Moncrief Heating & Air Conditioning

They were fabulous! Honest and easy to work with. They clarified that the leak had nothing to do with the boiler and that the leak was coming from upstairs due to rotten wood. I'm very satisfied with them and would highly recommend them.

The Morcrief installer was very professional. He explained the job he was going to do. He laid down protective cover over my carpet. He did a very good job installing my new duct work.

Our heat was not working. I called Moncrief and then sent someone out the next day. There was a charge for them to come out (I want to say it was around $80). They determined the control switch board needed to be replaced. They did not have the control board for my unit, so they had to order it. They said it would take a couple days. They called a couple days later and said they had the part and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. They installed the part and the heat was working again. A few weeks later I turned on the air conditioning because the house was very hot. I heard a loud rumbling that sounded like thunder. It was coming from the air conditioning unit. When I turned the A/C off, the rumbling stopped. I called Moncrief and told them of the problem and they scheduled someone to come look at it the same day. The guy determined that that the control switch board had not been calibrated, so he calibrated it to our unit. There was no charge for this. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. All appointments were set up very quickly. I plan to use Moncrief again.

I have used them before. They keep things working and they do come out for HVAC emergencies. They come out promptly and they keep things working. They have routine appointments on Saturdays. I will continue to use them.

I have had a maintenance contract with them for many years. They call me faithfully twice a year to make an appointment for routine inspection and maintenance ( filter replacement etc.}. On the rare previous occasions they have responded immediately when a problem has occurred .Once they even sent (at no charge) a technician to relight the pilot light in my water heater even the though the heater was not included in the contract. Most recently during the 'Arctic Blast" my heat went out. They said they were (predictably) heavily booked but someone would be out between 2PM and 5PM. 6PM and dark arrived and I was about to add another layer of clothing and go to bed, when the door bell rang and it was my knight in shining armor, Elliot from Moncrief . He quickly diagnosed the problem, had a replacement part in his truck, and was soon on his way, I hope, to a beverage of his choice and a good dinner. Leaving me and two appreciative cats basking in 70 degree warmth. As a former teacher I would definitely award Moncrief and their employees an A+ for their work.

Sales rep came out to give a quote on a new heat pump system, inside and out. Could not come anywhere near the quote I got on identical system from other provider, so ended up not using Moncrief. However, they were prompt and professional nonetheless.

The cost was 1,000 more than another provider, so I did not use Moncrief.

It is really easy to make an appointment and their prices are reasonable. They do a good job. They are not a hard sell and up-sellers; they just do what needs to be done.

James Heishman came out to evaluate our existing system and inquired if we were having any problems with the system. We explained that the condenser fan was locking up and that we had observed numerous homes in the neighborhood had systems replaced this past summer. We were interested in replacing / upgrading our system before it fails during the summer. We also explained the lack of heat and cooling at one end of the house, James thoroughly inspected the house and how the ducting was arranged. After his inspection he made recommendations to rearrange the ducting, add another return line and add a damper to improve system operation. That night he emailed three detailed proposals from a basic system, a mid range up to a more top of the line system. At no time did James ever pressure us to make a make a decision or what system we should get. He did answer all our questions and was very informative. After getting four other quotes form top HVLP company?s all ?A? rated here on Angie?s List, and had an A+ BBB rating, Moncrief not only had the best price but offered the best labor coverage.We decided on a 4 Ton Carrier Infinity 2-stage AC and a variable speed furnace with a Carrier Infinity WiFi thermostat installed. The install team ( Steve, Mike, and Herman ) were extremely professional and hardworking. They arrived at 9AM and didn?t leave till nearly 5PM. The duct work alone took all three men nearly 4 hours to complete. When the work was completed they thoroughly cleaned up any mess. I could not be happier with the work accomplished. Rooms that had low air flow , now have great ventilation. Do yourself a favor and give them a call.

After our 28 year old system died, we got quotes from several companies. Ken at Moncrief was very knowledgable and was the only rep who made suggestions for improving duct work and our entire system, and all within our budget. I did a lot of research on HVAC companies and on systems (consumer reports, etc.) so I had an idea of what I wanted and what to look out for. Ken promptly provided a quote (and recommended one of the best systems that I had I had found from the research) and helped us decide between our two final choices of models. Within days (thank goodness-it was summer!), installers Herman and Robbie arrived and worked all day. Robbie returned the following day to complete the sheet metal work, check the system, and review our new controls with us. They were both very professional and left the place cleaner than before. We couldn't be happier with the system. We were almost freezing with it set at our normal temperature. I know we will save money in the long run and be much more comfortable. The whole experience was wonderful.

