Navid came out at an appointed time for a consultation. The original design was over our budget. Navid adjusted the design to fit our budget. He originally told us that he would start in approximately 3 weeks - it was 2 weeks.He came with a large crew - 8 workers. The workers never stopped. There were some additional items - fence repair & some tree removal that were added at a very reasonable cost. Navid was constantly asking if I was satisfied at all stages of the installation. When it was finished, his workers cleaned up & Navid made sure that I was pleased with the results.

Navid called me to confirm our appointment and was prompt for the consultation. He gave me various options and came up with a plan that fit my budget and also was a great solution for my front yard layout. I found Navid and his crew to be both prompt and totally professional. Navid was present at the start of the work and came back frequently during the day to check on progress. When he was on other job sites he kept in contact via phone to to make sure all was going the way I wanted it. When the job was done, he asked me if I was satisfied and if there was anything else I wanted the crew to do to complete the job. This was just a smallish one-day job, but Outdoor Makeover also did a lot of extras that were over and above the contract and my yard really looks transformed.

I was extremely surprised to see the last two reviews since my experience with Outdoor Makeover was so very different!! My experience could not have been more positive on any level. I found Navid and his crew to be both prompt and totally professional; they worked very hard throughout the day until it was so dark it became too difficult to see. Navid made it a point to call me at different times during the life of the job to tell me when they would be here and what they were going to do that day - updates that were very much appreciated as communication has been an issue with other contractors in the past. The rear half of my back yard looked like the Amazon jungle, crowded with vines, ivy, volunteer everything and weeds of every description - even my dogs wouldn?t go back in the tangle. I love to garden but this was way too much for me. Navid came up with an excellent plan to transform the space into a wonderful natural area that will be easy to care for and provide year-round interest and color. He also took the time to walk around my yard with me and made several great suggestions for me to implement myself! Outdoor Makeover did a lot of extras that were over and above the contract, too. If it needing doing they simply did it! I will definitely be calling them again.

I sent an email asking for them to contact me concerning an estimate for having our back yard sodded. I did not get a response for a couple of days, so I called. I spoke to the owner. He asked me what we wanted to have done. I told him that we have fescue in our backyard and wanted to have sod put down instead. He told me that he would charge me a fee to come out to the house to give us an estimate. He asked me to measure the yard myself and call him back if I wanted a rough estimate over the phone. I told him that would be difficult since we have a natural area in the middle of our yard. I told him that our house is on a third of an acre and he said roughly around $2500. He then said that they don't really do much work in our area (we are within 10 miles of Marietta where they are located). Bottom line....the job really wasn't big enough for him to be interested in doing it. I did get a call back from a woman asking if they had answered all of my questions. Before we ended the call, the owner seemed a little concerned knowing that I got their name off Angie's list and started back paddling a bit saying that they could make an exception and come to our area if we really wanted them to. No thanks! Don't do us any favors. In response to the provider's response... You are right that it is my opinion based on what my experience was which is why it is good to have many reviews for each vendor. Customers can then make informed decisions. I felt like a rating of "C" which is "fair" was accurate based on my experience. I didn't think "B" which is "good" was accurate because it was not a good experience. Update 1/23/13: I received an email from the company when they saw my feedback on Angie's list last October. They offered to provide and plant one of three trees at no charge to make up for the previous interaction where I rated them a C overall. I did not see that email in October, and they sent another one with the same offer last week after I submitted an update on Angie's List. We agreed to let them come out and plant a Japanese Maple in our yard at no charge. They were great with their communication as far as setting up the appointment and arriving when they said they would. Navid came out and planted the tree in our backyard at no charge. He did try to gain some extra some extra business by pointing out some areas that could use some improvement, but I can't fault him for that. We were very pleased with the level of customer service that we were given and Navid was very nice and very professional when he came out. I would like to thank them for going the extra mile to make things right.

