gouges Mr. Skinner was punctual starting with the estimate he provided. He always called to make sure I was home and to keep me updated. He and Chris worked to first repair some rotten floor boards and then were able to sand/resurface the floors to get some gouges out. He stained the floors to match the dining room and put 2 coats of protective coating on. He also gave me sound advice for having them recoated in a couple of years if they got scratched. The floors look amazing and I thought the price he quoted was very reasonable. Lastly, he worked to accommodate my schedule and what worked best for me.

Mr. Skinner was incredibly professional and so was his team. They did the work fast and it looked amazing. You can't beat the price either. I got quotes that were much more and I don't feel that at the prices the others were quoting I could have gotten better craftsmanship than what Mr. Skinner did.

In our previous home my wife refinished all of the hardwood herself and she was very particular about this project. The fact that she is satisfied is the best recommendation that I can give for Mr. Skinner's work!

Mr. Skinner sanded and finished two very large areas in our previous home over 20 years ago. We called him again to sand and finish a room in our current home. I accidentally bought white oak instead of the yellow oak that was in a connecting room. Mr. Skinner was able to match the stain perfectly and the floor is perfectly smooth. Far better than the ones our builder had done. I hope he doesn't retire before we have them re-finished!

J.C. Skinner did a fantastic job refinishing our hardwood floors! When we called him for a quote, he responded immediately and even came over on a Sunday afternoon to look at our place and give us an estimate. His quote of $1350 covered refinishing approximately 500 sq feet of hardwood, building a threshold on one room entry and laying down a hardwood room divider to mask where a wall had been removed. Skinner and his crew arrived promptly on the promised date and worked very quickly. Total project was 3 days in length, with 4 hours of work on the first day and less than 1 each of the following days. We were very impressed by his professionalism and efficiency. We requested a special water based finish (Varethane) so the fumes wouldn't bother a pregnant wife, which he complied with and the floors look absolutely beautiful. Would highly recommend!

This is the second time I've used Mr. Skinner's company to do floors in my home. They are the best around. Fairly priced, dependable in every respect, highly professional in everything they do. I wouldn't even consider using anybody else to do hardwood floors in my home.

Mr Skinner did a beautiful job! He was recommended by our terrific realtor, Ruth Thomas. We wanted to replace approx. 1500 sq ft of carpeted area in a home that we just bought. We wanted the floor to match the existing hardwood. We arranged everything by phone because we were relocating cross country and could not be there for his estimate. He went out to the house several times to look at specifics and give us estimates. He was very prompt and very courteous on the phone. Once the house sale was final he got started right away. The job was done on time. He even pulled out an old ice-maker that we wanted removed because it was leaking and causing damage to the existing hardwood flooring. during the job it became apparent that he would need some extra materials and called me right away to approve the additional expense. Upon our arrival to the house we were very pleased (understatement) at how the floors turned out. You cannot tell that they are not original, except that the varnish is smoother. The floor is just fantastic! There was some slight damage on the stairs where the carpet runner was removed. He agreed to hand sand these areas and seal them for a minimal ($100) charge. Overall my interactions with Mr Skinner were great. I would not hesitate to recommend him and personally plan to use his services again for some repairs to a bathroom floor in the future.

Mr Skinner and his team refinished the original 1941 hardwood floors in the front half of my home. They were in pretty bad shape, with burn marks in front of the fireplace, paint splatters, and deep scratches; but they look great now! His pricing was cheaper than the other quotes we got, and I am very happy with the finished result. They used a dustless system and cleaned up after themselves quite well, so I had a fairly minimal amount of vacuuming/dusting to do afterwards. I would absolutely recommend them and will definitely call them back when I get around to refinishing the floors in the back half of the house.I graded a B for punctuality because they were supposed to start the job on a Monday, but Mr Skinner called me (with several days advanced notice) to push the start date back to Tues. This was not a problem for me, but if I were working on a tighter schedule it may have been so I wanted to mention it for the sake of thoroughness! Otherwise, no complaints!

Mr. Skinner explained his procedure to us carefully. It would take 3 days to refinish our floors. The very professional crew (Chris, Tony, and Mr. Skinner) arrived on time and finished the first sanding and staining in about 2 hours. Day 2 was much the same. Day 3 they finished up in an hour. One last thing, how often does a contractor offer to come back on his own time on Day 4 to help us move our furniture back into the dinning room and living room? I highly recommend J.C. Skinner for hardwood floor work.
