Rich is my hero. I called him to come do various jobs around the house in anticipation of my putting my house on the market. He was here within two days and in a very professional manner went about correcting all my problems in a short amount of time. There was nothing I needed him to do that he couldn't do, and he did each job in a clean and efficient manner. I am so glad I found him on Angie's List and would not hesitate to hire him again.
Description of Work: Caulking around tubs and countertops, electrical work, disconnecting gas grill, removed speaker wires installed under house, installed speaker box to outdoor intercom system, installed new miniblind on door in garage, re-anchored towel bar in bathroom, realigned gate latch to crawl space, directed run off line in yard, disposed of dead possum in my driveway

It went great. He arrived on time, completed all work, was polite, kept things neat, was nice to my dog, and gave me great advice on a few other house projects I have coming up.
Description of Work: He hung curtain rods, hung blinds, removed weather stripping from the bottom of a door, fixed a door so it hung properly and swung smoothly, and provided advice on a few larger projects and how I might address those needs.

Rich showed up on time and had no trouble properly re-installing the ceiling fan, which a previous person had been unable to do. It is still working without problems 3 months later. He also secured a gate and sink to the wall, both of which had come loose over the years. He was able to take a look at our non-functioning doorbell and replace the batteries even though this wasn't on the original to-do list. The only thing he was unable to do was fix the clogged drain due to not having the proper equipment for the job. Since he was a general handyman and not a plumber, I don't hold that against him. We were happy with his work and will likely use him again in the future as our house continues to fall apart.
Description of Work: Rich re-installed a ceiling fan that was previously out-of-whack and making noise, re-attached a wooden gate to the wall, repaired a doorbell (installed new batteries), re-affixed a sink to the wall, and attempted to unclog a drain.

On the weekend of January 8, I woke up to find out I had a frozen water line in my kitchen. I kept heat on the pipes all of Friday night trying to thaw them. On Saturday, a plumber (also from Angie?s List) came out and took care of the problem, but he did not have all of the material that he needed to thoroughly insulate the area. He placed some insulation in the wall and taped the outside vinyl siding back into place and the plumber suggested I have a handy person come out on Monday to fill the wall cavity under the sink and from the outside with foam, caulk all areas that need caulking, and reinstall the vinyl siding on the outside. I called Rich Ramires (I did not think he would be available on such short notice because he is very popular). To my surprise, Rich said he could come out that Monday and take care of my problem. I was surprised because Rich is really good at what he does and he is in much demand. I did not think he would be available on such short notice. Rich did an excellent job. He picked up all of the material he needed, sprayed expanding insulation into the wall cavity and around the pipes, reinstalled various layers within the wall, screwed the vinyl siding back into place, and caulked and gap filled around the pipes outside and under the kitchen sink. While he was at my house, I asked him if he could also measure my whole house for crown molding. Rich took care of this as well. For labor, time, and materials, he only charged me $139.00. As always, he left his work area spotlessly clean. Rich is a pleasure to work with. I am so glad I found him on Angie?s List.

Rich Ramires is wonderful to work with. He was at my house when he said he would be. He was well groomed and well-mannered. Rich took care of everything on my list and he also took care of some additional items that he saw needed fixing. I enlisted Rich to take care of the following items: Caulk a bath tub and a separate shower, fix a leak in my kitchen faucet, fix a drip in my bathroom faucet, install a new light fixture, replace a GFCI outlet in my bathroom, fix a bedroom door that was angled wrong, and also fix a sliding door and knob that I was having issues with. Rich took care of everything perfectly. He is very conscientious and takes great pride in his work. Rich charges $65.00 per hour and he is worth every penny of it. Everything listed above cost me under $200.00. I look forward to working with Rich again in the future. He is awesome!!! Please be aware that there are two different companies called "Honey Do's" on Angie's List. Make sure you speak with Rich Ramires, 674-480-7073 (he is the best).

