Kenny's Odd Jobs

I had to get the deals refunded because he did not show up for the appointment scheduled and will not respond to any of my phone calls. I also noticed other members were having the same issues and the man just doesn't seem very reliable.

Kenny never showed up and never called. I scheduled two appointments with him and have never had any work completed.

The dry rot repairs were just repaired with putty and painted while wet causing the areas to be soft. not hard like wood. the front was painted and the sides and back were not touched. I was living in Fl and got a call from him to ask if I would pay the paint store for the paint, tarp, rollers,brushes etc he had no money. He would not allow me to deduct the $200.00 coupon from the bill but after talking with him I was allowed to deduct $50. on this job and $50.00 on the move. He showed up with just himself and one other person to load 1 1/2 storage units into a uhaul 26 ft truck and started at noon and I returned the truck at 10.00pm and did a lot of the work myself. there was a lot of scratches and broken items when I got to the house with the furniture. I asked for the paint receipt over $200. and still don't have it. He promised to go by the paint store and get a copy still haven't heard anything.

Overall, it went well. No mess, no surcharges, no extra work.

The only good I can say is that when I did talk to him on the phone, he seemed nice and responsive.

He was a very nice guy but didn't do a good job of keeping things clean. Many times I asked him and his helpers to use my utility sink yet they kept using my kitchen sink to clean brushes and such. Two times he disappeared for 2wks and wouldn't return my phone calls. I also had to pay someone $550 to fix what he did to the tile floor and had to have the ceiling molding redone as well as some of the painting. I eventually had to tell him to stop. Again, nice guy and he is good for small jobs and demolition but not for jobs that need a lot of finishing - no major work.

The only contact I had was with his answering machine. I made two calls last month, gave a third one this week, as well as sent him an email and have never heard from him.

We contacted Kenny and scheduled an appointment as we bought the Big Deal coupons. We had to reschedule the appointment 2 times due to bad weather as we wanted him to stain our deck. When the new appointment date and time came, he was a no show. We called him and he was apologetic and said he was not done with the current job and asked to reschedule. We rescheduled, he again was a no show. We called him again on both home and cell and left messages and emailed him. We got no response. After not hearing from him in 2 days from the scheduled appointment date and calling again during that period, which we were not able to reach him, I contacted Angie’s list and asked that they attempt to contact him on our behalf. They attempted to contact him and got no answer and left messages. As of today I have yet to hear from him. Because neither myself nor Angie’s list personnel were able to actually reach him I don’t know if there was a tragic event in his life or if this is just pour professionalism. However, I wanted to state the facts in the event he has experienced some tragic event. My rating is on not being able to reach him and his no show. I can’t comment on how his work “would have been” had he showed up or returned our calls or emails. I have requested a refund for the big deal purchase from Angie’s list.

We liked him because he knew what he was doing, and he was on time. Even though my overall experience was a B, I found a different person that I will be using on a permanent basis.

The first job he did went okay. I was a little disappointed that he did not have as much experience with the fireplace project. My main issue was the punctualilty and not showing up to the appointment we had scheduled.

Called Kenny and made an appt. about 3 weeks in advance. He was personable on the phone and extended my Big Deal for the time he would be at my house for the work to be completed. At the appointed day and time he was a no show. Not only did he not call to cancel, but when I texted him, emailed him, and called him and left a voicemail, he rudely did not even answer one of them for an explaination. After reading the reports regarding his Big Deal offer I have concluded this vendor is irresponsible. I needed these things done and cleared my calender for him to come, but he did not even have the courtesy to show up on time or answer any one of my communications to him. I do not tolerate this kind of unprofessionalism --no matter what the quality of this man's work might haven been. I asked for refund, and will hire someone more professtionally mature to get the work that still need to be done..

It took me a month to even get on his calendar. When I did get on there, he won't show up or even return my phone calls. I really need a handyman soon because I am moving, and I was really looking forward to this job.

I took a Friday afternoon off work to meet him and he didn't show. I rescheduled for another Friday afternoon and again he didn't show and in fact had scheduled another job during my time. I am getting this refunded.

The process went very well. We also talked about some other projects

The appointment time was at 9 AM and when he had not arrived at that time I gave him a call and he said he would be right over. He arrived approximately an hour late however upon arrival he was ready to tackle any task asked. He began by diagnosing the issue with my garbage disposal (it wouldn't grind garbage) and he thought I needed a new one. I went to Home Depot to pick one up while he tackled the next task which was to change the locks on the front and garage door so that I would only need one key. Upon returning from Home Depot with the new disposal, Kenny was just finishing up the lock job. He then changed out the garbage disposal in a reasonable amount of time. Next I had several large pieces of art and mirrors that needed to be hung and he used his tools (level, etc) to insure that they were being hung correctly.Overall Kenny did an excellent job and was very pleasant and insistant on doing the jobs to my satisfaction. I would definitely call on him again to do work around the house.

I was pleased with the knowledge and service provided.

Kenny was professional, responsible and willing to take on whatever I asked of him. I was getting ready to move into a new house and had a long list of to-do's and Kenny was flexible enough to work on several different things during the day and he accomplished more than I had hoped for.

He was incredibly responsive in terms of showing on short notice. He got the work done independently & arranged payment very easily for me. He's just great! Very friendly & professional.

It went well. He did the work in great time, and did a good job.

The first Big Deal went okay. However, he turned to be an unreliable vendor. We don't know what his skills are to do the other carpenter work we had scheduled because he never showed up.

I was a little apprehensive at first because Mr. Kenny and I had a couple of "false starts" due to me not having my cabinets in time and then he had to reschedule because of a project that took much longer than he thought it would. We finally got on the same page and Mr. Kenny came out, on time, and did an excellent job with the project.

Got in touch with him he came out and did all the work we had. It worked out great.

He came out right when he said he would. He was professional and we were very pleased with the work.