After two missed appointments (both during the day, both of which I had to take off work for, the second he never even called to say he would not be there for), I arranged to work from home for a day and have Navid come out and do the "2 hour Interactive landscape design assessment with an on-site, hand drawn conceptual plan." He did show up 2 hours after he told me he would be there that day. He was knowledgeable about plants and took my suggestions well and was there 3 hrs (although he did take phone calls and did not use his time effectively). I was not happy that my "conceptual plan" was written on the back of a Home Depot receipt, that he did not give me a stepwise plan like I had asked, that he had not read the questionnaire I had sent to him in advance and that the final pricing was more than twice the $5,000 I had said I was willing to spend (which I thought was a decent sum of money to get started on a plan - I did not expect that money to give me all the extras we discussed like a waterfall and a pergola). The final reason I decided not to sign a contract is that even with the inflated plan and budget he did not include one of the important features I had mentioned several times, a plant sound barrier along the back of the property for the busy road. All of this together, I did not feel comfortable continuing to work with the company. I felt the consultation should have been more professional, for example, instead of showing me plants he likes to use online, he could have a portfolio of them (which would have shortened the consultation considerably), he should have been on time and prepared with paper and having read the questionnaire I provided. I am disappointed after reading the other reviews here.

Navid was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was prompt, professional and always fair. He has an amazing crew of workers and stone masons who are the best in the business. They worked tirelessly to complete our job, treated our property as is it was their own, and did a very nice job of cleaning up before they left. Our yard was in desperate need of help. We had a general idea of what we'd like to accomplish in our makeover, but it was Navid's vision and deep knowledge of plants and design that turned our yard into a complete oasis, beyond our expectations. Navid recommended the perfect mix of sod, shrubs and flowers for our conditions, which includes a great deal of shade. They built a waterfall in our backyard that looks and sounds so natural, it rivals any we have found in the wild. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the waterfall from our beautiful new stone patio. Outdoor Makeover has exceeded our expectations and has transformed our backyard into our newest getaway. Our yard experience started last year with a contractor that left our backyard a mess (we didn't find him on Angie's List). We ended up with walkways made out of 2 different types of materials, both pea stone and blue slate chips used as ground cover and barren dirt everywhere. It was so ugly I was embarrassed whenever anybody came to visit. After much research I contacted Outdoor Makeover. From start to finish, Navid and his crew were exceptional and we would highly recommend their services to anyone. From our first meeting with Navid I enjoyed the experience. He paid close attention to detail and made several suggestions which we implemented that made the yard look even better then our original vision. He spent considerable time going over various types of plants he recommended and I was very impressed with his knowledge. It didn't surprise me to find out that he has a Biology degree from Emory. Navid and his crew arrived on the scheduled day and worked every day, all day until the job was finished. They were professional, highly competent, extremely tidy and very friendly. The results are spectacular. We have a beautiful stone terraced wall with plants, and a shade garden with large boulders and slate stone path that a Zen Master would be proud of. Best of all, Navid came up with a beautiful solution to the water that puddled at the bottom of the deck steps. I feel happiness every time I walk out my back door and that's very important. You have to live with your house and yard every day; it's much better when you enjoy it! We highly recommend Navid and his crew and will definitely use them again this spring as we start Phase II.

Really well--his office was wonderful and knew us when we called to arrange for the tree, nice personal touch, and he worked hard to get us the color tree we wanted (it was hard to find) and was professional--he had some great ideas on some things for our yard too. Thank you!

Highly recommend this outfit, Outdoor Makeover. They started early and stayed late and never stopped working until the job was finished. This was a big job. First, the the weeds and baby pine trees were threatening to smother the entire yard. It was pathetic. Second, I had a big erosion problem b/c the yard is sloping. Grass grew in some places and not in others. I truly needed a complete makeover and that's what I got. By the time they were done, my yard looked like it should be in a magazine! Truly amazing work! Great job, guys!

