Navid and his crew did an amazing job. Our house was built four years ago. The grass was actual laid down the week of the Winter Storm in 2011! The builder never properly finished the drainage or extended the property to fully make use of the land. When I called Navid in (as I am a repeat customer), I told him exactly what I wanted. He told me what could and could not be done. He does not play games because he knows his business. Whatever he says he will give you, expect more because he gives you more! For example, my wife and I decided to go with a brick/stone based retaining wall. The wall was originally going to be 2.5ft tall. When the crew came in, it had to be a bit deeper and the soil and stones to fill the wall was substantially greater than expected. Did Navid charge me a penny more - no? He charged me exactly what he quoted me. Did the quality suffer - absolutely not. It turned out to be stunning. The grass is the greenest on the block. The curb appeal of the landscape and all the flowers and trees planted on the property make it look like a lush garden compared to a dinky backyard. Our deck, a three tier patio had concrete slab. Navid planned on putting pavers in. However, between the grass and existing concrete there was going to be a three inch gap. Navid worked with my wife and I to make dull look luxurious and rich - for practically nothing. Stonework was done in hours by his crew of experts. Navid gets the best quality materials and stands by his work. He did work for my wife and I in 2013. He even pedicured that existing work to make sure it was in tip top shape by pouring some new mulch down and re-purposing things to fit with our new landscape design. The project took four days. There were anywhere between three crew members and eight crew members here working. These guys are respectful, professional, talented, and hard-working. Navid is an artistic genius and his exemplary work speaks for itself and his companies reputation.

Navid is exceptional. He is patient and answered all questions. He is easy to work with. He also provided us with contacts to see Outdoor Makeover job completions.

We selected Outdoor Makeover to re-landscape our backyard and we were very, very pleased with their work. During the selection process, they were responsive, never missed an appointment, and met with us on our schedule. They were price competitive, eager to earn our business, and went over-board to ensure that they were meeting our design goals. The project included the removal of mature trees and the complete redesign of our yard. They were thoughtful in the design process, taking into account cost, aesthetics, growth rates, privacy, and the overall feel. They presented more alternatives than the other vendors that we investigated, and were more flexible in their approach. They worked around our complicated schedule for the implementation, starting the project exactly on-time and completing the project exactly as planned. They introduced each member of their installation crew before they started the work, and the team was professional, hardworking, and respectful of our home. Each day, they cleaned up the site and left it in presentable condition overnight. Throughout the installation process, Navid (owner) was involved to ensure everything was going smoothly. In the end, we got exactly what we asked for, and the experience was positive.

They were horrible. They were very unprofessional. They gave us a plan on a piece of notebook paper with scribbles on it which I could have done myself. They said they would mail a plan to us but they didn't. He gave me a refund. I would never use them or recommend them.

They were great. This guy came out who was really straight forward. The contractors are best and they are helping you and also helping themselves. They are very professional. The price was reasonable.

First of all, Navid came over and spent ~1.5 hours perfecting a design within my budget. He was very respectful of the price and did not try to get me to spend more, which I really appreciated. He even came back the next day because another idea occurred to him and he was excited to share it. It gives me great confidence to have services performed by someone so passionate about their work! The work pretty much stayed on time (weather). The backyard was regraded, because of some muddy and mossy areas. He also graded some other areas not originally in the plan for free, to help with drainage. In the shady area, there is shot rock, which makes a nice appearance along with a stone sitting wall around a fire pit. Again, for appearance sake, an extra area of the wall was added, complimentary. The underdeck ceiling looks beautiful, and along with the lights and fans, makes the area much more attractive and usable. As an aside, Navid noticed the poor driveway drainage that I had. It had been addressed several times but the problem kept recurring. I had been quoted a very high amount for a definitive fix, so I kept having the drain flushed. Navid and his crew replaced it in one day for less then half of the cost! Overall, excellent experience!

They do not replace retaining walls without it being part of a larger "total redesign." That philosophy seems to be pretty narrow-minded. Somehow this needs to be included in their write-up so that time is not wasted trying to find a contractor that won't do the work because it doesn't fit their agenda.

