Wilson Bros Landscape

A fairly large sinkhole, apparently caused by decay of an old construction trash pit, opened in my back yard near my swimming pool, threatening the concrete pad around the pool. The area was hard to get to because of fences and other landscaping features. Wilson Bros. looked at the job and gave me an estimate that not only included fixing the sinkhole, but repairing the damage that moving their equipment across my yard would cause. When I called to schedule the job they were up-front that if weather caused delays in any of the jobs in front of mine it could push back when they could come. When rain did cause delays they kept in touch with me to find a new date that worked for both of us. On the new date they arrived when they said they would and started work immediately. The workmen were professional and courteous and did everything they promised, and a touch more. I will use them again.

Wilson Bros was very professional and helpful. I was trying to put a trench in my yard in addition to installing sod, but Wilson bros made a very cost saving recommendation for me not to put in a trench, but to just go with the sod. And they did a GREAT job with the grading and installing the sod.. They also came back the following day after a rain to fix the sod that got ruined due to a heavy rain. My backyard looks great and I really appreciate their service. Will use them again for any landscaping job

I solicited his (Brian Wilson) suggestions on designing replacement landscaping across the front of my garage and across the front of my house. He shared his recommendations and listened to my feedback making appropriate changes. His team did the work. Initially I was stunned to go from mature bushes to 'baby' plantings and groundcover. I refrained from submitting this review back in March because I wanted time for the plants to take on some size and I needed to know Wilson's response should I have questions or concerns. It is now late September and I am pleased with the landscaping. Also 3 of my groundcover plants died back in June and Wilson replaced them as promised in their warranty (though it took repeated contact) and they agreed this week to replace another plant that died. So I am also pleased with their willingness to stand by their work. Yes, I will probably use them again next year when I landscape my backyard (but I will consider paying extra for more mature plants) and yes, I do recommend them to you. I do not know if the cost of the work was a great price or if it was way pricey because this was my first time hiring out landscaping. I did not get other estimates because Wilson came recommended to me by my neighbor who is a retired master gardener.

Brian met with my husband and me at our home to see our yard and discuss with us our ideas for the space. We then met him at his office to see the blueprint of the design he had created. We could have chosen to purchase the blueprint and hire our own contractor or have Wilson Brothers do the work. We liked the plan and had his company go forward with the work. Two crews completed the work in less than two weeks. Both were professional in every respect. The first crew built the pergola over the dining area, the brick patio area, and the fire pit. The second crew planted the trees and plants and installed the uplighting and the natural stone walkway. All that was left to do was repaint (old) and assemble some (new) patio furniture. An unused area has become an extension of our home and is lovely to look out at no matter the weather. I will consult Wilson Brothers again as I continue to improve my property.

Everyone was very professional and helpful. Brian offered his opinion and showed me pictures during his quoting inspection. He also came by and walked through the plans the day of day with his crew.

I wasn't initially impressed with the workmanship when it was installed and I contact Donnie via email - he called me immediately and we went over the plan, the proposal and my concerns. He assured me that he would come out to review the work and make sure it was up to my standards. Donnie arrived the next day removed and replaced the landscaping with the correct scrubs and plants and the pavers were resealed the next day. Everything is now according to plan and beautiful. I am so pleased with the way this was handled and I will continue to use Wilson Brothers to landscape my entire yard.

Our initial contact and contacts up to and including installation seemed to okay. There were some setbacks as the lawn installation was delayed once or twice due to weather, understandable. Installation was not initially completed due to a miscalculation and was told it would be taken care of at no additional cost. Later I was called and told that an additional pallet was to be ordered and installation would be in a few days, so I said okay. It was received and installed and we sent in final check as per the estimate. Check was received and email sent to us asking us "if we had forgotten the additional pallet", somewhat arguably pointed email, and that we owed an additional $246.74 dollars. We questioned it, as we were not told about any additional cost or even given a dollar amount on our part of the pallet ordered and then said that he would revise the estimate and send me the new one with the additional stated cost which should have only confirmed to everyone that we were never told of any additional expense. We sent the check in to end this. We had an cost estimate up front then changes occurred but we were never told of cost changes. From now on I will not leave "no additional cost" as someone's word get clarity. This was the one major disappointment. In business, assumptions are not a good for everyone or by anyone. You question about using in the future I clicked Yes but it is a maybe.

