most recently, we had a service call to make sure no plumbing was leaking due to a sudden $400.00 water bill. We have a service contract, and I was told the visit would be free. Well, it turns out only the trip charge was free. Once the serviceman (who was very professional) 'touched' our plumbing, our charge was $177 (that was 10% less due to contract). The cost was not discussed ahead of time as I was told it should have been. Service was on site 30 to 40 minutes and was very thorough. Nothing wrong with plumbing, but meter is very difficult to read. Now facing a total of almost $600 for this month, including the plumbing check up. Prior to this (about 2 years ago) we were quoted $5000+ to redo our plumbing on the second level. Another company gave a quote of $3200. As it turned out, we were able to have it done when our kitchen was remodeled and they could get in the walls, which were exposed, it only cost about $1600 and Meetze did it; however, they sent inexperienced plumbers (no longer working with the company) and we had to have two separate repairs, AND our plumbing was relocated inside our bathroom cabinets that takes up more space because it was 'easier' (per follow up visits). We were not asked about relocating. During all this process, one experienced plumber told me the reason for the higher prices is that they now have a list of charges and they can't deviate from those and that they are a lot higher than previous. We've had enough now. Looking for a good replacement company.

Showed up during agreed time. They were quick and did a good job. Sean Kirkland took the time to explain everything and I was pleased with the work. The price was reasonable. They inspected all the plumbing in the house and offered some additional services, which I declined at the time, and seemed to honestly discussed the pros and cons. No hard sell.

Very well. It took longer than estimated, but this was due to unexpected issues that they had to resolve. Needed to bring in someone to unclog drainage pipe - had them at my house the same day. Everyone was friendly and very professional. Derrick was very thorough in making sure all issues were resolved before her left. They even installed two bathroom faucets that needed to be replaced, which was not part of original estimate. I only paid a small amount over estimate due to calling in outside resource for clog. They placed tarps on inside walkways so they didn't track in dirt, and cleaned up everything before they left.

We puchased a new Delta faucet for our kitchen and called Meetze to do the replacement. They made an appointment for Wednesday morning, but then called Tuesday evening because they could come a littler earlier - which was great! The technician told us we needed a different type of valve and that would be an extra charge. Total quote was over $600 and we provided the faucet. We declined services and paid the $49 estimate fee. After watching a YouTube video and a quick trip to Lowes, we replaced the valve (took 10 minutes) and the faucet (another 30 minutes). They were courteous and responsive, but fees were outrageous for the type of work to be done!
