REASONABLE RATES MOVERS, LLC.

SHORT STORY: Would not make right what they messed up. I will never use this mover again and recommend that people look elsewhere. LONG STORY: At the beginning of August we hired Reasonable Rates Movers to relocate our family's belongings from our 5 bedroom home in Lawrenceville to a new house in Buford. Prior to doing any work, we were required to sign a contract for the labor. Although I requested four movers, one was unavailable so three movers (including the owner, Ray Valentine) arrived on time on Friday morning to move our belongings. They seemed to wrap our belongings well and proceeded to move our stuff from place A to B. One of the items being moved was our laundry washer and dryer... which they disconnected and transported without incident. I was hospitable to the movers - offering drinks throughout the day, buying lunch, and generally helping as I could. The washer was put in place and hooked up by the movers, but the dryer was NOT hooked up because the electrical connection was different (it needed a 4-pronged plug, which I purchased from home depot, installed and put the dryer in place while the movers were there). When everything was placed in our new house, they put together my granddaughter's day bed with the backboard (main part of the bed) on backwards - with the design facing the wall. I noted this to the owner, and he said that they would take care of it. About 45-minutes later, they told me that the move was finished, and they packed up and left. I paid the bill plus tip for ever mover (about $900 in total) and they went on their way. Unfortunately, they left without fixing the bed. I immediately contacted the owner (Ray), who looked into it and agreed to meet me at the house later to fix the bed. He met me on Sunday following the move, and after he and I went to Home Depot to purchase new bolts (some of the old ones were stripped) we spent a few hours and got the bed fixed. He held true to his word and made it right. Unfortunately, after he left I had started a load of laundry and prepared to leave to pick up another load of items from the old house. As I opened the door to the garage, there was a water leak from the ceiling... right about the area where the washing machine is upstairs. I immediately ran upstairs and shut off the washing machine (while standing in over an inch of water) and upon investigation found that the movers had put the washing machine in place, hooked up the hot and cold water supplies and turned them on, but left the drain to the washer on the floor behind the washing machine. Obviously, when the washer went through its drain cycle the water just went all over the floor. We immediately cleaned up the water and pulled up the wet carpeting in the hallway, master closet and bedroom (three walls surrounding the laundry room). The padding was soaked, and had to be removed. I went out and bought some box fans to dry the underlying floor as well as the carpeting, and we continued to assess the damage. The resulting damage was that the carpet padding had to be replaced in sections of three rooms, but the carpet itself was fine. The drywall in the ceiling of the garage had to be replaced (two sections) and repainted. I immediately contacted the owner (Ray) to let him know what happened and he told me that he would have to speak to his advisor. He noted that the contract that we signed basically says that they are not responsible for anything that they break. What? How can they not be responsible for doing something wrong? I'm a big believer in doing what's right, and asked Ray repeatedly if this is what he feels is the right thing to do. Because his installers didn't do the job correctly, we suffered financial (and significant amount of time) damages, and I asked him to make it right. Basically, he ended up just telling me that I had to read the contract and that he wanted nothing more to do with me until he sees me in small claims court. Since the move, I have found four pieces of furniture that are now nicked and significantly dinged following the move. I hate to write negative reviews about anybody, but I feel compelled to warn others that if they decide to use Reasonable Rates Movers that they are will be held to a contract that says that anything that the movers do wrong is not their fault. They are supposedly bonded and insured - yet did nothing to help us with the issue that they caused. I would warn others that they use the services of Reliable Rates movers at their own risk. I personally will never use them again.

They were very professional and made sure that I stayed within the 3 hour time frame. I am very pleased them would recommend them to others. They knew exactly what they were doing. They accidentally broke one item, but were very quick to replace it.
