The owner Gordon was great. He was referred to us by another friend that had recently purchased a home that needed a lot of work. Gordon came to our home at the time he said he was going to be there and that was something different than we had experienced with other contractors. He didn't push any services on us that we didn't want but did act as a consultant on what would work and what wouldn't work. He told us the work would take a couple weeks and it did. He brought his crew in and they worked very well without bumping into each other?the best part is that we didn't have to leave our dog at the kennel?they were all very nice, but we stayed out of their way?The theater is beautiful and kitchen ready for the holidays? We would definitely use them again and refer to our friends and family.

This is one of the best decisions I've ever made.  I chose to work with Provenance Construction Services.  All of the workers
involved, from plumbers to electricians to painters, were on time, courteous,
and conscientious. The end result is a living space that is, for all practical
purposes, perfect. I would recommend the high quality of their
work to any potential customer.
I choose to work with Provenance Construction Services based upon their competitive bid, outstanding
references, and most importantly, their clear, friendly, and reliable
communication skills.
The project stayed on
schedule and we were given ample "thinking time" when major decisions
needed to be made. All of the subcontractors were
excellent craftsmen and courteous professionals.
In addition, Mr.Goodman was a
pleasure to work with. He was always available to answer questions.
I received several estimates and the final decision included two other companies. Mr.Goodman came highly
recommended and I chose his company. I've never regretted my  decision.
From the beginning to the end of this project, Mr.Goodman and his employees were
wonderful to work with. They enjoy their work and it shows.
I had a great experience with Provenance Construction Services and would highly recommend them to potential customers.

We had a house fire that completely destroyed our home last year 3/2013. Gordon was one of several contractors that submitted proposals to rebuild our home. His proposal was not the lowest but he made us fell very corfortable as he was very knowledgealbe with the insurance and construction process of our home. He began work late June 2013 and finished at the end of October as he promised. We were able to move back in before Thanksgiving which was our biggest concerned because we were hosting a Thankgiving dinner that we had planned at the previous Thanksgiving Holiday gathering. Mr. Goodman is very professional and trustworthy. We highly recommend his company.

Mr. Goodman worked tirelessly to accomplish the renovation on our home in an astounding thirteen week period. His efforts included demolition, framing, Sheetrock, crown molding, paint and and hardwood flooring. We could not be happier with the tremendous workmanship and detail that Mr. Goodman and his crew put into our home. Mr. Goodman's suggestions and improvements on our original design are greatly appreciated. It is without reservation that I would highly recommend Provenance Construction Services to anyone interested in home

I was referred to Gordon Goodman of Provenance Construction to complete my basement renovation. Mr. Goodman is an excellent communicator; he met with me multiple times and provided a comprehensive overview of the basement renovation process from start to finish. The work was completed in a timely manner within cost, time, and budget with the utmost professionalism. Mr Goodman exceeded my expectations throughout the renovation process as he looks at his projects from various perspectives: timeline, safety issues, potential concerns, and cost-effectiveness. His follow through is impeccable and quality of work was superior. As a consumer whose main concern was cost and reliability I am pleased to recommend Provenance Construction to other prospective clients; and look forward to the opportunity to do business with them in the future.

I found Provenance on Angie's List and was encouraged by the 'A' rating. I was a little concerned because the project that I wanted completed was out of the price range where Provenance normally performed. But, I took a chance .. wanting to support a small business. I canvassed about 7 or 8 vendors, 4 from Angie's list. Provenance was the second highest, but within reason. The project was initially an $80k deal, but my financing fell through at the last minute and so we reduced the scope and signed a contract somewhere around early to mid Sept/2011. Gordon guestimated 8 weeks to two months to complete the project. I told him that time was EXTREMELY important because I was leaving the country in early November for an extended stay. In fact, I stated that if he were not certain that he could complete it, that I had other work on the house that I was moving from ... that I would prefer for him to do first and upon it's completion, he could begin the work on the house to which I was moving. He assured me that he would have it done by the 1st of November. I paid him according to his schedule, once more than scheduled and once again, earlier than scheduled per his verbal request. The last week of October, he stated he could have the work completed by November 8th and asked me for $12K +/- I gave him what he requested minus $500 and he stated that he would 'throw every man-hour available' at the project and even have his team work on weekends to finish on time. I also, reduced the scope by taking out $4,000 worth of sheetrock work and elected to have that done on my own. Gordon, basically stopped working after receiving the $12,000. I left the country at the beginning of November and returned in January. Almost nothing had been completed. I claimed he breached the contract and he claimed I breached by taking away the sheetrock work. We amended the contract on January 9th, giving him two weeks to complete the project in exchange for $2,300 which I paid immediately, $1,400 worth of materials for which I would be responsible and upon successful completion of the 'Time is of the Essence' contract ... an additional $3,500. I paid WELL OVER $1,400 in materials and he failed to complete the project by the 23rd. Built into the contract were a few days to get a Certificate of Occupancy from the city of ATL, based solely upon their potential scheduling constraints. Gordon sporadically worked up until the end of that time frame, the 27th of January and still had not completed NEARLY as much as was agreed upon in the contract. The work that he did complete was woefully subpar in many areas, adequate in others and rarely good. I had to fire him, after giving him A WHOLE LOT OF OPPORTUNITY to make things right. However, on the final day (27Jan2012) when he had to be complete and he called to get an inspection ... it appeared to me that he was trying to deceive the inspector by not informing him that he had torn down a balcony which was reached via a loft bedroom door that opened up onto a shingled roof without any barrier. He had not replaced it and I wholeheartedly believe he was attempting to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy without re-installing the balcony altogether. I had to fire him and I sincerely did not want a negative relationship. But, Provenance and Gordon Goodman specifically provided one of the WORST experiences I have ever endured.

I DO NOT TRUST HIM

I am in the process of mitigating my damages and have had to spend already, approximately $15k additional dollars to undo, redo and complete the items that he either performed poorly or failed to perform. I have sent him a demand letter and am about to begin litigation. He has yet to respond.
