Jennifer M. Barnes Appraiser

Horrible to say the least. Appraiser Jennifer M. Barnes, does not know how to do an appraisal. We offered her the appraisal of a home in the same neighborhood where the subject property and the home in the neighborhood, both were approximately the same size and the same finishes and she wouldn't use that home and wouldn't say why she wouldn't use it. Jennifer M. Barnes doesn't know how to appraise homes in intown Atlanta, especially where it's a changing neighborhood. Neighborhoods like East Atlanta, Decatur, West End, O4W, Westview, West Midtown, Westside, or any other intown Atlanta neighborhood in Fulton or DeKalb County. Most appraisers will call you or your listing agent before going to view the home and Jennifer M. Barnes did not. Appraiser are not suppose to set a 1 mile diameter and set the price when they view homes in MLS, especially, intown Atlanta, but my agent tells me that's what she did because initially she didn't even pick up the home in my neighborhood because she had set a price parameter and it's why she totally missed it. We asked the mortgage company to have her review the appraisal, but you are stuck at the mercy and Jennifer M. Barnes wouldn't budge. it's not fair if you have a bad appraiser and one like Jennifer M. Barnes, who doesn't know intown Atlanta and prejudged the home before even making her "analysis". You can't ask for a specific appraiser, but you can ask for someone who knows intown Atlanta and Evolve Mortgage didn't do that nor did they make a vigorous response to this appraiser. Luckily, we still sold the home, but we could have had a much smoother transaction without Jennifer M. Barnes, Appraiser.