It took a total of 3 visits that included walking my property and looking at pictures of what I want to see. He came back to do detailed measurements and on the third visit delivered a detailed mapping of my proposed landscaping. Donnie was the absolute best in all areas of customer service and delivered a quality product that I want his company to install.

Quick, Professional, and very easy to work with.

The completed project looks nice and the quality of trees, shrubs, and perennials installed appears to be good. The work was completed as scheduled. I was mostly disappointed with the fact it seemed I had to do all the follow up in communication, and the initial design did not at all follow what I requested. I had specifically said i did not want to put any trees in and the design came back with adding 30 trees. It worked out as i was able to incorporate some of it to my liking, but it was not at all what i expressed upon consultation. Once the work was done, I would have expected a call asking me if it was to my satisfaction, and letting me know what care/watering schedule my newly planted items needed. That only happened when I followed up with them to ask. There was also an area that was to be planted with a particular item and it wasn't there. When I inquired about it, I was told it was dormant (which was never mentioned before). Well, 10 months later it remains dormant. I didn't go back to them on it because I just didn't want to deal with the hassle. It was a small fraction of the overall cost. I made a lot of revisions to the original plan and only put in a fraction of what was in the design. The labor charge never went down. The pine straw put down was just enough to cover everything... Barely. They are worth checking out but make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing if you choose to go with them. Definitely check around.

I expressed some concerns the very day after some of the shrubs were delivered as to whether they would hide a fence that was the stated goal of the areas planting. Nearly a year after the work was performed, I continued to express concerns that these shrubs were the wrong choice for this area. After communication back and forth, I was told that the only thing wrong with the shrubs was that I had changed my mind from what we had agreed upon--which is absolutely not true; as documented in email. I was offered a $100 credit towards new shrubs as well as free labor to install them. I turned it down. I felt that I had been called a liar and the monetary offer couldn't make up for that. I won't do business with Wilson Brothers.

July 16,2014 sales person came out to my house looked at yard gave me a price thought it was good price he came back next week my husband ask about drain he said he could do that so we sent our deposit. Crew came out 8/11/14 started work did drains first that looked ok . After first rain they we found out they don't work so well. Next came grading and planting grading the grading was done mostly by hand so that part of the yard is not even at all. They put in 10 Arbovite trees they some of them looked very sick they were not planted right so they start to turn brown. Brian Wilson did come out September 12 my husband showed him some things we were concerned about he got his help back out to fix drain and bring plants that we were short. Mr. Wilson came back out 9/23 ask about grading, sod, trees, blue hosta which were not blue they were dead. I e-mailed Mr. Wilson 9/24 ask if I could just have a refund I just was not happy with work. We go back and forth so finally we came to an agreement on 9/29, The only thing he came and got was the Arbovite he said he could resale them but half of them were brown and dead. So my experience with Wilson Bros was not a good one my yard looks terrible. It's a shame I love Wilson Bros Nursery The landscape side is a different story just goes to show you nobody is perfect just watch everything they do count everything.