My dealings with Outdoor Makeover began with a single tree on-line purchase -- but developed into an entire backyard makeover! Navid, one of the two business owners, was my primary contact throughout the entire process. Upon delivery of the purchased tree, a casual conversation with Navid ensued regarding the state of my ?courtyard style? back yard. While there were already many aspects I really liked, I had become frustrated with the small ?not-so grassy? lawn section that was truly an eye-sore. A combination of scorching sun and poor drainage made the area unsuitable for grass. For years I had wanted to expand the flagstone patio over the entire area ? but found that option to be cost prohibitive. With that, Navid began designing a custom oasis for me based on two major priorities -- within my budget and low maintenance. Navid has an unusual way of approaching his work as he didn?t come to the table with a preconceived notion about how he wanted to transform my yard. Instead, he actually listened to my feedback and collaborated with me. Navid is an exceptional communicator and most importantly, an attentive listener. He has a unique, intrinsic ability to interpret the client's priorities and create functional and beautiful outdoor settings. They offered examples for my consideration ? such as actual material samples, photographs and an excellent web site, etc. I now have a lovely fountain, stunning perennial landscaping, exotic trees, hardscaping, mulch, and pristine pressure-washed flagstone. Outdoor Makeover also contracted an irrigation professional to fix my broken irrigation system for a truly low-maintenance yard. They guarantee their work and came through on every promise. My job was finished precisely within the outlined budget ? both in terms of time and money. Everything went exactly as planned and the workmanship turned out to be exactly as sold. No surprises. No excuses. Not only is my outdoor living space magnificently transformed, but it blends seamlessly with the adjacent pre-existing yard. Customer service was also outstanding ? phone calls were returned promptly and careful attention was given to clean-up and the finishing details. Throughout the project, I had a sense that my job was a high priority. I have high praise for Outdoor Makeover and I recommend them without reservation. Navid and his crew are unparalleled in providing quality work with red-carpet service!

Navid and Natalie were great to work with. Very nice people. The workers were very hard workers. They did a nice job and cleaned up before leaving. Navid was always available by phone or by being on-site throughout the project. I will be using them again soon when I redo my back yard.

Navid was a hit with the neighborhood. My house and my neighbors on both sides had severe erosion issues on our side yards, between the houses. The houses are close together and have very steep grades. We received quotes from 3 landscaping companies and only Outdoor Makeover presented the solution that all 3 neighbors agreed would work. Once the work started, 4 more houses requested Navid to do work for them, including an arbor, a retaining wall, planting beds, sprinkler changes, and rock beds. Overall, the success of a company is the repeat business it gets, I will Navid back next year to do more.

Excellent. They came over the same day I called for an estimate. They came on time which was very important to me. They worked until night and finished ahead of schedule. They constantly made good suggestions and how much it would cost so I could make an educated decision. I have pets so often they had to stop and let the animals us the outdoors. They were extremely courteous and hands on. Good experience. overall.

I purchased the big deal because my yard had begun to look like an explosion of ivy and wild growth, and I wanted the ivy cut back. It was a real mess. Navid came out with a crew of four men and the men went to work immediately while Navid and I walked around the yard. Navid pointed out trouble spots and made some wonderful suggestions for my "Outdoor Makeover." We drew up a contract on the spot, and the plan began to materialize. The guys worked tirelessly in very hot weather, with a ton of mosquitoes, for several days. Natalie was also great. She brought them lunch and came out several times to encourage them, she was also talented at landscaping, she offered quite a few suggestions that were great. The crew of four, besides Navid and Natalie, were very nice, polite, and professional. They worked very hard and long, and still tossed some soccer balls with the kids on the block. Navid is a natural at landscaping, he knew what plants to put where, and pulled up photos of plants and stepping stones, and other ideas, on his laptop, and he ordered the ones we agreed to on the spot. After working all day cleaning up the yard, Natalie brought a pickup with a trailer full of stones, mature trees, shrubs, plants, and rocks and stones and the guys worked in the rain unloading everything in the backyard. Over the next three days the transformation occurred, not one problem occurred that I was aware of. Navid brought me extra plants and stones that were not part of our contract, but that he felt would make everything look even better. They hauled away all of the stumps, leaves, and undergrowth and left everything looking brand new! I am so happy that I have a lovely yard, and will enjoy it for years to come.

