Navid and crew do excellent work. My backyard was a mess and I had bad drainage problems. They fixed the drainage with some grading, a retention wall, and a dry creek bed. I also had them add a patio and some nice lighting. The work is great! His team is responsive and professional and were in-and-out quickly. Navid gave me numerous walkthroughs and project updates as the effort progressed.

I could not be any happier about my new backyard. I was upfront with Navid about my budget limitations and my must have list. This was a lot of money to spend but our yard needed major help. We needed all deck, fences, shed, retaining walls and concrete removed. They finished on time and on budget. And I ended up getting more for my money than we agreed upon initially. For example, the crew stayed late to solve a drainage problem on an existing part of the yard that wasn’t part of their scope. However they wanted their new drainage to work and weren’t satisfied to leave something in place that was broken. I was most impressed by how quick and competent the Outdoor Makeover team was. They completed my job in four days. They had the giant dumpster removed off my property within 4 hours of it being delivered and filled. They cleaned up and left no trace expect a huge gorgeous new backyard. It feels like we moved. I can’t wait to have the Outdoor Makeover team back to our house to build a patio and fire pit. The quotes from my kids were priceless “Mom, this is a 5-star backyard” and “Mom, it looks like the yards I see in commercials.”

It went great. The removal of the old, dying trees went smoothly and quickly. There was a gap of time to the next phase but once they started it went exactly as discussed and the outcome was marvelous. I have received many compliments from neighbors on the final look.

I researched websites, looked on Nextdoor, and spoke to numerous landscape companies, but felt immediately comfortable with Navid after our initial meeting. He listened to our landscape goals and budget and then went to work on his design. Navid’s creative design and talented vision are quite impressive. From that initial design to spreading of the final mulch and walk through, Navid was completely held accountable for the work and made sure his crew executed his vision from paper to land. From when the well-staffed team came the first day until completion, I felt the process was interactive and Navid made adjustments to the plan based upon our input. To my surprise, he had his team demolish an extra overgrown patch of ivy that was not part of the plan to make the look complete. During the makeover, I also worked with Tyson. He was superb at listening to my concerns, being responsive, and making sure quality was top-notch. There was an unexpected drainage and mulch issue that I brought to their attention. Navid did not stop until he knew I was 100% satisfied with the outcome. Even when the project was completed, I requested more sod not in the original plans, but Navid brought the team back out to finish. Overall, I was very impressed with the Outdoor Makeover team as a whole. I think Navid’s creative genius speaks for itself, but his team is responsive, accountable, and have remarkable attention to detail. I would completely hire them again in the future!

We are in a new house and desperately needed a backyard makeover from the boring boxy yard the builder left us with. We turned to Outdoor Makeover judging them by their outstanding reviews and our experience is no different. We worked with Navid as our main designer and from the initial session to the final product, it was a pleasure working with him and his team. He had great design ideas, and most importantly we felt heard, he paid attention particularly to how we would use the space and brought creative ideas to the table that we weren't even thinking of that will now make the space much more usable for us. Some examples would be adding a stone seating wall instead of railings all around our deck, a ledge on the only railing we have so we have more room for guests to put their food and cocktails on as we entertain. What was most important at the end of the day is the attention to detail and quality of the work done. For eg. we are certain the way the deck was built it would last us several years longer than the front porch done by our builder, Navid personally walked around the property and made sure his team didn't miss a speck when it came to mulching around the yard. There were changes we suggested along the way and the team was more than accommodating to incorporate to ensure we were happy. I would certainly hire them again to do any outdoor projects I may have in the future.

Navid Derakhashan and his family business Outdoor Makeover Construction did a superb job on our extensive landscaping, gathering the highest praises from the dozens of people who saw it. “It’s like a paradise!” was a common compliment. We took a different approach, perhaps, than most people who search for the best deal on landscaping. Our approach was to vet the landscape designer, and not the proposal. We found Navid and his crews to be very easy to work with. He’s a great listener, patient, kind, and not at all pushy. Though the design phase was comfortable, and even fun, it wasn’t until the crew completed their work that we really got to see the real WOW! We watch our money closely, and even though this project was pricey because of its size, we got more than our money’s worth, and more than we expected. His uniformed, polite, hard-working, and conscientious crews have not been bested by any of the contractors we have hired before or since. They often went the extra mile to make sure things were right. Though it’s been almost a year since they have completed the work, our appreciation for their work has not subsided. Like a great work of art, there’s always something new to admire about the remarkable creativity, craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into this project. Landscape lighting, stonework, and shrubbery may not sound exciting, but in the hands of an artistic team, they become magical.

Navid and his crew of Outdoor Makeover and Construction went above and beyond at every turn to insure my 100% satisfaction. From design through implementation Outdoor Makeover and Construction was attentive, courteous and on time. Navid personally was onsite everyday overseeing the operation and his expertise was evident all along the way.

