SOUTHEASTERN MORTGAGE SOLUTION

As I have read in my research I contact many different lenders to price/comparison shop mortgage rates and closing cost for a home we were undercontract on. I chose who to get quotes from by referals, other service review websites and my realtor. Reece at SEMS had the best interest rate for the loan I was looking and comparable closing costs. He also had very good reviews on another site, but they were mainly for refinances. My husband and I were learly about using someone who no one we knew and had used. But by talking to him and reading his reviews we proceeded with our mortgage through him. With our contract we had to close by a certain date and Reece assured us before starting the process with him he could meet that date and probably be able to close earlier. Well after setting 4 different dates to close and having a multitude of issues and lack of communication on his part when we arrived to finally close at the attorney's office we were told it was not going to happen, not by Reece but others. We tried to call him a number of times and he would only communicate to us by text message. Since this was a Friday we our drop dead date was Thursday we had to wait another 2 days for him to finalize the papers with his lender. We had changed our plans so many times based on his commitments and guidance that we had it and we supose to be out of place the next day. Reece showed no remorse for the stress and hardships he caused us due to his lack of follow-up. We ended up closing the following Monday after we had pay an additional $500 to stay in our current place 4 additional days and lost 5 vacation day between my husband and myself planning for and taking off for the other scheduled closing and moves. SEMS was the best deal and over the course of our 30 year loan will save us money, but if we had to choose again we would not use Reece at SEMS again nor refer anyone to him unless they were not under a deadline and liked to micro manage and follow up with someone multiple times a day.