I called and explained what I needed, which was basically to fix the shoddy work of another handyman. He asked me a number of questions about the type of door, lighting, etc. and he was very patient in answering my questions. Before he even came out to do the work, he told me: what supplies he would need; what time he would be there to start; an estimate of the amount of time it would take to finish. Basically, there were no surprises. I like that. Once he got there, he called to let me know he'd arrived (someone else was at the house to let him in), and to just briefly review what we'd agreed on. Again, I like that. Later in the day, I called the cable company about something unrelated, and they said I could get an electrician to fix the problem. Since he was there, I asked him if he could do it. I appreciated the fact that he was willing to do it, but honest about the fact that what I was asking for was not something he normally did (not that he couldn't, just that he didn't normally do it). He seemed to be really sensitive to the fact that I'd just gotten burned by someone who overpromised and underdelivered. I really appreciated that too. It ended up taking longer than he originally estimated for him to finish the work, but that was okay because before he came, we discussed how we would proceed if the estimate needed to be adjusted. So even though the final cost was higher, it wasn't a surprise because he called me as soon as he realized that it would take longer, and let me know. Plus, in all fairness, the first estimate was sight unseen and based only on my description. Before he left, he called me to let me know he was leaving, and to explain everything he'd done, and everything that I would see when I got home. He did this even though my mother was there in the house. I really appreciated this as well. Sometimes contractors forget who actually hired them, and they give progress reports, etc. to the person they see rather than the person who is paying them. He made sure to keep me in the loop every step of the way which was great.
Description of Work: He rehung a door, including removing the trim around the doorway and reinstalling it, planing the door to make it open and close more smoothly and replacing a broken doorknob. He also installed recessed lighting in the stairwell. Although I purchased supplies before he came, I miscalculated. He went to Lowes and got what I missed and just added the amount to the bill. He petted my dogs (which was entirely optional for him, but they really enjoyed it).

He showed up on a Friday afternoon and seemed to be rushing through the work. When he was finished, I asked him if we could go look at each project, but he didn't go over each project. Later after examining his work, I found it mostly not to be professional and completed a little haphazardly, probably because he didn't take the job seriously and was in a hurry to leave. Update: I have been an Angie?s List member since 2006 during which time I have submitted many types of reports and I have never had anyone to call and harass me about my reports. After I submitted the above report, Rich Ramires called me at least six times and left me messages stating that he thought that I must have made a mistake and meant to report on another business. He also stated in an adamant forceful manner that he ?would like to get this matter resolved and get the report changed or removed off of his Angie?s List rating?. I will change the report as Rich requested, so that he will know that I did not get him confused with another business. I had asked Rich to do the following odd jobs at my home: 1. To touch up two small places where paint was missing on the garage due to being pressure washed. He put a very light coat of paint on these areas and one area started to peel a short time later. 2. To repair posts of a split rail fence where the bottom portion had rotted off in the ground. He used metal stakes to hold up the fence posts. The problem with this repair is that the split rail fence is a light grey/brown color and the stakes are dark green and white, so the repair is obvious and unpleasing to the eye. The stakes should have been painted to blend in with the posts. 3. To fix a gate that would not latch to a post, because the post had settled too far away from the latch. He repaired it by attaching a 2X4 piece of wood on the post and drilling a hole in it for the latch. The problem with this repair is that he used a 2X4 that is about three feet long; again, making the repair obvious and odd looking. The 2X4 should have been much shorter, so that it would be less noticeable. 4. To relocate broken pieces of concrete cement in the back yard. I don?t know whether he forgot about it or didn?t want to do it, because he didn?t move any of it. Rich did give me some good advice about getting a welder to repair metal deck posts which I did pursue, and he did a good job installing a lock box and tightening a gate post that had come loose from the side of the house. I am sorry if he didn?t like my rating, but I am just sharing my overall experience with other consumers, which is what Angie?s List is supposed to be about.

Response from Honey Do... Home Services
My name is Richard Ramires I am the owner and sole employee of my company Honey Do... Home Services. I just saw this report late last night 09/09/09. I have done work for this home owner but not on the dates given nor for the amounts paid, nor did we have any problems. My interactions with her have only been positive. She has called me on several occasions, and I have made numerous concessions to satisfy her needs. Regardless, I am looking into this matter and have left several voice mail messages to address this error and get to the bottom of this unfortunate matter. I can be reached at 678-480-7073 if you have any concerns. Thank you for your attention.

Richard Ramirez is the employee who comes out each time to work on things for me around the house. His work is so clean, pure and professional. If he sees something that nees to be repaired then he will suggest to me to fix it and it takes no time for him to do the repair. He also makes suggestions on products or changes I could make around the house. He calms me down when I get upset about some of the work that has to be done - like termite damaged wood. When he makes trips to Lowe's for supplies he is never gone long because he knows exactly where to find everything. It took him around 4 hours and it is as if he loves his work. I can't say enough about him. He is like a grandson to me.
Description of Work: I hired Honey Do Home Services for handyman jobs around the house. They replaced the faucet in one bathroom, change the supply line on my faucet, put up two curtain rods, installed my smoke alarm, fixed a door that was sticking, adjusted the threshold in the storm door to block a hole where a mouse could enter, repaired an outlet in the kitchen, put a chain in my fan, etc. They have been out 3 times so far and will be out again in the near future.