Our project was to update our tired 30 year-old screened shed porch, along with the original cracked and stained concrete patio. Navid and Omid , our Makeover Brothers, initially spent several hours with us presenting various options for both porch and patio. We decided on a remodel of the existing porch, removing screens and one side, and replacing the old ceiling and inside siding with natural wood decking. The open porch, patio, and sidewalk were then covered with a beautiful design of brick pavers. Proper drainage was installed and affected shrubs were neatly pruned back to accommodate underground pipes. Crunch rock was added to an adjoining walkway. They even hauled away a rusting basketball hoop at no charge! The result is an open, breezy, and attractive addition to our home. Once the project began, the work was fast and efficient and our questions were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. Job well done!

We had a great experience! The initial meeting was great, we had some ideas and Navid was able to tell us what would work and what wouldn't within our budget, We agreed a plan and a price we were happy with. There was a delay in starting the project due to the weather but once they started there was a crew of 5 people here every day and they worked really hard to get it all completed in 3 days. Navid came by everyday to check everything was going the way we wanted and was very responsive to our concerns and ideas. We couldn't be happier with the end result.

We could not be more pleased - the yard looks fantastic, very unique & exactly what we wanted! Navid talked us through several ideas and was very patient when we asked for several last-minute changes. The crew executing the project was great - fast and very detailed. My husband and I learned about Navid and Outdoor Makeover & Construction after our neighbors had the company re-landscape their property. Our neighbors recommended them highly based on the quality of work they did for them. We originally met with Navid for a design consultation towards the end of January/beginning of February. He immediately addressed many of the extensive concerns we had regarding the grading and landscaping of our property. He designed an effective and aesthetically pleasing solution to the problems, while incorporating already existing elements from our property. To address our drainage needs, Navid incorporated multiple swells in the yard as well as a drainage system to direct water from the middle of the yard towards a protected tree space behind my property. We replaced the existing Bermuda grass with a heartier Zoysia grass which can stand up better to foot and dog traffic in the yard. Because of our schedules, we elected to wait until the beginning of the summer to have the work completed and Navid and his team were very understanding of our wishes to do this and worked to schedule this project when it was convenient for us. From the time of the initial consultation until the work was completed the company’s team worked with us to address changing needs and make sure that we were comfortable with the scope of work being performed. During the project we were met with an unexpected neighbor issue regarding our already approved design. Navid and his team were patient and completed other parts of the project while we came to resolution with our HOA. Once we had resolution, Outdoor Makeover & Construction worked very hard to re-configure designs in order to have the landscaping comply with ever-changing HOA guidelines. The team which was on hand for the work was very courteous, professional, and demonstrated excellent attention to detail. The team worked to reconfigure our existing irrigation system to ensure that all of the new sod and plants would receive appropriate water. The crew seemed to always be working, even doing extra complimentary jobs which were not in the contract and plan. In the end, the team did extra mulching, and tree trimming which would have taken us a lot of extra time and energy in the hot June sun. I felt like I had the ability to provide my input with the on-hand team throughout the entirety of the project and appreciated being heard as the work was being done. In total, from the time that materials begun being delivered until the project was complete was 3 and a half days. At the end of each day, the team cleaned up loose materials, debris, and any trash. At the conclusion of the project, the team worked very hard to restore my drive way to its original condition and status, pressure washing it and cleaning it thoroughly, making it appear as if they had never used it as a staging area for the literal tons of material used. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the performance of Outdoor Makeover & Construction. They are a highly skilled team of professionals and re-created an amazing backyard space which our builder should have originally done. They took what had become an unusable backyard space (because of drainage, grading, and foot/dog traffic), and created a great outdoor space we look forward to using for years to come. We would happily recommend this company to all of our friends and colleagues and will definitely use them in the future.

From the first call to the last we were very impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail, creativeness and personalized touches that were put into our makeover. We went into this project not knowing what to expect and were blow away with the final result. They stand by their product and would highly recommend!

Navid and his team were extremely professional and courteous, from the first consult through to completion of the project. Navid handled all communications with his team and sub-contractors which made life very easy for us as homeowners. Somehow he is able to balance several projects at once but still make you feel like his only client. Our project was a relatively major backyard remodel. We took an over-grown area at the back of our property and turned it into a paradise, with new grass and plantings, a dry creek bed, and some fun playground equipment for our young son. Navid and his crew were very proficient and skilled and we are ecstatic with the end result. We will likely be re-doing our front yard in the next couple of years and Navid will be our first call.

Everything went exactly as promised. Everything was pruned, in the correct manner, and they beds were given a good layer of new pinestraw. It was perfect.

We chose Outdoor Makeover and Construction to demolish an outdated and deteriorating outdoor kitchen in our backyard and rebuild a stacked stone one in its place. Navid, one of the two brothers that own the business, was instrumental during our design meeting in tweaking the design that we had created and consulted along the way for materials and vendors. His emphasis on quality and craftsmanship was consistent from start to finish, while being mindful of being conservative with resources whenever possible (i.e. how to recycle some existing pavers) which aided us in creating a coherent design and made the project more cost effective with a better use of space. The execution of the project was timely and the hard working crew was courteous and open to small design changes along the way. It was quite impressive to see them carve each stone by hand so that it fit against the next. The finished product is beautiful, well-constructed and complements our backyard oasis. We look forward to welcoming our friends and family over cookouts this Spring, Summer and Fall. Description of Work Demolished existing kitchen and carry away materials. Hand cut stacked stone outdoor kitchen featuring a bluestone countertop, a cutout and platform for a kamado cooker and a stainless steel cabinet for storage. In addition, this involved moving and resetting existing paver stones, resetting a border of small boulders, and pouring crushed slate in the expanded cooking/standing area.

