Description of Work: Replace the fan motor and solenoid in my very old AC unit, that other companies in the past have refused to service (and tried to sell me a new one of course). The tech Andrew was timely, efficient, honest, informative, and responsive to all my questions and concerns. Would not hesitate to call them again if I had heating and air problems. A+!

Description of Work: My air conditioning suddenly went out on Sunday morning and due to the fact it was the weekend, I assumed they were not open. I was mistaken. They advertise 24/7 and this truly is a fact. I held off till Monday morning before I called and I was told they could have somebody come out that afternoon. They did exactly as they said. They called 30 min prior to their arrival. Upon arrival, they fixed the issue in 30 minutes and were out the door to their next destination. They were kind, informative, and prompt just to list a few character traits. I would without question hire this company again.

Mitchell Mechanical did an outstanding job. When they quoted the job they gave us three options. Keeping current single zone with larger unit, upgrading to two zone system with cost saving equipment and upgrading to two zone system with more expensive but energy saving equipment. We opted to spend the extra money and put in the energy saving equipment. They showed up on time each day and finished the job in two days.
Description of Work: Removed single zone 3.5 ton a/c and furnace and replaced with two 2 ton 14 seer a/c and two variable speed furnaces with upgraded coils (should provide 16 seer performance). Replaced all ductwork with upgraded product to replace old failing product. We also qualified for a $700 rebate from Lennox due to the systems we installed so overall cost for all was $11k.

1st visit a High Voltage plug had to be replace. The representative said that when he pulled the cover off that the wires just fell off(great workmanship?) I was charged a service call. The second visit within 2 months I was told that a condensation pump that pumps condensation from the unit outside to drain had faulty wiring. Representative wiggled the wires and charged me a service call. 3rd call 1 month later the unit cuts off due to that faulty condensation pump. The pump was replace at a tune of 161.00. None of this was covered by the installers warranty which only lasts for 1 year. Customer service is lacking in this company if they wish to have repeat business. They won't have mine...

It is unfortunate that this customer feels she received poor service. In 2006 our company installed HVAC systems in more than 1,000 new homes. We also performed daily service calls for many, many customers that we did not install their original equipment. In the case of this particular customer, she did receive the standard, industry wide, new construction warranty. That is one year on labor and workmanship from our company and a five year parts warranty from the equipment manufacturer. However; the manufacturer of thermostats and condensate pumps only provide a one year warranty. The customer had been in her home for 1.5 years and had never had a yearly or bi-yearly check up or had a HVAC company perform the manufacturer recommended maintenance (manufacturers require a HVAC system to be maintained by a licensed heating and air contractor to keep the warranty current). On the first visit, 08/11/06, she was charged a $70.00 service call. The technician found that the high voltage wire at the air conditioner was loose. This is could be due to normal wear in a year time or it could have been left that way the Electrical company that the builder hired to install the electrical wiring in the house including the high voltage to the outdoor unit. Our company does provide some low voltage electrical such as thermostat wires but we do not run high voltage electrical wiring. On 09/21/06, we returned to her home and found the float stuck on the condensate pump. The technician freed the float and she was charged another $70.00 service call. Our policy is if we return within 30 days of a repair, there is no service call charge. On 09/27/06, she called again stating that the a/c was not working. The technician arrived to find that the condensate pump, as well as the air conditioner working properly. He determined that the float on the condensate pump is getting stuck intermittently and that the pump needed to be replaced. She was not charged another service call but was charged for the cost of the condensate pump. The manufacturer of the condensate pump only provides a one year warranty. Had the system received regular maintenance the problem may have been prevented by ensuring the condensate pump was cleaned on a regular basis.
