Outdoor Makeover & Living Spaces

I found Outdoor Makeover on Angie's list and made an appointment with them as they were the highest rated firm in the Atlanta area. They immediately contacted me and set up an appointment. Navid, the owner, was on time and spent about 3 hours with me. We toured the property and discussed what exactly was important for me. Navid is very patient and there is no rush or attempts to up-sell. While I was planning on focusing on the front yard, as we talked it became clear to me that the back yard makeover with a patio and fire pit would provide the best use for me and my teenage children. Navid took time and sketched out a remodel plan for the back yard. The plan was drawn to scale. The plan was broken into line items with costs per item. Navid answered all my questions about unit costs and labor, provided advice as what would be most efficient to include now rather than add later, and gave me a time line for the project. By the end of or meeting, I felt comfortable that I did not need to meet with other contractors or compare bids. We signed a Work Authorization and put my project on the schedule. Prior to starting in late July, Navid and his dad (an accomplished contractor and the nicest guy you'll ever meet) met with me to go over the specifics of the project to make sure we were all on the same page. Then, the transformation began and over a period of about 7 days, my back yard was transformed from an overgrown forest to a show place. All along the way, Navid was at the job site daily, was in daily contact with me by text and phone, and continually checking in with me to make sure I was pleased with the project. Navid's crew was excellent. His foreman Joe was on top of things and kept the 10 man crew moving efficiently. The masons who did the stone work on the seat wall, fire pit, boulder retaining wall and stone stairway were true artisans. Navid's dad and his construction crew built a cedar arbor that is truly beautiful and expertly integrated a new wooden stairway connecting the existind wooden deck to the stone stairway. His dad also installed a ceiling fan in my son's room gratis. Along the way, we ran into some un-anticpated tweaks to the project that were not included in the original bid. Navid included many of them free of charge and others we discussed and agreed on price before proceeding. At the end of the project, I had the complete transformation of my back yard that I envisioned, but even better. When you're investing in your home and lifestyle, you want a quality product that delivers beauty and enjoyment at a competitive price. There may be other contractors that provide lower bids or make grander promises, but do they deliver? Overdoor Makeover simply does deliver...a professional project with a beautiful result. We had an Angie's List deal for the Interactive Landscape Consultation & Design. Outdoor Makeover came out, walked through our yard, discussed a few ideas with us, and presented us with some paving options for a patio. The person who came out did a rough sketch of one idea right then and there, and that was it. The service seemed fine, but we were expecting a more comprehensive plan.

It was a bit pricey. I don't think I'd use them because it was more elaborate than I needed done.

Work was good. They made a big effort to make sure that we were satisfied.

He seemed like he was in a rush -- and didn't stay the full 3 hrs once he knew we were not going to hire him to do the actual landscaping . We just wanted a plan, which was what we purchased.

Navid came to our house and spent over an hour going through the entire property. He gave us ideas and worked within our budget to achieve a true landscaping gem. He explained issues with other properties in the neighborhood and house we can avoid the same challenges (i.e. drainage), gave us an education on plants and flowers, came up with an immaculate drawing which was immediately approved by our HOA (seldom does this happen). Navid was extremely fair with his pricing and gives a detailed breakdown for everything he will do. He was extremely prompt and courteous on all phone and email interactions. He came within two weeks of signing the contract. Navid kept is word when he said the job would take one day. His crew of 10 guys came at 7:30 AM on the button. They methodically planned out the entire day and each step of the job. For each phase of the job, Navid or his foreman, Joe (who is also incredibly nice and professional), walked my wife and I through what was being done. If at any time we had a question or concern, they addressed the issue immediately. When it came time to putting the entire landscape together, it came together perfectly - Navid's vision was above and beyond expectation. Navid was also very generous as there were a few things that we did not originally agree to, but because the job required the items, he did not charge for them - because he was committed to keep in line with the budget and also the superior quality he promised. The job took an entire day. The crew was onsite from 7:30 AM - 7:45 PM. The entire crew did an outstanding job and I can't thank Navid and his entire team at Outdoor Makeover for making what was a drab landscape into a comforting paradise.

Outdoor Makeover provided a competitve bid and executed the project with high integrity and quality. They followed up to be sure we were completely satisfied with the end result.

Navid, the owner, first visited and offered a solution for the erosion and lack of proper drainage in our back yard. The plan was quite impressive and we agreed. The crew, led by Joe, appeared the following week. Crew consisted of about 10 men and bobcat equipment. Joe supervised the project, of grading the uneven land, building 2 drainage paths (underground tubes covered with rocks and a slight indentation. They prepared the land with rich black organic soil and then placed the sod in position. I thought the work would last a number of days, but it was completed that day. Crew members returned the following day to clean the driveway and street, removing debris. Navid and Joe also gave instructions regarding the care of the sod. Two weeks have passed and the instructions were accurate as the sod has turned completely green.

