First attempt: Arrived 3 hours AFTER scheduled "latest by" hour. Cable line was not accessible because of tree growth. Told to call Georgia power, couldn't get install. (I had cancelled my previous provider since I was "guaranteed" installation on that Friday. Georgia power not open until Monday. They came out Wednesday, told me not their responsibility. I hired a yard man to cut the tree growth away. Comcast came back Friday and did install with less than 20 minutes to spare in "latest by" hour. (Been without internet for a week) Left cable exposed on ground for another tech to come bury. Tripped over that for a week... Tech installed the Internet, refused to deal with any of the Ethernet-hard-wired computers. Checked 1 wifi computer (of 5) to make sure wifi was working and left. None of the others were working. Tried calling Comcast back but they informed me there was nothing they could do about the computers connected directly to their modem/router combo, but managed to get the wifi computers connected. I ended up having to get an IT pro to come finish the setup. Still having difficulty getting full speed from 2 of the wifi devices.

30% price hike over the last 3 years! Cable TV is no longer worth it. Pull the plug, at least until competitors come into the market. I’m switching to just internet, and use Hulu, Amazon, YouTube, etc for TV. I bought HD antennas for my local TV. Oh... and offshore tech support? Give me a break.

We are still not connected to voice mail, which is still included on our bill.

Description of Work: WE had a bundle of cable, phone and internet. Everything was a constant hassle. At lease one of the three gave us problems at least 0nce a month. Calling thiem was torture with all the recorded messages and information you had to enter and then a lot of the times they ended up disconnecting you.They always had to transfer you to the proper dept that could help you only to have them transfer you to some other dept until you were disconnected

This experience was unexpectedly pleasant and stress-free. I called the 800 number to actually decrease my service level--and fully expected to be met with a high-pressured pitch to try to keep me from doing so.. Instead the service representative listened to my request, and then told me he'd be happy to help me with it--and even explained exactly what changes would show up in my billing and when. Additionally, he arranged for a post-paid box to be sent so I could send back the cable box I no longer needed. Even though the drop off location for the box is only about 20 miles away from my home, it was still a drive, time and gas use that I preferred not to have to deal with. "Have to say that my experience with Comcast was very professional and pleasant in this particular experience. Overall, I do think local service is mediocre. Every other month roughly, we'll have a service outage that will last anywhere from a few minutes, to a few hours. This isn't a matter of merely being without TV for awhile--which would be no problem. This also affects my phone service, and Internet service, which is needed for my job. Once in a great while there will be a service outage that will last for 2-3 days--sometimes weather-related, and occasionally for completely unknown reasons. No effort has ever been made to adjust our bills accordingly when this has happened. That should be an automatic thing--not something customers need to call and fuss about to receive,

Description of Work: I requested Comcast service in August 2013. Once set up, I noticed immediate spotty service, i.e. occassional dropped internet connections, phone went down, etc. By Dec, more than occasional so placed service call. Nothing done. By April, for more than 1/2 the time, lost internet connection and no phone service. I work from home so this became unacceptable. I made 3 service calls. First two times, nothing done. 3rd service call technician replaced lines, rewired in-house connections, etc. Service works great, but...then I got the bill. Charged me for entire month of service even though they admitted they could see service was down for more than 1/2 month. (They apparently can see exact times of down service.) They also charged me for service call in which the service technician admitted the wiring was original (20 years old) and outdated. He also said whoever originally set up connections did it wrong and as a result lost "ping" strength. So, my bill included $60 service charge + full 30 days of service + another $20 on for good measure (which was supposed to be a credit supposedly, but was issued as a debit) for a total bill of $243 for the month. I called to have corrected, and they told me they could adjust the $20 but that was it. All for 15 days of uptime. I have spoken to several friends who have shared similar experiences. I am changing provider as a result.

Description of Work: Customer service is slow. After they overcharged me on the first three bills, and after having to spend hours on the phone clearing it up each time, I decided to cancel my service. In addition, I was shocked at how outdated their technology is. I came from New England where we had Verizon FIOS (not available in GA), and with Comcast I felt like I'd gone back in time 15 years. They really need to update. I have Direct TV now. Couldn't be happier.

They are a little bit pricey. They are basically only one of the two companies in the area and I do not want to use the other company. They have been fine and when I had a timing problem on my television they came right out and fixed it by changing the drop wire. The man who came out was very good and explained everything to me about what the problem was. If I were to find someone cheaper I would not use them again in the future.

I like that my cable is in a bundle with them. I like their service, but I don't the pricing for the cable services. I do like their internet services a lot, but I am considering switching to another company though.
