Horrible. John west handled my application. I gave him all requested info, he would ask for more and more (even addresses from employers from 2016) just to keep me busy while he went on a vacation. Well about a month later, after working and digging for all this busy work... I was informed he could no longer work with me once my credit had been pulled. I asked if someone else in the company could take over my case and he wouldn't even help me with that. Complete waste of time. Do not recommend!!!

I worked with John W. upon the recommendation of one of the realtors I was working with for a second home in California after a local mortgage broker I was using didn’t respond to my message for three days (not good). Throughout the process John was either immediately available to answer my calls or emails or he responded within just a few hours, which was important to me as the purchase was taking place in a different time zone and during my busy work schedule (which left very specific times available for me to work on things). Given the higher price point of the home in California, that it was a second home, the unique structure of the income I was using to qualify, and the stricter mortgage qualification requirements these days, working with an experienced and knowledgeable mortgage broker was also important to me - and John delivered on this front, as well. Every financing related deadline designated in the purchase contract was met, sometimes early, and any “issues” with documents I provided along the way were promptly addressed with clear explanations AND resolutions. And where possible, John would reach out to my realtor and Escrow company for answers/updates when I didn’t even have time to breathe. With those experiences with John behind me as closing/funding day approached, I had every confidence that things would go as planned and I would have the keys to my new home as scheduled - and I did. John is great. He listened to my concerns, and was super responsive. I originally contacted Stellar Mortgage to get information on whether I would be able to qualify for a loan being 4 years out of bankruptcy. John explained that he worked with multiple banks and that he would find one that would work with me. He found me a bank, got me a super low interest rate even with my credit history, and walked me through the entire process. John was always available to answer my questions, as I had many with this being my first mortgage. He was knowledgeable on everything, from how much I could withdraw from my 401k, to the rules on gifted money. And if he didn't know something, he looked it up with me right there on the phone. The service level provided exceeded all of my expectations. When it was time to close, I felt super positive and comfortable that all of my bases were covered, and that John had taken care of everything. I would highly recommend Stellar Mortgage.