I wanted to use Outdoor Makeover in 2010 when I had initially purchased the house upon reading the reviews on Angie's List. However the timing didn't work out with them and I ended up using a different landscaping company for the front yard. I was planning on selling the house in mid 2013 and when the time came to put the house on the market - I had to get the backyard spruced up for the sell - however I didn't want to spend too much money on it as we were selling it anyways. A quick call to Outdoor Makeover and enter Navid - the wonder man. He sat down and listened to what we wanted to do and helped come up with really cost effective options to get the backyard done and have the house ready for the sale. I had to travel the week the work was being done and Navid kept me up to date on what was happening in the backyard and sent me progress pictures. It only took them 4 hrs to finish the entire job and boy, what a transformation that was. I don't know if this was a co-incidence or the showmanship of his work but the house sold in 3DAYS after the work was complete! Now, that is absolutely great. They definitely went above and beyond their duty - to keep checking with me in those three days - actually, Navid came by the next day because he wanted to bring in some flagstones to give the back yard a little pep - I mean, really - who does that? They definitely care about their relationship with the customer and do their work to the utmost satisfaction of their clients. I recently moved into a new house and I'm definitely using them again to come give their special touch to my new backyard that I'm going to enjoy! I'd definitely recommend them highly - they are a great team at Outdoor Makeover!!

The gentleman who came out from Outdoor Makeover was knowledgeable of the basic landscape process and enthusiastic but it was a hand drawn diagram done on site. Overall I felt in terms of what he did for $89 was not worth it. I was really looking for something that was going to be a little more comprehensive. I think that process is good for somebody that doesn't have any understanding of landscaping or landscape design but for the average home owner it was too elementary. The gentleman followed up on the call and wanted to know if we wanted to move forward with anything.

After have several other companies look at the job we decided on Outdoor because of the attitude of the owner and his enthusiasm about what we wanted done. I will use them again and have recommended already to several of my friends and coworkers. The Outdoor Makeover crew showed up on time at noon on the 27th and cleared the existing yard of debris and overgrown landscaping. They quickly built a new retaining wall near the house to hold the yard to be built up. Within 8 hours they moved three truck loads of soil in front of the house t a new finished and graded yard in the back of the house. The crew were professional and polite, there was no slow down in the work they came in and knocked out the job quickly. The owner was very personable and asked if there were any plants we wanted to save or have moved. They moved 5 fully grown shrubs from foundation planting to the far end of the yard and several gardenias from the patio area to new locations for landscaping. When the owner asked if there was anything else that they could move for us I jokingly said we had some furniture that needed to go to the garage, and they moved it right then and there. Amazing service, I know of know one else that would have done some thing like that willingly and with a smile.

I called them first and then I filled out a form on their website and told them what I needed them to do. Never got a call or responses in any form.

I bought their Big Deal coupon; it was for two trips out. I had them out once and it was not exceptional. The pricing for what they accomplished is good but the person they sent lacked the creativity to do much. I have not decided yet whether I will have him back for a second visit or not.

I am not a landscaper, I just don't have the "eye" for it - but I can tell you that I know what I like and don't like when I see it. Navid was very good at sitting down with me, showing me each flower, plant, tree on his ipad, and then sketching out the layout so I could see what it would look like. My husband had designed the river rock bed while I was traveling, and when I came back - well let's just say that I really didn't like it. Navid and his team responded immediately to my concerns, and came back quickly to "fix" it for us. There was nothing wrong with the installation, it was really that I didn't like the way it looked - and he changed it for us without any fuss, or additional money added to the bill. He even sketched it out and walked out the layout for me before getting started. I also added a few features - like stepping stones and new plants while he was here. We also had a break in our sprinkler while all this was going on, and Navid and his team spent hours (even in the pouring rain) making sure it was fixed. The entire outdoor makeover team was very professional during all of our interactions with them. It is very apparent that customer satisfaction is really their main goal, and I felt like they really cared for our business - not just running a business. I would highly recommend this group and will use them again if the need comes up

Good, we are still saving money to complete the renovations

There was nothing wrong with the service they provided but they were expensive. They gave me some ideas. When I asked them how much it would cost me to do the work, they said it's going to be $50000. I said "That's outrageous." The design is okay but it's too expensive.

