Very fine job. Thoroughly enjoyable experience as I like associating with professionals and learning a bit about their trade. Highest quality parts used and installed using the proper tools and adhesives and fittings. I scheduled this job with Meetze based on trusting Lee even though the final negotated price, product and terms were not updated on the proposal. I received exactly what we agreed on and in a timeframe which was very convenient for me, but not convenient for Meetze or Dale. Needless to say, I was generous with Dale and also called Calvin Meetze to praise Dale and Lee for their professionalism. The price I paid was high for a water heater, but excellent value for the particular heater which was installed and for the quality of the installation. Best of all my costs per year are predicted by the energy label on the heater to drop from $900 per year to less than $200 per year. And the heater is 98% efficient and the gas byproducts of combustion are so cool and clean that the vent pipe can be schedule 40 (cheaper than cpvc). Since the installation, my family, kids and grandkids have had all the hot water they wanted and service was better than with the 2 electric water heaters as the hot water temperature never decreases. I will likely be refering friends and clients to purchase this same heater from Meetze. I recomment Angie consider this installation for a top service listing.
Description of Work: I had 2 electric 50 gallon water heaters plumbed in series whiich supplied enough water for 3.5 baths, dish washer and washing machine. I did some research and intended to purchase either electric replacements or a conventional gas water heater and have it installed professionally due to Richland County Building Codes. I received 3 quotes and found the one from Meetze to be the most well thought out. Lee, the technical salesman, proposed a tankless water heater from Grand Hall which is a new comer in the tankless field that had made their initial money building high end grills. This product has a 2 gallon tank which eliminates the cold water sandwich effect and a 20 year warranty on the heat exchanger (best in the industry). Per my reading, the Eternal has superior parts to its competition (backed up by the installer) and is the upper end of residential tankles heater solutions. The proposal was important to me as it enabled me to switch gears from my original plans ant to figure that I would have a 4-6 year or less pay back on the piced difference due to savings over what the average cost of $900 per year for my current configuration. The eternal price on line is about $2200 for the model I purchased. The parts required for installation ran about another $500 if I were to purchase them and the rest was labor. I had negotiated for an upgrade to the next largest model and a gas line to my grill and another to a future gas range and shut off valves. Had I paid someone seperately to do this the cost would have been another $400 to $500 minimum. I discussed the proposal with several knowledgable friends, with Grand hall and did a lot of web reading and confirmed in my own mind that the Meetze proposal from Lee offered the best value. I selected Meetze on the Friday a week before Christmas at 4:00 PM via leaving a message for the technical Salesman via the secretary. On M-nday, when I called to talk with Lee, they already had scheduled me for a Tuesday installation which enabled me to get sufficient hot water for my four daughters and their families who arrived on Thursday. They arrived about 3:30PM as promised and the installer, Dale, is a master plumber and a master gas technician. I do a lot of handyman work and consider myself an expert at evaluating craftsman when working their trade. Dale was A+. All his joints, gas fittings, leveling the base for the water heater, electrical connections were excellent. He had economy of movement which showed his years of experience. The temperature hovered around freezing and the temperature inside the crawl space where most of the work was done was about 55. I was with Dale most of the time and found him to be as personable as professional. He worked till 1AM and took no breaks as far as I knew, but his pace of work was steady and never slakened. He refused my several offers for food & drink and provided his own energy drink. He picked up all the by products of the installation and hauled them away, leaving me with plenty of hot water and an asset to my home's value, Dale had his own heavy duty expensive tools which greatly facilited the speed and quality of the job. He has a $2K mechanical copper pipe joinet which enables mechanical joints rated for 50 years without the use of a torch. He had a 2 inch masonry drill which cut a hole saw type hole in the hard coat stucco with almost no chipping (in contrast to other installers who did not treat my stucco so kindly). Etc,, for other fine tools.

They identified the problem, called me immediately, and fixed the problem immediately. I live out of town and they handled everything so beautifully and efficiently, I paln on using them for all of my rentals in the Columbia area.

I dug the hole and covered it back up. All the plumber had to do was replace about a 12" section. Prompt response and good repair job, but standardized pricing made this job expensive. Pricing by the hour would have made this job less costly. Maybe I will look for plumber on hourly scale next time. I should have done it myself, but was busy with other projects.