I called to set up the appointment, and we set a date. He gave me the choice of picking up the needed materials myself, or having him pick them up. I chose to have him pick up the materials. He arrived at the set time and completed the work quickly, neatly, and thoroughly. I asked him to examine an outside door that had been giving me problems since the painter left. He advised me that what I had done to correct the problem was all that was needed and that I had done a good job. He was pleasant, upbeat, and eager to please. He made sure his work area was left clean and free of all debris and smudges.
Description of Work: The inside workings of a 40 year old toilet were replaced and the flexible pipe from the water source to the toilet was also replaced. He also looked at an insulation problem I was having with an outside door, and advised me how to solve it.

Richard, of Honey Do Home Services arrived on time and went right to work with his list. I am widowed and had so many things that needed to be done around the house. Richard was here all day. He charge $65.00 an hour, but it was worth it. My final bill was $700.00 for that day. I noticed right away that Richard loves his work, and that he cares about doing a good job. He worked all day and was very fast and just moved from one job to another effortlessly. He wants the job done right, and he knows what he is doing. Also, I felt very safe with Richard being in the house. I had this work done five months ago, but because of my mother's illness, I am just giving my review. I could not let this go any longer, because Richard was AWESOME. Please do not confuse Richard's Ramires company "Honey Do Home Services" with some other "Honey Do" Companies. I was pleased with Richard's work.
Description of Work: Richard hung a curtain rod, moved bed frame and mattress upstairs, replaced kitchen (1) and bathroom (2) faucets, pee traps and pop ups. Put up a door chain, took a trip to Lowes, that was quick. Replaced 2 blinds troubleshoot fireplace and key bulbs, brought new key. Connect DVD and VCR. Crawl space, put on a slide bolt. Flouerscent bulbs, tried to replace cover. Remove rotted wood from termite damage and made recommendations. Caulk hole damage from wood p***** and carpenter bees, and removed bug nests. Removed large antenna from top of roof. Tried to repair gate on fence. Need new one. He attached panel in master bath. He drain some water from water heater and found no sediments in water. He replaced a vent cover in bedroom, and change light bulb above garage door, and also switch a fixture on wall unit and tighten a lamp that had been loose for years.

He got back to me promptly and gave me some advice. He was honest by explaining that he could not do the job. He will install some flooring for me when I am ready.
Description of Work: I called him about some jobs that I needed done.
If there's a rating better than "A", Rich Ramires of Honey Do Home Services deserves it! Last week (the second time he has done work for me), he installed a toilet, took care of discarding the old toilet, put insulation under an elevated sunroom, AND diagnosed the problem with my gas stove, all within 4 hours. We agreed that the stove wasn't worth repairing; when I told him that I wanted to do a full remodel but can't afford it now, he suggested I look for an inexpensive "scratch and dent" stove. Three days later, on a Friday, Rich sent me an e-mail with an attachment from an online posting site: someone in Dunwoody was selling a used gas stove, the same size as my old one, for $70. I got in touch with her and arranged to see the stove on Saturday morning. I called Rich to thank him for the lead: he told me how to make sure the stove was worth my purchasing, and said he could pick it up and install it if I decided to buy it. I saw the stove on Saturday at 9:00, it met the specifications, and I paid the owner for it. Then, around 11:00, I called Rich to tell him I had bought the stove, and to see when he could get it. (The woman selling it needed it picked up before Thanksgiving, 5 days away.) Because Rich was booked solid on Monday-Wednesday, he picked the stove up on Saturday afternoon (the same day I had seen it), brought it to my house, disconnected my old stove, carried it out to the curb, installed the new one, and checked to make sure that it was working properly. All of this for his basic 2-hour charge of $130! I can't say enough good things about Rich Ramires, his work ethic, and his real concern for his customers. If you are wondering whether to use Honey Do Home Services or not, stop wondering and get in touch with Rich. You'll thank your lucky stars you did!

Used him for small odds and ends around the house. He is professional, polite and punctual.
Rich was a pleasure to work with. He was very clean cut and I felt comfortable with him in my home. He is quiet while doing his work, but always asks for your guidance when it comes to placement (ie. location of fixture on the wall, etc.). When I called to set up the appointment, he quoted me an hourly rate, minimum of 2 hours. He said that he worked quickly, so he suggested I look around the house and see if there was anything else he could fix within the 2 hour limit. I really appreciated this as I was able to keep him busy with projects for the entire 3 hours that I was being charged.
Description of Work: Rich came to the house and hung a curtain rod in the living room. My husband and I tried to do this ourselves a week prior, and ran into a stud. We did slight damage to the drywall, but Rich fixed this and got the curtain rod, hold backs and curtains hung. He also hung a curtain rod in our basement. And hung a 25 lb. mirror and all bathroom fixtures in our master bathroom (including toilet paper holder, hand towel bar, towel bar, glass wall shelf and robe hook. He gave me some tips on caulking the shower. And rose the level of our bathroom sink stoppers (2) for quicker water flow.