BEYOND EXPECTATIONS ! If you're looking for the quick summary... Navid and his crew were able to accomplish everything promised and then some... I would not hesitate to recommend or use again. For the longer version: My drainage issue were first and foremost.... I had 5 other contractors over and all they did was recommend ways to tier my side-yard and landscape; but failed to convince me that the "drainage" issue was to be resolved. Navid came over to my house around 7 pm and we discussed the drainage issue ONLY..... at first! After I was convinced that he had a logical and efficient way to deal with the drainage, we moved the discussion to the landscaping that incorporated the solution to the drainage problem. All in all, Navid spent 3 hours going over ideas/plans. He listened ! Hear me? He "listened" to what my wife and I liked/disliked and made adjustments along the way to building out a landscaping plan that made sense both visually and financially. Once agreed upon, they were able to come 2-days later and completed the job. There were the proverbial "unknowns" that Navid dealt with on-the-spot and it is not a stretch to say he went beyond my expectations in meeting my requests and goals.

I purchased my home last November because it had a backyard with great potential. Outdoor Makeover realized that potential beyond my dreams!The old outdoor space is now- thankfully-- unrecognizable--truly an Outdoor Makeover! The owner and designer, Navid, is by far the most customer-friendly contractor I have hired. He listened carefully to our requirements for the space and made expert suggestions which we loved. He was always responsive, followed up daily and was on site frequently. You can see that Navid's leadership pays off with this staff. The employees had great attitudes and were always considerate and respectful even with my 8 year old daughter hanging around, Asking questions like,"where will the lizards live now? " Originally we were going to complete stage 1 this year and stage 2 next year but once we saw the transformation take shape, we asked Navid to put the phase 2 patio stonework component back into the design plan because we couldn't wait another year! the work was done in less than a week and The results were absolutely spectacular!

Modern Makeover landscaped and created a path going from my front yard and through a gate to my backyard. After the work was completed, I began to get water in my garage which came from the landscaped side. I immediately contacted Navid, the owner and he had someone out to my property to correct the problem. It was corrected with much extra work for the crew and at no additional cost. What was impressive was there was an immediate response-- no dodging me since the job was done and paid for-- an apology and a promise to fix the problem to my satisfaction. The follow up after the fix was excellent. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Navid and outdoor makeover did a fabulous job! Navid was very patient when we met twice to discuss the plans and made changes for us when needed to fit in our budget without compromising the end product. He is very creative in his design plan of the project which is one of the main reasons we chose outdoor makeover over another company we were thinking about using. He was very responsive during the project as well as after it was completed when I called with questions. His crew worked diligently and were on time and cleaned up completely when the project was done. The project was completed in only two days! They did a fabulous job and we are thrilled with how the whole project turned out. We would definitely recommend Navid and Outdoor Makover to anyone looking to do an outdoor project like ours. His brother and father were involved as well so we got to meet the whole family.

He was OK. I think what I didn't like was that he was making notes and gave me ideas on kind of a scrap piece of paper and he kept calling me sweetheart or something like that, and it really turned me off. I just didn't care for his non-professionalism, so I didn't choose to use him.

We have a pretty sizable yard which, over the years, has gotten out of control. We had quotes from 2 landscapers. One we received a mail advert from and then Outdoor Makeover, who we found here on Angie's List. The owner, Navid, has a passion for creativity. He was able to envision a low-maintenance solution for us that was absolutely what we needed. From the moment he shared his vision, we knew that the inspiration he'd bring to the job would definitely benefit the end result. Between the signing of the contract and beginning of work, we inquired a few times about changes. Navid was incredibly flexible and even encouraged us to continue to share ideas with him. Navid is obviously used to dealing with unforeseen natural challenges in his landscaping projects. I noted that, rather than be frustrated, he treated these obstacles as opportunities to practice his creative problem solving. At the end of each of the 4 days this project ran, Navid asked me if I was pleased with the progress and whether I'd like to see any changes or had any concerns. From the first time he met us, he emphasized his passion for customer happiness. He proved that on several occasions, inviting open communication before and during the project. If I were to rate Outdoor Makeover on a scale of 1 - 10, I would readily give them a 12. The reason for my going off the scale? Simply stated, Navid and his crew exceeded our expectations in both their enthusiasm for our project and in our happiness with the final deliverable. Navid not only showed up as promised to discuss the project, but stayed hours going over concepts and options. He is passionate about landscaping and it shows in his work and continuous follow up. Navid and his crew did an exceptional job, they were professional and were always in contact with me making sure that the job was going to my satisfaction. He even cut down several of my old trees that I did not like after the job was completed and did not charge me. My yard looks great and I am so happy with the professionalism and attention to detail. I plan on using Outdoor Makeover for the next phase of my large yard. If you want a landscaping job, hire Navid and Outdoor Makeover!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The service was not great. They did some landscaping design and some of it I'm satisfied with and some of them I'm not. I would not recommend them. I just wasn't happy with what they did and I don't really want them to come back again. They weren't horrible, I wasn't totally dissatisfied but I wasn't thrilled either. I'm done with it and I'm done with the work.

It was okay. They're service was very fast, it was little bit pricey. The design was fine I guess, my wife and I get on our thing. The consultation was just a hand drawn map of the area.
