He was quick, efficient, and friendly. He also provided me with the old part so I know he was honest. He also checked to make sure it was working.

If you can get past the demeanor of the ladies who answer the phone and make the appointments (they're CLEARLY quite busy and not particularly friendly), the technicians are wonderful: they re prompt, professional, talk to me about what's going on with my system, and they work hard to find and fix the issue. Bonus: they don't seem to be trying to sell me something, unless I ask for it, which was my experience EVERY TIME with another company. I've been happy with Moncrief every service call (including routine stuff), and I know they're taking good care of my system and of me!

The showed right on time. We quite because the baby was sleeping. Tightened up a few things and left. It went really fast.

They're super. They show up on time. If they're not going to be there on time, they call and let you know. You get the same guy every time if possible, so he knows your heating and air system and knows how it works.

The technician was very thorough and knowledgeable however I was able to get a similar scope of work completed by a different company for much less money.

My husband and I have used Moncrief for nearly 30 years -- ever since we bought this house. The prior owner used Moncrief and recommended them. Over the years we have had this company perform all service/maintenance work on our HVAC system. They are not cheap, but they do good work and are very trustworthy.

We got back from vacation on a Saturday night and the air conditioner was not cooling. At 8:15 on Sunday morning we called Moncrief and an actual employee answered (I was expecting an answering service). They scheduled an appoint for that day. The repairmen arrived on time. One part had to be ordered from the manufacture; that happened first thing on Monday morning and before the end of the day on Monday the repairman was back with the part and an hour later the unit was running and cooling. The office personnel were polite and efficient and the repair man was very experienced and nice. Prior to calling Moncrief we contacted one other company. An answering service took the call and when someone called us back we were told that the first available appointment was in 5 days. Needless to say, we were pleased with the quick response from Moncrief.

called several companies on 6/23/2014 , and Moncrief was the first one that could send someone out "as soon as possible in the afternoon". Not an issue since that was the response from every other company. Technician arrived on time, was very professional and quickly found and fixed the problem. Unfortunately, I didn't explicitly tell him to review any repairs with me prior to making them. I was charged a $95 diagnostic fee and $130 to replace a $15 capacitor. $225 for 45 minutes of labor and $15 of parts. Overall a good experience, but I would not have agreed to $130 service charge for a capacitor replacement. Update to Provider response 7/1/2014 ***DISCLAIMER*** To anyone reading this review. I AM qualified to change a capacitor, the average user should not attempt to make any repair with a capacitor or any other device of this type as it can cause serious injury and death when done incorrectly. I have no complaints with the technician, he was competent and professional and did a great job. In response to your pricing explanation, that's great. I understand. We all need to do what we need to do to cover the cost of doing business. I don't feel like anything was not a fair or honest price. I don't feel like it's out of line with the market cost. Bottom line, I don't care. Your overhead of doing business to stay in business is not my problem. I agreed to pay $95 for a diagnostic fee to find out what was wrong with the unit. I would not have agreed to an additional $130 to replace a capacitor had I been asked before the work was done. Once the work was done, I paid the bill and I'm not asking for a refund or anything else for many of the reasons you outline. Had I known it was the blower motor capacitor, I would have gladly accepted absorbing the 90 minutes to drive to one of the Industrial Supply stores in Atlanta that I have an account to purchase a new capacitor the next day because I'm cheap like that. The unit had been out for almost 3 days at that point and the other unit was picking up the slack pretty well. However, I didn't have to drive anywhere or wait for shipping because I ALREADY HAD THE CAPACITOR. I bought it when I had to replace the capacitor on the outside unit 2 years ago and I wanted one on hand when the inside unit went. I also know it wasn't bad out of the box, because I tested the capacitance and discharge in the store with a Fluke 113 multimeter before I took possession of said box. It was located in a drawer less than 15 feet from your tech. Given the opportunity, that's $34 I didn't need to spend. I would have most likely taken the chance on making the repair myself, as replacing the capacitor is not one of the more difficult tasks involved. Make sure the power is off at the breaker, do that special thing that must be done to make capacitors safe, disconnect the leads, remove old capacitor, put in new capacitor, reconnect leads and so on. While I appreciate the time you spent to write this review and the personal note that I received in the mail, I hope this helps you understand the reason for my dissatisfaction.

They were reasonable and clean and did good work.

I have been shopping around for a new HVAC service, and Moncrief was one of the services that I called - and I called a handful. Of the bunch that I spoke to, the answers I received about their service were the most complete and thorough, and helpful. If I do switch services, it will likely be to Moncrief, based upon the quality of their ability to speak about their business to a prospective customer alone.

Couldn't have gone any better. I have been using Moncrief for at least 5-6 years, and have been lucky enough to have the same person come out at least 3 of those times, i.e you can request the same person. The fact that Kevin, the same mechanic, was still there, is a good sign, in and of itself. Making appointments is a breeze. I've called on a Friday and gotten an appointment first thing Monday morning. The service mechanic shows up ON TIME and I have been called when he is on his way. I never feel like the service mechanic is rushed. They stay until the work is complete. Always courteous. Highly recommend.

The service provider was prompt, punctual. Seemed very knowledgable about the unit and the problem. He corrected the problem, carefully explained cost range before performing the work and advised of any future problems and their potential cost. Would definitely use them again

The tenant in my rental property stated she had no cold air blowing. That day I called around for estimates and times to get to it, in busy hot July. I spoke with Moncrief early in the afternoon, and they were able to come out that evening and fix the issue - for a reasonable price, with honesty and integrity. Thanks.

They have been prompt and reliable. When my heater failed during very cold weather, they were there quickly and had the repair done within 12 hours of my call. This has been a preventive maintenance expense that has been worth it's weight in heating and cooling!

I got them from Angie's List and they are great. I wish they were cheaper.

The guy who preformed the service was amazing. It was frigid in our basement because we hadn't had heat for 2-3 days and it was during the horrible snow storm here in Atlanta, and he worked quick and efficient and never complained once about how cold it was down where he was working. He even took a look at our attic vents while he was here and adjusted them to help with airflow upstairs. I would highly recommend Moncrief and will be using them again!

Terrific service, the service rep was very knowledgeable, professional, gave me excellent advice and I have referred this company to friends who had equally good experiences.

We like them very much, we use them for everything, and we think they are very good company. They offer service planning and they always call to remind us about setting the appointment for them to service our units, they will tell us things we can do that would cost less and very honest.

They did well. Everything went good.

Some might think that taking 2 tries is a negative review. Not in the detail. I hovered a bit during both visits. This was a weird problem. They charged me minimally for the first visit, and it seemed professionally handled. It took another week to find out that the repair probably messed up the emergency heat wiring. That 2nd time 2 different people downloaded a schematic and totally rewired the whole heat pump/AC system. I think it works better than before it failed because emergency heat never worked quite right before, but not it does. Anyway, the effort on the 2nd trip was at least 3 hours with 2 people (one was an apprentice), about double the 1st visit, yet no extra charge. 2 months later now and all is fine. Attitude good. Responsiveness nearly perfect. Ok maybe they tripped a bit the 1st try on a tricky one, but then the did what you'd wish everyone would do in such a case - send out the best guy right away and work it right.

The member was very pleased with the service. The provider was very concerned about the system. They took their time and made sure that the unit was services completely. They did not rush in and rush out.

My semi-annual inspection of three units has just been completed and lasted over an hour as everything was checked, replaced and cleaned as appropriate. A condenser unit was replaced at no charge because it was growing weak. Conversely, they have suggested that I do the replacement of my HEPA filter, since their mark-up makes the total cost twice what Home Depot charges. They are prompt and responsive. When I have had problems, they have been very good at getting to the root problem and solving it. I have the same technician every time, except in emergencies, so it's easy for him to keep up with performance and problems.
