Description of Work: They took up carpet on the stairs and a hallway and refinished the oak treads on the stairs and put down new hardwood flooring in the hallway. Also replaced the carpet in a bedroom and tacked down the carpet in the doorways abutting the new wood floor. |The wood guys did a beautiful job on the stairs that had never been finished but were paint splatered and scarred with nail holes. They had to take up a particle board layer to put down the new flooring and match the stain to the prefinished wood. It looks great and I am very pleased with it. |The carpet guys changed out one room but their expertise showed when they had to tack down the existing carpet at all the doorways. I had one problem area where the existing carpet was too short and some of the old hallway carpet in a different color filled in the gap. I resigned myself to live with the two colors until down the road when I could replace that other bedroom's carpet. But he made it work and the problem is completely gone. I was really impressed by his ability and the effort he made.

+ 0 moreI started out emailing back and forth with Jason about quotes (his response was practically immediate!). Within a day or so, I scheduled them to come out and do an on-premise assessment. Andrew met me at my home - and was very personable and gracious. He explained the process and answered any questions that I had. We agreed to the service that I requested - refinishing, 3 coats of poly and the dust free system. He was very honest about what we could expect as a final product, took the time to walk through the home, and explain to me about the different types of woods we had. They were able to do the job the next day, which was fab because we were moving in the following week. We filled out the paperwork and we were done. Additionally, they did not charge me for the second half of the payment due, UNTIL I had a chance to take a look at the floor, and could assure them that I was 100% pleased. We would recommend these guys to ALL our friends!!
Description of Work: The team at Great American Floors refinished approximately 700 square feet of Oak and Pine hardwood floors in our bungalow. 3 coats of shiny poly and a dust free system left our floors looking better than we could have ever imagined. They were also able to sand off many of the woods imperfections that had developed over the years. Our home is over 80 years old - and now the floors look brand new!

+ -1 moreIT WAS UNSATISFACTORY. THEY HAD AN EXTREMELY POOR RESPONSE TO PROBLEMS. IT WAS JUST UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT. BASICALLY AFTER THEY REPLACED THE FLOOR, THEY PUT THE WRONG FLOOR IN THE LIVING ROOM AND WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN DEAL WITH US ANY MORE.
Description of Work: THEY PUT IN LAMINATE FLOORING IN THE LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN. THEY JUST TOOK OUT THE OLD CARPETING, AND PUT IN THE LAMINATE FLOORING IN THE LIVING ROOM, AND REPLACED THE OLD FLOORING IN THE KITCHEN.

He was very responsive to our questions and requests, our home was clean when they finished, and the work was done well. Highly recommend the ''dustless'' refinishing system.
Description of Work: Refinished (sanded, stained, & sealed) hardwood floors throughout entire first floor and stairway; removed and replaced all trim pieces as well. Replaced warped flooring in powder room also.

+ -1 moreTHE FINISHING JOB BY CARPENTERS WAS NOT AS HIGH QUALITY AS THE ACTUAL FLOORING JOB. THE QUARTER ROUND FINISH AND THRESHOLD'S WERE NOT EXCELLENT FINISH CARPENTRY. OVERALL, I AM SATISFIED WITH THE JOB.
Description of Work: THE COMPANY REMOVED THE OLD HARDWOOD AND REPLACED IT WITH NEW HARDWOOD.
