Horrible ! Temporary Accommodations initially provided me with only one option 30 minutes away from my damaged home. After moving in I found that the apartment complex that I was provided did not allow temporary housing such as I participating. So, I was instructed no to speak to anyone or divulge that I was temporary, that I could not receive mail nor packages (which is tough when you are rebuilding a home), etc. The apartment was a nightmare. After movig in I found that the downtown Marta station and dozens of buses gathering at 5 am was right outside the bedroom, in addition to a homeless shelter with intoxicated people yelling all night long. There were bugs; appliances that did not function; broken, chipped, cheap glasses, plates and bowls; AC filters clogged with years of dirt; etc, etc. but worse was no window covering for floor to ceiling glass doors where everyone at the adjacent hotel and business looked directing into the bedroom and living room. All this was bad enough, until I found that the management company was entering my apartment without notifying me nor leaving any notice that they had been inside. The final straw was when I walked out of my shower with a towel to find a repair person standing in my living room unannounced claining that he thought that the unit was empty. Keeping in mind that all of my valuables from my damaged home were lying unprotected around the apartment. I finally gave notice to temporary Accommodations (after multiple complaints) that I was moving out with or without their help. They provided me with two options.... one apartment in the downtown Atlanta 4th Ward area with homelss people lying on the sidewalk, dealers on the corners and working women standing right outside the apartment.... or second, a run down set of apartments with multiple cars up on blocks and broken car window glass throughout the parking lot.... Did I mention that I was to be provided equivalent accommodations to a 2 story 2500 square foot home in a nice area of Marietta that was being repaired? After I refused the choices and gave notice of my plan to move, finally Temporary Accommodations gave me an option to take an apartment in a decent area, but said that I would have to sign the lease for it sight unseen because someone else was supposedly in it. Well, I took a chance and agreed only to find out that the apartment was immediately above and beside restaurants and a loading dock where truck arrived and unloaded all night. Within 10 feet of the bedroom window were 7 dumpsters from different companies that came between 5 and 630 every morning, and the grease collection truckfor the restaurants came a couple mornings each week at 330 am. What an absolute NIGHTMARE TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATIONS is. After I began reporting problems, they quit answering my calls and sent me to a voicemail. And after the apartments that they contracted me to failed to return my $1000 deposit within the agreed 30 days post vacating. the rep at Temporary Accommodations told me that it was not her problem. YOU ARE FAR BETTER OFF FINDING YOUR OWN APARTMENT/ HOTEL/ HOUSING THAN ACCEPTING THE UNRENTABLE GARBAGE THAT TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATIONS WILL PUT YOU IN. Oh, and if you are curious, my insurance was paying approx. $3500 per month for this rude refuse for 5 straight months. HORIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE
