 + -1 moreWhen I called they were able to work me in for the same day, they arrived within the allotted timeframe. The tech was friendly, and helpful. He ran into something he was not sure about and had to have a second person sent out (he arrived in short order). They determined what was wrong and made the repair, also suggesting something else that should be done. They left the work area clean and free of materials. The price seemed a little high to me, but not outrageous.
Description of Work: The heat would not come on, but the blower continued to run. They found a short and also the condesate pump was broken. The repaired them and so far I have had no problems.

Description of Work: Blower for heat and air wouldn't come on. Had a couple "friends" look at who did some rewiring, testing, etc. We were able to get the A/C unit to come on manually and we also changed the big fuses for the A/C unit as well as the thermostat but couln't get the thing to run by itself. I finally called Moncrief. The lady who took my call (forgot her name) was extremely polite and said would have someone out by 5:00. I requested later in the afternoon because that is what my tenant wanted (I'm the landlord). Anyway, John showed up around 5:30 & after some troubleshooting, discovered that a little 3 amp fuse inside the motor for the blower was blown. He replaced it and everything worked perfectly (even made sure the furnace worked & filters okay before leaving). The area he had to work in wasn't ideal sine it's a crawl space basement and you have do go all the way across to the other side of the house from the outside access door. Once you get to the unit it is pretty much a belly crawl.

Out of the 5 providers that I had out to give me estimates, their engineer was the only one who actually turned on my furnace, and found out that it actually worked and would not need to be replaced. The engineer was intelligent and courteous, and the installers were prompt, efficient, and friendly. They cleaned up the house when they left, and other than the new A/C unit, the new vents, and the new thermostat, I wouldn't have even known they were there. Overall, I would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Removal of old duct work and old A/C unit, installation of new duct work, new A/C unit, new thermostat, and air purifier.

Description of Work: Moncrief installed an entirely new hvac system in our house two years ago. They had a special promotion going at the time, and we saved over $2,000 on the super efficient system they installed. Our bills have been much lower as a result despite the higher cost of power since then. We have also used them for regular maintenance for the past 10 or so years.

 + -1 moreBoth engineers that performed the work were exceptionally professional, arriving on time and always moving through my condo watching to keep the place clean. They honestly reported the problems and I feel I got excellent service. Their annual service plan (roughly $260/year) has proved a huge benefit, as I have had several visits since and they have performed minor repairs and replacements under the plan.
Description of Work: Moncrief came to look at my AC system, which was not cooling. They did a thorough review of the system and determined that there was a coolant leak. They refilled the coolant. I signed up for their annual service plan, which covered the work performed as well as a second inspection later in the year. On that occasion they found the leak was still there and I had it repaired.

 + 0 moreDuring my initial phone call to their very knowledgeable and friendly customer service department on a SUNDAY, I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the same tech could fix both these problems with one service call at a reasonable rate. I received a phone call advising the tech was on his way, prior to the scheduled arrival time. Once he arrived, he was very knowledgeable and professional and was able to repair these two totally unrelated items in less time than originally estimated. It's nice change of pace to find a company in Atlanta that doesn't try to take advantage of a single woman. I strongly recommend this company. They answer their phones and provide service 7 days a week without charging additional weekend or holiday fees.
Description of Work: A/C unit needed freon due to freon leak & breaker switch needed to be replaced for hot water heater (no HOT water or COLD air over the Memorial Day weekend). Once the tech determined where the leak was located, he recommended contacting the manufacturer to verify warranty coverage prior to additional services being rendered to replace part.

MONCRIEF HAD HIGHER PRICES, BUT THEY ALSO HAD THE BEST QUALITY UNIT (TRANE) AND THEY HANDLE ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL HOOKUPS. FOR THE OTHER COMPANIES I WOULD HAVE HAD TO HIRE AN ELECTRICIAN TO SUPPLY THAT. OVERALL THAT MADE THEIR PRICES COMPETITIVE. ADD IN SOME DISCOUNTS I FOUND ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR A NEW UNIT AND FOR PAYING WHEN FINISHED (INSTEAD OF FINANCING), IT HELPED DROP THE PRICE TO WHERE THEY WERE THE BEST CHOICE OVERALL.

SUPERVISORS WERE COURTEOUS, BUT IT TOOK MAJOR COMPLAINING TO GET THEM TO APPEAR. THEY HAVE SOME GREAT SERVICE TECHS AND SOME REAL LOSERS, BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU GET!
Description of Work: TWO NEW HEATERS INSTALLED, CUT OFF GAS TO ALL WATER HEATERS, DID NOT RESET THERMOSTATS, HAD TO HAVE SUPERVISORS COME AND FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN, AS THERE ARE TWO WATER HEATERS IN BASEMENT THEY TURNED BOTH GAS HEATERS ON, BUT ONLY LET THE CONNECTION FLOW TO ONE CAUSING OVERHEATING AND EXCESS WATER FLOWING OVER IN BASEMENT.