Had Navid come out to provide an estimate on Irrigation, Sod and Landscaping. We already had two estimates and Outdoor Makeover provided the most bang for the buck. Navid's suggestions for Sod (Empire Zoysia) and unusual plantings made our yard unique. and easily maintained. We are especially happy with the sod and decorative trees he selected to enhance our property. All the plantings and sod are growing strong and the irrigation system is operating well. His crew arrived when they were scheduled and worked till we were satisfied. My wife and I were impressed with Navid's willingness to make things right. A week after he was complete we noticed a couple of things that we weren't quite satisfied with. Navid came out to go over our concerns and promptly scheduled his crew back to make the agreed changes.Navid and Natalie called or stopped by every day and even made a couple of follow-up calls after the work was complete. We would recommend them to anyone and we intend to use them again next spring.

Outstanding. Our islands went from eyesore to showcase. Navid was great to work with, has excellent design ideas and execution exceeded expectations. Highly recommended!

I have only obtained an estimate and consultation

Last year, OM installed sod and several islands in our front yard, and we were very proud for about 2 months. Then everything died, and we were quite disappointed. Both of the OM guys contacted me over several months, and they expressed a sincere desire to make us happy customers. We have agreed to resolve the issue mutually, and will be getting new sod in the fall. We will update our AL record when that occurs. As one man said, it's not the happy customers you want to talk to, it's the ones who had problems. Those who know how to resolve customer problems are the good guys you want to do business with.

Navid is personable and sensitive to the needs of his customers. In fact, the day he came out to give an estimate, I got locked out of the house d/t a faulty lock. He stayed with me until a locksmith came, and helped organize my garage while we waited! The worked was started and completed as promised. He patiently rearranged the design of the large bed and added plants to meet my satisfaction.

Very nice . Good presentation

We are not good with yard work and our yard clearly showed it. It was overgrown and unsightly. We had also begun to develop small sinkholes in the lawn. At first, I simply sought to have the ivy cut back and the holes filled in; Navid came to give an estimate. He looked closely at the yard, and offered suggestions to improve the overall look and fix some ongoing problems. He assured me that this company would clean up the whole mess and make the yard look great. He was absolutely right. They showed up when they said that they would, did excellent work, and cleaned up afterwards. We encountered some changes along the way (such as realizing after the mess was cleared away that one of the holes was far larger than we had realized), and the price went up slightly higher than the estimate because of the need for additional materials. Despite the extra cost, I feel like we got a very fair deal. There was no upselling or any pressure to add services or products at all. There is a lot of lagniappe (a little something extra) from these guys. They did lots of extras, such as trimming the shrubbery, that we had not really discussed. Not only did they do a lot of work, but the quality of the work was superb. I've already recommended the company to several neighbors, who are also very happy about the transformation. Navid, Omid, and Natalie are a great team and have a wonderful warm, professional, manner. This company deserves every one of the glowing reviews on Angie's List. I will definitely call them again.

OVERALL THE RESULT IS VERY GOOD. THE YARD LOOKS NICE, CLEAN AND FRESH. THE PLANTS WHEN GROWN WILL ADD A NICE BACKGROUND. THE SUPPLIER OFFERED A GUARANTEE AGAINST DEAD PLANTS AND TO CALL THEM ANY TIME FOR REPLACEMENT. ONE, POINT ... THERE WERE A FEW DIFFERENCES IN APPROACH AND UNDERSTANDING BUT THESE WERE IRONED OVER. THEY WORKED HARD FOR THE GOOD PART OF A SATURDAY WHICH WAS MUCH APPRECIATED.

This project went very well! My yard was a disaster to start with, and I never thought it could look so much better so fast! Navid and his crew worked very hard to get all the mess cleared out - and with 90+ degree temperatures no less! I was very impressed with Navid's knowledge of plants and their blooming cycles, etc. - he made sure that the area in front of my retaining wall will have something in bloom most of the year. "Outdoor Makeover": very aptly named in my case! What an improvement! I'm planning to call them back next year for some back yard projects!