Julius called before he came and arrived exactly on time. Diagnosed the problem in 10 minutes. I ordered the new part and again he called before he came. The A/C is like new again

The initial inspection and following quotation were prompt and thorough. When we informed the sales engineer that we accepted his quotation the entire installation was completely installed the next day. The quality of the work is impressive. The installers were very courteous and professional. We were very impressed.

First, they sent me Ken Heyde for the assessment and proposal. Ken's engineer's mindset offered so much beyond a sales job: he could see where my system was not working for me and how to fix it (such as adding a duct to my den to improve air flow). None of the sales people sent by other companies did much more than talk price and leave brochures... Ken got the proposal together quickly and listened to my concerns about price. I knew I was going to get quality work from a respected Atlanta institution but needed to be able to afford it. On Monday two guys showed up at the appointed time, greeted me professionally, and got right to work. It took them ALL DAY (and this is not a complaint: they had A LOT of work to do!), but they were always helpful, never annoyed by my questions, and they seemed to be quite thorough. They walked through the entire job with me at the end of the day and showed me everything, making sure I knew how to use the new thermostat, etc. I am extremely happy with my Moncrief experience and with the way my air conditioner has operated all summer long. Ken was right: the new duct worked MAGIC in my den, which is now the coolest and most comfortable room in the house. Thank you Moncrief!!!

Service man arrived on-time did complete inspection and test of system replaced filters, checked charge on AC, filled if needed. System has performed flawlessly.

We have been under a maintenance contract with Moncrief for several years. They are always professional and I have no issues having the servicemen in our home. They are generally on time, and will often call if they are running behind schedule. Everyone has been very friendly - from the person scheduling the appointments to the servicemen themselves. The only down-side is the annual cost for the contract. There are other companies who offer similar services for much less, but because our units are getting older, I want to stay with professionals that I can trust.

Wonderful service, I couldn't be happier with my new system. They arrived on time & worked all day until the heat pump was up & running. They finished on the next day. This was a big job. They removed all the old equipment & cleaned up afterwards. I will be using them in the future.

I've dealt with them for over 20 years. I was very particular with Tom on my concerns and the pricing of the compressor. Tom happened to be on vacation at the time of the appointment. They never came by to look at my air conditioner before quoting. When they came out to my house, they looked at my air conditioner they said I had a build up of acid and oil and it would cost $900 to fix. When I called the office, the receptionist was very rude and confrontational when I voiced my concerns. I offered to compromise and pay the additional $80 to meet them half way. She wasn't willing to take me up my compromise. I called back to speak with Tom a few days later and he wasn't in. I received a call back 4 days later from Glen Pierce (general manager) and he had his justifications ready to go. I explained that I spoke with Tom and confirmed pricing, and he responded that they haven't serviced my air conditioner since 2010. In my conversation with Tom, he was able to remember that my air conditioner was 2-ton and that the name was scratched off. Glen Pierce admitted that they should've looked at my air conditioner first before providing a quote. At this point, I offered to meet them half way and they still weren't interested. Their attitude in this matter wasn't very professional. I'm just disappointed in the way they handled this situation. I wasn't expecting this from a company with a good reputation.

Their price is low and very reasonable. They came out the same day and fixed it; My mom is the one who was with them and she said that they were very nice and helpful.

Companies that do not bother contacting clients back will eventually go out of business.

I liked them. They are professional and very quick. They are doing the work that they love.

Hottest day of the year so far, and the guys were in a sweltering attic half the day. The other half of the day they were trying to decide how to hoist the LARGE air-conditioning unit onto a ledge without destroying the landscaping. They had to bring in a 4th guy and a long, wide plank. They put that unit on the plank and three pushed it up the plank while the fourth helped position it. The men were appreciative of the cold watermelon I gave them and I welcomed them to help themselves to jug of cold water in the fridge. They had a f ull day's work on day one, then on day two, one man returned to finish the ductwork and the installation of the vent.

Professional and answered all my questions. Got other estimates and some were lower but the service and reliability made up for any price. Yearly maintenance charges are high though.

They were great - kept in good contact, followed through on commitments and provided all services at a reasonable price.