I purchased a new construction and moved in in April. As with new constructions, the backyards are just a slab of concrete and if you're lucky, living grass. Well, that's what I had, except for the living grass. I saw an ad for Outdoor Makeover in the May Angie's List booklet and thought, why not? They were an award winner for the past few years. I made an appointment for a consultation and even that exceeded my expectations. Naveed spend over 3 hours with me at this first consultation. We talked budget, layout, etc. and we threw some ideas out, thought of new ones, he listened to me and incorporated some of my ideas. It was great. Now, he told me he wouldn't be able to get to me for maybe a month, which was fine. However, he ended up being able to start early which was terrific. We met once more to go over the plan and again spend 3 hours revising and refining the plan. I really did get my consultation fee's worth. Overall, I believe the project was no more than 7 day but with many rain delays, it was spread out for a couple of weeks. The workers were great. Really liked their professionalism and dedication. I am one that really likes open lines of communication and Naveed was agreeable to that, he kept me in the loop every step of the way. We spoke nightly during the project. While my yard was a complete overhaul, some things still came up that weren't anticipated. Depending upon what the issue was, Naveed either threw in the solution for free (grading and soil for the area of the yard that would be sodded, down-spout extenders, extra mulch, and several other items) or worked with me on obtaining the most economical alternative. It was a pleasure to work with Naveed and his crew. They listened and when I said I wanted a pergola with an outdoor ceiling fan, or brown mulch instead of black, that's what I got. If there were some items that I asked for that just weren't doable, Naveed would explain to me why. He worked with me on acquiring items, like the pots for my water feature. It was great. I even gave him the go ahead to just design the fire-pit as he saw fit. I really do enjoy the finished product. It looks professional (the patterns used with the pavers is terrific), and just very well done. I've gotten lots of compliments. I've already spoken about additional work that I would like them to do next spring. I also had the pleasure of meeting the entire family. I highly recommend Naveed and crew for landscaping and lighting related jobs. They had the expert electrician, gas person and plumber to handle my entire job. For me this was a major renovation and I was very nervous as I was expending a great deal of money. But boy, was it worth it!

This summer I have been calling landscape contractors and was unhappy with the results and interactions. From not listening to what I wanted, including designs that I was unhappy with, or just missed appointments and unanswered calls, I can honestly state that there was absolutely NO inconvenience or aggravation with Outdoor Makeover. If you want to have someone absolutely earn your business, Navid does so in spades. He came to my house and walked the yard IN THE RAIN at 7:30pm, then we talked for almost 2hrs about what I was looking to get out of my yard, and had a rough price estimate-which was in line with every other estimate I received. He then came back to take accurate measurements and sat at my kitchen table and worked out a design with my wife and I-on a Sunday. We agreed to pricing and scope, one week later, he had a crew here that completed everything in 2days. His crew laid plywood on my lawn to protect everything, and left the front as they found it. During the installation, Navid was here almost the entire time, and worked with me on further improving the design without nickel & diming us. The end result was better than we had anticipated and firmly believe that we would not have had the yard that we have, and I know that it would not have been as smooth of a process either!

They were very good. They did what they said they would gonna do. They come on time and they have everything to work with. Their price seemed reasonable.

Before deciding on Outdoor Makeover, we did a lot of research and received quotes from two other companies. Once we decided to go with Outdoor Makeover, Navid came to meet with us more than once, even coming in the evening hours since my husband was working late that week. We hashed out all of the details, and they came to do the work four days ago. We could not be happier. The crew was great--very helpful, professional, and respectful. The landscaping looks fantastic, and we've already had neighbors ask us for Navid's contact info. In addition to the regular work, we realize that Navid went above and beyond for us. Our budget was tight, and we think (can't prove) that he actually spent more on the plants then we paid for. He included a small maple tree that was one of my personal "must have's" even though it wasn't listed on the actual contract, and he came back the day after everything was finished to adjust the sprinkler system the way we wanted it to be. In an era of diminishing (or, in many cases, non-existent) customer service, Outdoor Makeover provided the highest level of customer service I've seen from any company in years. My husband and I are more than satisfied with the product, the process and the professional interaction. We would (and already have) recommended Outdoor Makeover without hesitation to anyone.

Navid and Outdoor Makeover are super. He and his crew are professional, enthusiastic, flexible and easy to work with. Most importantly he brings a lot of ideas to the table and does a lot of little extra things that make the overall experience superb. For an example of problem solving, my sidewalk was caved in and cracked. Instead of just pouring new concrete Navid poured it high enough to the top of the first front step enabling soil to be built up around the house to allow proper sloping away from the house. It came out fantastic. An example of his flexibility is with the grading. The following day after the grading was complete I had reservations that it was enough. Even though the day before I said it was ok Navid came back with the Bobcat and took another 2 feet of soil away to where the grading met my highest expectations. He also took my input seriously. After I told him that deer often come to the front steps and are in the yard frequently he adjusted his plantings to make the design deer friendly so they just wouldn't come and wipe everything out with a giant feast. While at it the crew also cleaned up some ivy and brush as well, a nice extra. His crew was also very friendly and I enjoyed talking with them as much as Navid. They were professional and friendly. After they left everything was cleaned-up and all looked great. Although it has only been a couple of weeks since the sod and plantings have been installed everything is starting to become established nicely. I recommend hiring Outdoor Makeover. At a minimum, they absolutely should be on your short list of companies to talk to before starting your job. You will come to the same conclusion that I did.