After living in my home for 20 years, my yard was in desperate need of a redo. I had been wanting to freshen the landscape, replace the lawn, and add a patio in the back for a while, but the whole idea was so daunting I kept putting it off. And there was the added difficulty of accessing my backyard and grading issues. Extensive work that my dad, a retired contractor, had noted and was uncomfortable with himself, even though he agreed it all needed to be addressed. After talking with several other parties, I came across Navid from Outdoor Makeover. He was confident that all the issues I was concerned about would be no problem. AND he was absolutely right. In six consecutive days, he and his crew transformed my whole yard with a patio, grading, stump grinding, improved drainage, landscape plantings, improved my existing sprinkler system, and added a side parking space. Navid came to the site every day. He and his men were diligent and always positive, willing to address any concerns I had. He was a good listener, very patient with my slow decision making, addressing every concern, was never in a rush when it came to my needs and was always in constant contact. Navid offered to talk with anyone else I wanted involved and even walked my neighbor around to show him what was happening. He and his crew moved furniture around, adjusted plantings, and made suggestions that would make my life easier. After the job was complete,( and balance paid), you’d expect a clean up, which they did. But what I didn’t expect was the extra mile they went in pressure washing the drive, an existing swing, an existing concrete bench and placing furniture. Navid followed up the next day to make sure I was happy to which I responded with some adjustment requests, that were immediately done that same day, with a second followup to make sure that those were addressed correctly. One of my neighbors expressed how much he had enjoyed watching the process. Another, asked Navid about some water feature issues. I feel very fortunate to have found such a professional and conscientious company. Should the need arise in the future, I will definitely contact Navid and Outdoor again, and I think my neighbors will too!

It started with a laundry list of some outdoor items we wanted to take care of: 1. Fix chain link fence in back yard (damaged by falling tree/limb) 2. Mulch & Pine straw for front and back yards 3. Assess big hard wood trees on property – any that pose a potential threat of uprooting/falling? I actually googled “pine straw” and Outdoor Makeover popped up and I could see 5 Star ratings. That certainly piqued my interest. After reading several of the reviews (even the ones that said they are not cheap – but the quality and service are outstanding) – I decided to reach out via the website to inquire about my ‘to do’ list. I was impressed with how responsive the team was and how quickly I was able to schedule an appointment for Navid to come and meet with us. Navid does things the old fashion way, RIGHT! At the end of the day… the prep/foundation work makes for long term customer satisfaction and he understands this as a solid business man. He strongly encouraged us to address our drainage issue which I never told him about… he just knew by the topography of our yard. Dollars well invested. Navid transformed our backyard from an eye sore into an area of relaxation: wonderful landscaping, patio, stone fire pit and stone seating wall. Navid understands the importance of completing a project on time. As such, he had an entire crew at our house, with no interruption until completion. Our project called for work on adjacent properties. Said properties were reconditioned well beyond their initial status… happy neighbors. Navid is a great communicator: he is prompt at returning phone calls and proactively communicates his plan for the following days’ work. Did I mention that he listens too!. After installation the follow up was terrific. Replaced warranted plants within a week. We have since engaged Navid to add landscape lighting to the front of our house which is nothing short of magnificent! We plan to have his team work on phase two or our landscape project. When my wife and I discovered Outdoor Makeover and Construction we were at our wits end with contractors and landscape companies. Between missed appointments, phone calls not being returned, and work being incomplete we thought our project(s) would never be completed. Thankfully we discovered Navid and his team and that all changed. From the initial meeting with Matthew, to a more detailed follow-up consultation with Navid, the company listened to our desires, concerns, and even filled in gaps where we were unsure of what we wanted to accomplish. The team redid a front stoop, built a retaining wall, installed backyard access, and improved drainage in our yard all at a very reasonable and competitive price. The results exceeded our expectations. All of the crew members were respectful of our property, the worksite was clean at the end of each day, and communication of progress remained constant. The crew even provided extra services at no additional cost, which was completely unexpected. Our satisfaction was such that we have had additional consultations and will be having the company come back to complete additional work to our home. If you live in Atlanta and aren't using Outdoor Makeover and Construction then you are simply doing it wrong. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about Navid and his team! My yard is beautiful (or it will be in the spring) and he, and they, more than exceeded my expectations! Navid was patient, knowledgeable, flexible, and funny (although not as funny as he thinks he is.) I interviewed four or five companies after hitting a roadblock with my original landscape designer, and while I ended up spending decidedly more than I originally intended, he made me feel good about the decision. The work was done right and thoughtfully and I am super excited to see how it all grows in!
