Macy's Perimeter Furniture Showroom - Atlanta

Couch order was scheduled for over two month delay, so cancelled. Never reached salesman again (vacation?), so did everything online.

This story starts out as a giant screw up by Macy's. In February I special ordered a sleeper sofa from Macy's Furniture in anticipation of my upcoming move across the state. The sales experience was great, and the time line for making and delivering the sofa was perfect for my move. I received receipts in store, and two automated email conformations. Two months passed; the week before my move I called Macy's to touch base. My order had been canceled two days after I made it! Apparently the sofa was discontinued; nobody bothered to email or call about the cancellation AND they kept my money. Needless to say, I was mad.So a salesperson at the store got in touch with me and was actually able to make me happy (which was no easy task). He was incredibly polite, apologetic, and he was outraged on my behalf. Furthermore- he had the authority to offer discounts and such. He offered me the Macy's Friends and Family 10% discount and an additional 10% discount, and gave me $150 in gift cards since he couldn't wave the delivery fee. We met at the store and he spent about 2 hours with me, trying out different sofas, going over all of the options, and making triple sure that there would be no problems with the factory. His name is Chris Maloof- and he was fantastic. As I was leaving I thanked him for making the situation right, and his response was, "Thanks for giving me the opportunity." Now that is customer service! And I saved about $500 compared to the first couch :)