Most of them that he transplanted died because his helpers did not get enough roots. So that was bumper and the cold winter hit some of the Italian Cypresses but they are coming back a little bit. I don’t think I would recommend them. Price wise he was very expensive. He did not listen to what I really wanted him to do. He wanted his own ways than what I wanted.

Navid and his crew were outstanding! Outdoor Makeover completely transformed the outside of our house! When we moved in everything was very overgrown. You couldn't even see our house from the street! Navid came in and redesigned both our front and backyard! The backyard was very heavily planted and we needed more grass for our kids and dog to play on. They removed 5 trees and pulled all the bushes out. They regraded the ground and laid sod. Navid then artfully re-placed many of the plants we already had in new places so we could reuse them. This saved us a lot of money. The backyard looks completely different from what it did before! We now have tons of grass and a very clean, manicured look, which is exactly what we wanted! The front yard is quite large and there were humongous bushes and trees that were simply planted in the wrong places. Navid ripped everything out and started fresh - moving some trees, reusing bushes, and also planting new plants in places that compliment the house, instead of covering it up! The crew Navid uses are friendly, personable, clean, respectful, and professional. Navid was on sight quite often, but when he wasn't, I felt completely comfortable asking any of the guys a question. The work took longer than originally anticipated, but they worked long hours every day and stayed until it was completed. Many other companies would have moved on to another job without finishing, but that is NOT how Navid works! Outdoor Makeover also installed outdoor lighting and fixed our irrigation to work with the new landscaping. Irrigation can be tricky, but they did a great job, and the lighting is really the icing on the cake for the landscaping! It is an art and Navid knows what he is doing to make all the focal points really stand out and be highlighted by the lighting! When they finished the project, they cleaned everything! Pressure washed the back deck, stepping stones, front walkway, driveway, AND the street so our neighbors didn't hate us! :-) As with all landscaping projects there have had to be a few minor tweaks since they left, but as soon as we called Navid either he or one of his guys were here within the day to take care of it! I have never had a company that did work for us be so responsive AFTER all the work was already completed! I cannot recommend Outdoor Makeover enough! The landscaping, lighting, and irrigation are all exactly what we envisioned and more!

This was not a great experience which is disappointing, since others seemed to have provided glowing reviews, which is why I called. The gentlemen was pleasant, although condescending to me, lots of "darlings", and "honeys" I also got a lot of "trust me", when I asked questions, which is quite frustrating. He made an insulting comment that my yard looked so bad because I didn't have a husband to take care of it. The plan was to remove railroad ties, replace with stone walls, relandscape planting areas, and resod. He spent a lot of time on the phone while here, then hand drew a design, and charged me $200 for the plan. Sadly, after he left, I noticed that the plan had no measurements whatsoever, nor did he provide any plant names, or line item estimates, but the total was $20k (he said it was a bargain). I called and told him that I needed the details, which he said he doesn't give so no one can use them to get competing quotes. I reminded him that I paid for the plan, then he agreed that he would provide, but he never made a copy of it for himself. He was supposed to come by to pick it up, but i never heard from him again. I found someone else to do the job for $10k.

