.In order to relocate near to grandchildren, my wife and I moved from Alabama in April 2014. Our target was residence in Kennesaw. The result was a home in Acworth. Our agent was quite agreeable through our early visits, before our previous home was sold, and showed us several places that seemed right for us. We kept up correspondence for many months. When our home finally sold, we had to move in a hurry, and drove here to select a replacement. By this time the agent was well acquainted with our specifications. Over a weekend we looked at a score of places, few of which came even close to our requirements. In the end, we settled on the only one that seemed adequate to our needs, although it was further out from where we wished to be. In the lead-up to closing we were required to contract for a porch repair as a condition of a VA loan. Initially, the agent led us to believe the cost to be approximately $2,000 and we agreed to this since the seller would not pay for it. The actual cost turned out to be $6214. It was the third build for a brick porch in 15 years. We were not briefed very carefully on the remaining downsides of the transaction. We were the third owner since the house had been built in 1999, and it had been essentially uninhabited for some six years. There were numerous petty deficiencies, including a leak in the roof, that the seller felt unobligated to correct. Throughout, the agent continually defended the sellers, as if he was THEIR agent and not ours, never seeming to go to bat for our interests. Correction of the problems we could not abide ultimately ran to many thousands of dollars beyond what we expected. I wrote in detail to the agent on 4 June, describing our dissatisfaction. He did not reply, which I took as disinterest. We intend to stay in this house for the remainder of our days, but the bad taste in our mouths from this experience will linger for some time.

Dawn has been fantastic in guiding us through the process of buying our home in Buckhead. From the first phone call to even after the closing she has provided us with great service and has gone out of her way to assist us and tried to help with everything we asked for even when it was not exactly related to the purchase. Since we were moving from out of state it has been invaluable to know that someone is there that you can trust to look out for your interests. She seems to have a very wide experience and knowledge of Atlanta which made us feel very comfortable in working with her.