Good experience. Professional. Courteous. Prompt. Would use them in the future.
Description of Work: Checked the dampness on ceiling and narrowed problem down to roof drainage. Very courteous. The repair was not a service that they do. He did not charge me for visit. David was professional and I would use them for any future plumbing need. Additionally the answering service, dispatcher was also courteous and had someone at the house within 30 minutes.

Nothing starts a Saturday morning like water leaking from the living room ceiling. About 15 minutes after I called Meetze I received a return call from Lynn telling me that she was on her way. True to her word she arrived about 15 minutes after she called. Lynn is professional and obviously very experienced and is willing to take the time to explain the issues she is finding and the options that were open to us. The final cost seemed reasonable considering the the time she was here and that it is a weekend. I would definitely use Meetze again.

Company refused to give estimate over the phone and said that a repair person would come out next day and provide estimate. If estimate was ok, then they could proceed with work. Repair person came on time and was very polite. Estimate for above work was $297. I thought that this price was too high so I thanked them and told them that we would not need their services. They were polite. I called another plumber and they did the work for $160.

Response from Meetze Plumbing
Our goal is to be responsive to our customers, provide quality work, dependable products, and offer competitve pricing. That is the reason we offer free in home assessments to make sure that the price does not change once our plumber arrives. I regret that this customer gave us such low ratings apparently based on a quote, but I can respect that our customers shop for thier best value.

Had Lynn (master plumber from Meetze out to the house three times. First to stop a leak in an old outdoor landscaping irrigation system. Lynn evaluated the system, told me it was still functional, gave me an excellent quote on a repair, didn't charge me to stop the leak, returned within a week to fix the system and get it working, spent a LONG time tracking down more "cans of worms" that were discovered after getting the system working, fixed every nuance (some very creatively with existing parts), discovered the water pressure to my house was almost twice the normal capacity and that my galvanized pipes would not tolerate that much pressure over time, returned on another day to fix the pressure problem (did not have the part in her truck and did not charge me for another house call on her return); was prompt , professional, courteous, friendly, provided me with very useful information, answered all my questions, and definitely gave me my money's worth of service. Excellent job, excellent service

We were extremely pleased with all the work & the speed in which it was performed. They were right on time--they were very professional. They also indicated (after my inquiry) that had they performed our prior work (a re-connect after replacement of counter tops with Corian), their charge would have been 1/3 of our cost. We shall certainly use nobody else in the future.

Our water heater burst over the New Year s holiday. We had problems getting anyone in; but I wanted to wait for a local company. The other local company (can't remember) never even showed up, but it took three days for Meetze to show up as well. I'd give worse marks for both punctuality and responsiveness if it weren't in consideration of the holiday. When they finally came, I asked for both a quote on a water heater and a tank less heater. The tank less pricing was about 3 times the price I was finding on line. They only sold a 6-year water heater, and it was twice the cost of the 10-year heater (gas) I was looking at from the home improvement store. Since they didn't have a longer-term water heater and the tank less price was higher than I could stomach, I passed. I will say that the representative who came out was very professional and pleasant and that the dispatch was very responsive to giving me updates on when they next thought someone could come, it just took a while. I would potentially try them again for plumbing work to see how they measured up. Estimated cost: $1,200.

Called in the morning, said they would come out in the afternoon. They did, for an estimate. They returned the next morning to replace it. Repairs were done quickly and to our satisfaction. The only complaint was being hosed on the price. They replaced another heater a few years ago for $500, which was high back then. Now, the charge was $700 for a $350 dollar Rheem heater and one hour of labor.

We were able to get somebody out right away after calling. He was on time and came in to take a look at both problems. He explained what was necessary to do to fix things and what the cost would be. We asked us if this was okay before starting any work. We were given a write up with projected costs and when the job was done later, that was what we were charged.
Description of Work: We had a problem with our garbage disposal under our kitchen sink that was effected the drainage to both sides. The plumber replaced the connecting hose and the disposal. We had a separate issue with the toilet in one of the bathrooms. Our little one dropped a pacifier down the toilet and flushed it before we could stop her. He snaked the toilet until it was able to flush correctly.