We met with Navid of Outdoor Makeover in March 2014. Our yard had been neglected for quite some time. It had drainage problems, broken down retaining walls, overgrown plants, too much shade, and lacked any defined areas for grass, plants, and entertainment. We liked Navid?s customer approach, his thoughtfulness regarding our budget and constraints, and his ability to work within those parameters. Navid offered some suggestions and alternatives to make some tradeoffs so that we could get the maximum benefit out of the work that we wanted. We had quotes/estimates from other landscapers so we knew where the pricing should be for the work, but wanted to have someone we felt we could work with on the project. We felt comfortable that Navid and our visions were very well aligned and gave him a deposit on the job during his initial visit. Together with Navid, our vision was to run as much water into proper drainage as possible, both underground and in a dry river bed. We concentrated on expanding our back yard to include a paver stone patio, fire pit, dry river bed, plantings, sod, natural stone steps to a deck landing and then on to an external basement entry, and lighting. We also sodded the front yard, bringing in a boulder wall to the front contour for interest. We brought down 3 large trees to expand the sunlight, as well as removed many overgrown bushes and excavated to level the yard. The job was estimated to take 5 days and Navid worked with our schedule to ensure that it was done during a time that worked for us. We ultimately did not start the job until the 2nd half of May. There were many unanticipated changes that were made along the way that impacted schedule and made the project last longer, but we always felt as if we had Navid?s interest and attention. There was no sacrifice of quality for the schedule. When it came to things clearly out of the scope of the work for which we wanted to make some changes (e.g. lighting, plantings, additional mulching, etc.), Navid was always mindful of our vision and budget. Navid was very good as preserving and relocating as many plants as possible for us as well as mulching and putting pine straw wherever possible to add to the aesthetics. He, and his foremen, were easy to work with and communicate our questions throughout the project. Many changes were made along the ways which were in line with the vision but probably not what was anticipated in the beginning that Outdoor Makeover was very exceptional at accommodating without chipping away at our budget constraints or up selling. The most significant change made in the overall project that had a large impact was the design of the paver stone sitting area. While we anticipated an ?L? shaped sitting area with minor curves and a fire pit, Navid proposed a more curved approach with columns to define the area. In addition, a semi-circle step coming out of the screened porch to the pavers was added. These changes visually made a stunning improvement in the overall patio area and value of the work done. This involved much more cutting of stone and measurement complexity which Outdoor Makeover accommodated in the scope of the work. Some of the other items included; hooking some drainage to a neighbor?s house to divert water from our hillside, larger stepping stone path than anticipated, additional yard excavation, removal of extra bushes and small trees, much more pine straw that in original estimate. They even replaced 2 small damaged blueberry bushes with 3 large new bushes that are already bearing fruit! Navid has been very good at giving recommendations for care of what he has put in, recommending other suitable quality contractors for ongoing service, as well as recommendations for things we plan to do ourselves. Each time we have contacted Navid with questions or needs since completion of the job with respect to any issues, Navid has always been responsive and taken care of us. He truly believes that ?once a customer, always a customer?. We are happy to endorse Navid?s company and work and would recommend to others. We have some minor items that we have contacted Navid about and our interaction assures us we will be taken care of. We anticipate continuing to do business with Outdoor Makeover.

I am not really sure where to begin. Words do not adequately describe the wonderful landscaping job Outdoor Makeover performed. I was searching for a landscaping contractor that could do both hardscape and landscaping. My project included installation of a sidewalk, two sets of steps, and a patio as well as landscaping. I interviewed three landscaping companies before choosing Outdoor Makeover. Not once during the project did I regret my decision to hire Outdoor Makeover. I had a general idea of what I wanted for my front yard, but I had no idea how to make my idea work. Navid took my idea and transformed my yard into a work of art. Navid understood that I was working with a budget and he made made no effort to exceed that budget nor did he make any effort to persuade me to spend more money. It is a great testament to Navid?s ability that he was able to take my idea, make it work and at the same time keep within my budget.Too many times I have heard contractors say it can?t be done. Navid?s philosophy is tell me what you want and we will make it work. Navid is quick to take corrective action if something is not done to one?s satisfaction. This was evident in a set of 3 steps that I had installed in a separate area of my yard. The steps were not placed quite right and did not have the finished look that I thought they should have. When I mentioned this to Navid the steps were corrected to my satisfaction by the next day. What impressed me the most is the corrective action was taken without any grumbling or hesitation. I never had anyone redo something with such willingness. Navid clearly wants to please his customers. One of the most pleasant surprises was the way these guys cleaned up after themselves. By the time they finished cleaning up my driveway was cleaner then the floors in my house. And they cleaned the street in front of my house to the point that it was immaculate. I am glad the project is completed but I am sad not to see Navid, Joe and the rest of the guys each day. By the end I felt like we were all friends. I actually enjoyed having them here and that is not something I have ever said about any contractor. It was a pleasure working with Navid, Joe and the crew from Outdoor Makeover. Everyone arrived with smiles on their faces each day and every single member of the crew seemed to take great pride in the work they were doing. Navid made at least one trip to the project each day to make sure all was well and if he was not there then Joe was there. I never felt like they were out of touch. The end product truly resulted in an ?outdoor makeover?.

After much online research, my wife and I chose Outdoor Makeover to do some extensive landscaping of our front yard and one side yard. The results are wonderful, and our opinion has been reinforced by a large group of our surrounding neighbors? glowing compliments. Our new look?including rocks large and small, retaining wall, some resodding, new plants and a tree, small circular sidewalk, new walkway, and a herb garden?was attained by the core of what makes a landscape professional truly outstanding: experience and honed expertise, design creativity, attention to detail, flexibility geared to our wishes and checking account, a solid team of equally capable workers, and the ability to produce results at the highest level on budget and on time. We recommend without reservation Navid and all of the others at Outdoor Makeover who were involved in giving us a new and lovely yard.

He came out and helped us. He was prompt and courteous and all that.

They were very professional. He was very friendly, personable, and his timeline was very reasonable. We have several projects that we're working on so we basically decided that we're going to do the other projects first.

Very professional. Very cordial. Just came in a lot higher than other companies. Loved their work that I did see.

The crew from Outdoor Makeover was very hard working and did a very good job. We were pleased with their professionalism and the final product.
