Bennett Building - Steel Structures Division

Bennett Building personnel were very professional and master craftsmen. The work crew were punctual, experienced and removed their debris from work site. Bennett's staff delivered built the exact shed which was contracted by their salesman. I would recommend anyone searching for a utility shed to visit Bennett's sales office.

Ordered the building in August 2013. City permit was ready Oct 1, 2014. They gave me a 1 hour notice (when I was not home) and then parked a 47 ft trailer blocking my driveway the day before Thanksgiving and left it there. I had to call them several times to find out when they would be at the site to work on the building. They finally told me on Friday the day after Thanksgiving. I had to reschedule a client to be there for the construction. They did not show up on Friday. I called several more times and they told me it got moved to Saturday morning. Again, I had to reschedule my client to another week (they were not happy). Saturday came and no building installers. I called again, and this time they said they did not know when the installers would be there. We called Monday and again they did not know when they would be there. Two wasted days and very poor communications from this company. I ended up losing the client that was rescheduled a few times (so I lost a $2,000 job). So, Tuesday morning they show up at 7 AM without notice and begin the work. They stopped working at 9 PM and left (with the building not complete). We called and the company stated that the work was done and it really wasn't. There were over 25 things that had not been finished with the building so I took pictures and sent them to the company. They then scheduled a team to come back out to the site to finish the job. However, that scheduled date was not until the end of January 2014 (so I had to wait from early December until the end of Jan...so I thought). Again, the team came out and only fixed 10 of the items because the scheduler forgot to give them the whole list. This company has a very very poor inter-communication problem. The scheduler had to schedule another team to visit the site again in March to work on the rest of the list. This team again, did not have the entire list so only three things were fixed. They tried on each visit to get me or my wife to sign the form stating that the building was done but it was not as the contract stated from back in August 2013 so we did not sign saying it was complete. They never completed the job. They offered me a $250 discount for my trouble (less than 5% discount) and they were wanting to send my contract to collection services even though they did not complete the job! I paid the bill and vowed to never use them again and to tell others my story. My opinion: stay away from this company!!! They don't communicate very well and they don't seem to care about their customers.

I took a while, as I actually dealt with Smith built Storage Sheds on 1110 W CR 62 in Avon Park, FL. Very nice people and very honest, I actually purchased a shed from Smithbuilt almost 30 yrs. ago, so no hesitations to going through Smithbuilt to buy from Bennett Building in Augusta, GA. Once the permit was issued, it took approximately 4 weeks to make and then install. There was great communication from Bennett letting me know status of order. All went well, until the actual install date. The details really are insignificant, the bottom line is, the installers should ALWAYS stay in touch with the customer that he will be dealing with for that trip. You see they make your carport, then when they get 6 or 8 sheds done, in the same general area they leave GA and drive to Florida, Highland's County for me. But, once something goes wrong at an earlier install then everyone is late! This would not have been such a big issue, but I did not get phone updates at all! I have to call each time. However, once they arrived here, they were professional, deliberate and well schooled in what they were doing. Even after I was so angry with him, installer, earlier I was so happy with his work on my carport! I happily gave him and his team a generous tip. I am very happy with the structure and would recommend them.
