He had explained what had happened and showed us what to do to correct the problem if it happens again. He also told us about a service contract and thought we would be interested in purchasing the program. Two months later we purchased the agreement. He was helpful and I felt comfortable having him in my home.

We have been using this company for quite some time. They have replaced a water heater for us, they have removed an air conditioning unit, they have done heating work for us and regardless of what they are doing they always do a great job. Now this past time, they came back to our house to check on us free of charge to ensure their diagnosis of what was going on was correct. I think this says a whole lot about what kind of a business they are and how much they care about long term customers like my wife and I.
Description of Work: Our A/C was basically not successfully cooling our 2000 square foot home. This company came out, assessed the unit, and said it was not enough to keep up with the 106 temperatures that we get here in Atlanta. They checked Freon levels and cleaned out the fuzz and everything like that. They said that as soon as the temperatures dropped a little, the machine would function fine again. They then came back out the following week to make sure their assessment was correct, which it was.

Originally, Moncrief installed my unit and they did a good job then. All my routine visits go just great including this one. It is still under warranty and I pay them yearly for it. My service includes maintenance checks, problems in between, and also scheduled cleanings and changing of the filter. They are a great company and I am happy to deal with them.

I have a maintenance agreement with them. I only pay them whenever I need a part replaced like this time. The service is really good and the crew shows you exactly what is wrong and what they need to do to fix it.

They are very respectful. Every time they come, they wear booties in my house and are very clean. They are responsive and honest which is what I like about them. They do good work and they are very quick. The customer service is real helpful when I call and they always come on time.

The repair person SHOWED UP!! Company called to inform us that he was on his way. We were given a 9 a.m. through 12 noon time on a Friday, this was a Saturday appointment. He arrived at 9:13 a.m. The unit froze Thursday evening (103 degrees?), and while it of course recovered I thought it time to have someone look at it. He never identified an absolutely sure problem; the system took only a half pound of refrigerant and he repaired some wires to the condenser unit outside. I have made my living as an auto mechanic, I watched very closely. His "detective logic" (looking for causes) was superb, and his detail work, checking the system performance and his wiring work, were beyond reproach.

The technician, Chris, was like a good detective who was explaining what he saw and the possible causes as he was diagnosing the problem. He kept me informed through the entire process and made recommendations. Because the system was less than a year old, he described in detail the issues with the original install that were causing the problem in the attic and fixed each one. They were very competent, courteous, honest and I would highly recommend their services.

Field service rep originally did not converse well with us. Thought we did not want to spend any money. And did not seem to notice Freon was leaking. Subsequently, their quote was higher than the other two estimates we got and, since the tenant was uncomfortable with the high temperature indoors, we needed something done quickly. Earliest they could schedule was one week from proposal date. Competition will have job finished within two days.

It has been only a little while since this company worked on my rental property's air conditioner and now the unit is having the same problems all over again. I think this company could stand to improve the quality of their work. If they did that, perhaps my air conditioner would not be experiencing the same problem all over again. Overall, they are not a bad company. I would just like to see the quality of their work improve.
Description of Work: They took out a part in the air conditioning unit that sits in my 1600 square foot rental property. They supposedly repaired that piece that was causing the unit not to cool space quietly and accurately and put it back in.

They were able to find the problem very quickly and I was happy that it wasn t a major part in the unit. They gave me a very reasonable price considering the amount of work they did. I do plan on having a service agreement with them in the future.

First, the lady who took my call was very professional. When I told her of the leak she told me to shut down the attic unit to avoid additional water damage prior to the repair. As promised, the technician called about 20 minutes before he was to arrive, which was early within the promised timeframe. Before entering he put on covers over his shoes to avoid tracking any dirt. After I explained the problem he took a quick look at the attic unit and immediately said the problem was that the main condensation line and the overflow line at the base of the unit were clogged. He quickly serviced both units, and verified that the problem was as he anticipated. Since their normal service includes clearing condensation lines, there was no charge over their normal servicing charge. One of our outside units was freezing up, caused by a leak in the freon lines. Instead of trying to sell me on a major repair, he just re-charged the unit and said it would probably get through the season.
Description of Work: Attic A/C was leaking water through my ceiling. I also needed both our systems serviced for the summer A/C season.

Terrible, never got an update call- wasted an entire afternoon for nothing.
Description of Work: I set up an appointment and was told a technician would be by between 2-5pm 3 days after I scheduled the appointment. I never got a call saying the tech would be late until 6:30, when it was far too late. I couldn't recommend any company that wastes my time like this without so much as a courtesy call.

The inspection, evaluation and recommendations to select the system and return a quote were quick and efficient. Moncrief sent an engineer one day after our call. The work was scheduled while we were on vacation, with the understanding that the engineer would personally do a quality check on the finished job to ensure our satisfaction. The installation crew arrived a few days before they were scheduled, nobody remembered to call us on our cell phone as instructed. The system did not work when we got home. Moncrief returned to correct the problems quickly. The interior controls were not configured properly. here was no increase in airflow from the furnace that was estimated by the engineer. When we asked Moncrief to return after 3 months to recheck the ducts and explain the lack of air flow to the bedroom, they tried to charge us for the service call. The charge was dropped after my call, but we were warned that future service calls were not free. It was a mixed experience.
Description of Work: Evaluation, selection and installation of 2 furnaces and one central air unit. Ducts were cleaned through a sub-contractor. Inspection and recommendations on duct work was included.

Moncrief's technician was prompt, courteous, professional, and very competent. He quickly diagnosed and solved the problem. Since I have a service plan agreement with Moncrief, there was only a nominal charge for a small uncovered part. The cost noted is the annual charge for the service plan, which is very inclusive, for two A/C units and a furnace. The cost might seem a little high but I don't mind paying top dollar for top service. I highly recommend Moncrief.

I called them around 9:30am, and they told me they could have a tech over before 12 pm today, and around 10:30am, I received a phone call that a tech was on his way. He showed up and quickly saw the problem being a little mechanical dial on the furnace, which had gotten old and was worn. He suggested a replacement, which ran at $260, which I refused since we would rather run the furnace (20+ years old) until it breaks, then get a new one. Instead, he suggested tapping the dial when it got stuck and then it would eventually get working again. Here a month later, the tapping has worked and the dial is working again.

Very punctual. Found the problem quickly (tripped flame roll switch). Changed filter and checked all major safeties and controls and heat exchange for cracks. I bought the Annual Service Plan. If the flame roll out trips again I won't have to pay for the service and they will also service and inspect my A/C in spring. He also set the dampers correctly so all the heat wouldn't blow to the upstairs!
