I was very pleased with the work done at Onyz Consulting. When I brought the computer in to them, they were upfront about the $50 prepaid diagnostic charge for first-time customers(which is applied to any additional work) and the fact that it would be the following day before they likely would get to my machine. Rob, the tech who worked on my machine, called to tell me what he had found the day after he started working on it. Rather than go with his first diagnosis of a failing hard drive, he continued to investigate after learning that the drive was only one year old. He then found that the problem was Comcast's Constant Guard security suite. He called later that same day to tell me what he had found and give the cost to repair the problem. After I gave the go-ahead to fix the problem, he ran the computer overnight to be sure there were no other issues. The next morning he called to let me know the computer was ready to pick up. Since my computer security suite had been the problem, he installed Microsoft Security Essentials and turned on Windows firewall so that I my computer would have some security while I searched for another security program. The computer has had no problems since I picked it up.

I used them because a couple of other people that used them and was happy with their service. They have great customer service and explain what is going on and they give you some options.

A corrupted installer program messed up the permissions on my MacBook one evening this week. I took it to Onyx the next morning, and the guys there figured out the issue, reset my permissions and showed me how to do it myself if the problem ever arose again. They answered a couple questions I had too, about upgrading to a newer version of Boot Camp. They didn't charge me a cent.