Wilson Bros did a fantastic job on our landscape from start to finish. Brian Wilson was patient, understanding and thorough, and he was very helpful in helping us develop ideas for our landscape. The old landscape was a disaster. Between our own unavoidable neglect and the history of the property, the grass and landscaping had largely become a ruin. Noxious weeds had taken over the lawn, there were no real outdoor entertaining spaces, and it had become an eyesore on an otherwise delightful house. We contacted Wilson Bros after a frustrating experience with another landscape designer. Brian Wilson contacted us within a day to arrange to see the location and gather ideas for what we wanted to install. We wanted a low maintenance yard, with better pedestrian guidance in the front and entertaining space in the back. In return, he provided a professionally rendered drawing of our yard including the requested features. For places where we were still unsure, he worked with us on ideas and suggestions for plants and hardscape. In the end, the design included decorative hedging and paved walkways in the front and a patio with pergola in the back. New sod would be laid elsewhere. Once we were scheduled, his crew was on time and on schedule for the two weeks allocated to finish the job. His crew were polite and hard-working, and they left the job site clean each day. We were continuously impressed with the quality of the work and the attention to detail, and at the end, he wrapped up any outstanding issues and details. We were left with a fabulous yard, and while the bottom line was high, I felt the cost was well worth the result. If I had another yard, Wilson Bros would be my first and only choice for my landscaping needs.

The work occurred in two phases and, under the direction of Donnie Brooks of Wilson Bros Landscape and design team, was a relatively smooth process. Donnie listened to my vision and meshed my ideas with his knowledge and experience to achieve customer satisfaction. I look forward to adding additional plants in the Spring.

Brian did a great job. Lawn looks fantastic. Very punctual and professional reasonably priced.l. Made some great suggestions along the way. Would definitely recommend him.

I left a message and my call was returned the next day. Brian was able to discuss with me the different options I have for sod in an area of my yard that doesn't get 8+ hours of sun. We scheduled a time for him to come out and look at the yard to provide an estimate. Brian walked the entire back yard with me and he was very knowledgeable on my different sod options. I went with a wide-blade zoysia grass. I thought for sure I would need 4-5 pallets, but Brian said 3 would do it. While he was here we also discussed having natural stone steps put in so I can more easily access the upper section of my backyard. Then of course I couldn't stop there, I had to have pinestraw added to my order. I received my estimate the very next day. It took a month to get n their calendar. To me that meant they are doing something right if they are that busy. Prior to the date when the team was to start the project I added on an additional piece of work to pull out 7 dying bushes and replace them with some gardenias. Brain gave me a new quote and everything would be ready on my scheduled day. The team showed on the day they were scheduled and got started. They were the nicest group of guys you could want working in your yard. They did a great job cutting out the old dying sod and prepping the soil for the new zoysia sod. They also cut out the dying bushes and replaced them with the gardenias. They also got halfway through digging out and laying the huge stones for my staircase to the upper level. They showed up the next day and laid my new sod, spread 100 bails of pinestraw and finished installing the stone staircase. My backyard is absolutely beautiful. After having spotty bermuda sod for 9 years, it is so nice to have green full grass. I walk around out there all the time with my barefeet. I would highly recommend Wilson Brothers. If I need any future landscape work I will call them.

Placed call and had to leave a message. Call was returned within the hour. Representative came out the following day. We scheduled for our back playground to be prepped for the spring. Work was completed on the day agreed upon. Due to construction delays our business was not able to schedule a return visit as soon as we had wanted because of prior commitments made by Wilson Brothers. They made arrangements to return and complete the job by the end of March. The job was completed earlier that originally thought. This was my first experience with Angie's List. I was and am thankful for this resource.

Wilson Bros Nursery & Landscaping were excellent. Every time I called him, he's called back. He came around and looked at it all and said he could do the work. They got on it and did a good job. He called me back right away when I first called him. He was on the other line but immediately called me back. He came over right on the dot and went over everything. We went over the whole yard and we agreed to do the work. The prices are reasonable.

Brian and his crew showed up on time and spent the entire day working on my yard. The finished job was very much to my satisfaction. His choice of plantings have done very well so far and have added new interest and color to my backyard. I also visited his nursery and it was evident that the inventory of plants he has is of very high quality.

This service was fine but the DO NOT accept credit cards.

Donnie was great. He was on time for our initial appt and very helpful w advice. We were brand new to hiring landscapers and the first quote for our "wish list" was out of our budget. Donnie came up w a cost efficient solution that got our important items done within our budget. Work was done on time and looks fantastic! Also, there were others on this list that didn't even return our phone call and others who scheduled consultations and didn't show up. Very happy w our experience!!
